Hi all. I have recently completed this monster. Made from 42098 using instructions from rebrickable. I highly recommend this build, its really good fun.

I am now looking for something that will sit nicely on the back of it, but don't want spend 100s of pounds.  I have been looking at cranes.

Either 42108 or 42097.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these? Are they any good?

Also if anyone can tell me the length of the body of 42108 (excluding the arm), that would be appreciated. Along with any other recommendations.

Many thanks

42108 is a road truck itself, so I'd pick 42097 since that needs a carrier to get about . A medium telehandler would look cool too - you should be able to pick up 8283 or 42061 for a good price.

Oh, and post better photos.

42061's kind of off-scale though. I want to say 42094 but I think it's too wide. 42079 maybe? That's wheeled, but doesn't look like the kind of vehicle that would drive long-distance under its own power.

I've gone for 42097. Will see what it looks like. I did ideally want 42054, but can't justify the money on a second hand kit at the moment.

So I went for 42097 to go on the back of my low loader. What do you think?

42097 is great little set, really enjoyed the build. I've also just managed to get a second hand 42054 Claas for £110, which I think is a bargain.
