Zarkan Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 (edited) So, pretty much everyone agrees the G2 storyline was a steaming pile. Not just because what what we got was bad, but because we got so little of it. I've personally rectified this with an extensive headcanon that would more accurately be described as a full-fledged rewrite of the story. And with this came a bunch of modified sets and completely original creations. All of these have been posted on twitter, bur since this forum doesn't appear to have twitter embeds, I'll just be posting the photos and text separately. So, with that being said, let's start with my Master/Uniter fusions. The genesis of this idea was that I didn't want more than one of each character on the shelf. So I combined most of the aesthetics of the Masters with the torsos and elemental creatures of the Uniters. And I also made some other very interesting changes: Quote Kopaka: Maiden of Ice. And no, this is not just a temporary custom: she's a permanent fixture of my G2 shelves . She's also directly inspired by Jaina from Warcraft. Quote Pohatu Uniter is generally acknowledged as one of the worst Uniters, especially when combined with his elemental creature. I've tried to rectify this by making Pohatu become one with the scorpions. Quote This is one of the better examples of why combining the Masters and Uniters is a great idea. Behold Gali: Mermaid Queen of the Okotan Sea. Not nearly as much of a departure as my Kopaka, but Akida and Gali Master's fin were meant for each other. Quote There's not much to say about my other "custom" heroes (one of whom barely qualifies as a custom, given that all I changed was the feet), so here's all three of them at once. I will mention this one bit of headcanon, though: Onua (who I pronounce "New-Uh," is a girl. Also, on another note, it's good to be back. Looks like admins quietly fixed my password recovery for me (it had been so long since I had last posted that the email address it was attached to no-longer exists.). I don't expect to be posting too much here, but I do go way, way back. I was a mere kiddo when I joined, and somehow managed to not get myself banned despite the (predictably) low quality of my posting. And I recall many fond conversations I had with people here during the latter years of Bionicle's original run. Shame pretty much nobody I interacted with back in the day is here anymore. ( I still wanna know whatever happened to JINZONINGEN73. Sigh.) Anyway, I'll be back with more creations later, if people are interested in seeing them. You can also check my twitter account and see all of them instantly (There's a link in my profile now.). Just be aware I mostly just retweet political junk, so if that isn't your thing, you might as well stay way and wait for me to post more stuff here. Edited April 14, 2020 by Zarkan Quote
Zarkan Posted April 14, 2020 Author Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) Thanks! Now, time for some original creations. Let's start with my original sixth skull villain, corresponding to the element of water: Kuna, the Skull Serpent. She's inspired by Flaahgra from Metroid Prime, BTW. Also, I took the liberty of removing the orange from four out of five of the official skull villains. And I also gave them a (IMO) much cooler backstory. Quote "Kuna The Skull Serpent, Krahka the Skull Slicer, Kofo the Skull Scorpion, Karzahni the Skull Archer, Kranua the Skull Basher, and Kulta the Skull Grinder. Once, they were Masters of the elements themselves. Now, they know only the Darkness. Killed by the cataclysm that ravaged the City of The Mask Makers, they were re-animaed by the surge of energy that also birthed the true heroes of legend. Their new mission: stop Pohatu and his fellow Masters from finding Ekimu and reforging the Mask of Creation." Edited April 14, 2020 by Zarkan Quote
VBBN Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Welcome back! I definitely like some of your mods here, especially the changes/new addition to the skull villains. The removal of the orange color is an improvement, though I would definitely like to see some "sizing up" as I feel the skulls were relatively small in stature compared to the Toa. The Toa themselves are nice, I definitely like your mindset of combining the Masters and the Uniters together. Quote
