Ross Fisher Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 *Your entry has earned 5 XP* Y'know, I met a Star Dragon once? Watched it die out on one of Gigor's frozen oceans. As far as I could make out, it got caught in our tractor beam as it navigated deep space. Got dragged through the atmosphere and slammed into the ice. Turns out their bodies were designed to handle the vacuum of deep space; not an impact at terminal velocity. 'Course, there was nothing I could do to save it. My tiny bottle of bacta-gel was all but useless to a creature that size. Couldn't exactly call support in from base, either. What's Triumvirate command going to do with a Star Dragon, after all? Well, I stayed with it for half an hour, keeping it company. I watched the lights in its eyes growing dimmer, and it's breath growing fainter. In the end, it didn't have the strength to hold itself above the water any longer, and slowly slipped under. Writing that report was definitely not the kind of fun I was sold when I signed up for diplomatic service, I can tell you. Marked the location just in case Triumvirate research and development wanted to inspect the body. Pretty sure no-one ever bothered to take a look. Duinuogwuin / Star Dragon Quote
marvelBoy123 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Really nice, the transition from snow to water looks really good! Quote
Ross Fisher Posted April 14, 2020 Author Posted April 14, 2020 @marvelBoy123 thanks. TBH, I don't think it's my best work. I'll get back to improving the quality now. Quote
Beleg the Ranger Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Very interesting! The flat white area gives the impression of an icepack well! Quote
Tariq j Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 The ice splitting effect looks really good. Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Nice water/ice transition. I like the dragon too. Even if it's a bit too "chibby"... A cool entry (no pun intended ) Good job! Quote
Darth Bjorn Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 I love this! I still think you should’ve used some white cheese slopes or other white bricks as cracked ice pieces, scattered on the ice pack in front of the dragon. But, it’s a detail! I still love the effective simplicity here! Quote
