I'd really love a minifigure series, but I was under the impression we already knew the only other CMFs coming this year were series 21 and Wizarding World S2?

HP series 2 has allegedly been postponed to 2021

3.99 is not a minifig series price range anymore, betting on booster packs.

Do we know for sure this is the case, or was the price increase possibly only for the DC CMF?

Ah. I was unaware of this.

Turns out Wizarding World was postponed to next year and whatever's filling that slot now is unknown, but apparently still licensed as far as I'm aware.

I am not sure if i'd like a Cmf. I can't imagine most Characters as a good minifigure. There is no alternative to Bigfigs for Donkey Kong and Bowser if they are supposed to look not terrible.

We don't know yet what the september series will be... but I'd say Disney 3 is likely.

But that's not the price of the CMFs anymore. So it can't be a Mario CMF wave

Series 20 is also $5

...and it's not that most people actually would need them. There's a good number of Nintendo figures of all sizes already. Just saw some in a size similar to minifigures in a Gamestop for 4.50 Euro and most of them looked more detailed than a minifig ever could...

I think you're kind of missing the point here, we don't want a Mario CMF just because we want Nintendo figures, we want a Mario CMF because we like Mario and Lego and want Nintendo minifigs. By that logic why make minifigs for any license. I guarantee a Mario or even just Nintendo-based in general CMF would sell like hotcakes.

Wow!!! I didn’t  check Instagram this morning. And now I find this and I am starting a 6hours long non stop class in 2 minutes and can’t read about it!?!?! Very interesting

Series 20 and there's apparently rumours of WW S2 being postponed. Besides, even Licensed CMFs follow the CMF set number pattern.

Honestly, I'd go as far as to say it definitely isn't a CMF Series.

Notice on the picture how the profile bricks have the studs at the wrong place compared to the usual. And how the ? Block is build so it stands out of regular brick height

Probably AR based. And those screens on small figures? Gotta go to class:)

Those are both techniques taken from the Minecraft series.  The brick blocks just have a 2x2 jumper on them for figure placement/building, and the ? block has an added 2x2 round plate on the bottom to make it easier to remove.  They do stuff like this all the time with Minecraft.

I started play Mario odyssey recently, and I was really starting to think how cool it would be to get LEGO Mario, and now here we are! I’m really hoping that they do make normal Minifigures, especially since the question mark block is out of scale with this weird figure. If they are all like this, however, I’ll be disappointed.

My guess? They’ll handle this like the Minecraft theme, with the different separate blocks that can be rearranged to make new levels. That would be cool.

Alright, it probably won't be a minifig series. But those blocks ARE minifig scale, so if its all this weird screen block thing, it'll be quite the disappointment.

The 2x2 jumpers are also interesting.  Sure they can be used for building, but with Mario sets I'd think they'd be much more useful for figure placement.  And why use jumpers for that when your figure's feet are 4 studs wide?  Plus there's a big scale issue regardless, as you said.

Is it possible that the weird screen figures are what's coming in the $3.99 sets and the rest of the theme is normal? Wouldn't be the first time Lego's done something where the cheaper sets of a theme are gimmicky (i.e. Nexo, Ninjago). I just find it hard to believe that Nintendo and Lego would finally come together only to produce something that doesn't really feel like Lego.

The price is 4€, not $4. CMF is $5, but still 4€. Meaning it could easily take the Fall CMF slot from reportedly postponed HP CMF.

Very interesting! I haven't played a mario game in years so don't know what sort of sets we could expect, but does anyone else think we could get a minifigure series?

That's all I really want out of this theme.

Maybe these big blocky figures will be the $10 dollar gimmick sets, like this year’s Ninjago arcade pods and friends play cubes. I think the leaf price list had some $10 dollar sets, could it be those?

Also possible, but $4 seems cheap for these big blocky electronic parts, especially if one Minifig costs $5 now. My guess? They could be accessories, different power ups and such.

If we are getting gimmicky $10 sets, that just might explain it and I hope it's the case. $10 is really cheap when it comes to Lego and there's usually only one or two sets per price point in a wave for any theme. Not really sure what the $4 sets would be in that case though, I can't see them just selling bags of power-ups unless those are also app-integrated. I just want minifigs of the Mario cast that actually, you know, look like Lego.

Does anyone still have the leaf price list?

Impressive of Lego to keep this a secret all they way to the finish-line
I would have loved it when I was a kid, but will probably ship it now. On the other hand interesting to see what they come up with at least :classic:

You're misunderstanding me. I have no doubt that this stuff will sell, regardless, it just feels kinda redundant to me. That and that perhaps I'm having a hard time envisioning how a character with a complex appearance (you know, the spiky shell, the wild red hair etc.) might potentially look as a minifig. Same for Donkey Kong and some others that I so loved on my Super Nintendo way back when... In any case, perhaps I'm just too skeptical. Let's just see how this pans out. ;-)

Looks like there's a switch in the figure
