Dovchenko Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Listen- those Castle sets, the ones with dragons. Many people have claimed that the giant troll is "<insert that tiresome argument>", but I really love it. The dragons remind me of those Mega Blocks things you see when you go down the brick aisle. Wretched things. but I sort of like the dragons in the Lego sets. They unfortunately seem <insert that tiresome argument>, especially the one from the troll ship. The armour- puffs out. The dragons otherwise- those ones from the skeleton sets? I actually sort of like them. But maybe it's the eyes and lack of detail. Maybe it's the stubby, obnoxious legs. I don't know, it just seems... young. Also, how come no one has castle sets? It's a shame- only a few Castle sightings in the US? We've got most of them I think, the mine the wheel the impulses and the Mine Defender. Maybe the Siege Tower, and the cart. Not the ship either. How come there are no reviews? I'd like to know before I buy, if I ever do. Either ye Eurobrickers need to lay off the Duplo or Bricklink-it! Don't mind me, just looking for answers. Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 (edited) I'm not quite sure what you mean in your first paragraph, but here are the reviews for the Troll Battle Wagon, Dwarf Mine Defender and Tower Raid and the Troll Warship Edited May 17, 2008 by TinyPiesRUs Quote
Dovchenko Posted May 17, 2008 Author Posted May 17, 2008 I guess I'll never find my way. But to rewrite the first question, the dragons look kind of <insert that tiresome argument> IMHO, like the Mega Blocks ones you are forced to see when you go down the building aisle. It's the eyes. I like it, but I dunno... that armour on the green one also sets me off a little. Quote
Dragonator Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Any dragon looks great my friend, and don't you forget it! YOU LOVE THE DRAGONS! No seriously, you do, you just don't know it. Yes the older viking style ones looked better for display purposes, but they are still Lego dragons, and deserve your love. Friendship to all Dragons! No more discrimination! Quote
Hinckley Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Oh, it's avoidable. Just try to engage your brain before your fingers. I like the trolls too and the dragons do annoy me a bit. I liked the Vikings one but wish they weren't so Bionicely. As for the rest of your post...huh? ...I wish this thread had a point... Quote
iamded Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Sure, the dragons are a tad <insert that tiresome argument>, but they're a lot less <insert that tiresome argument> than the original ones, don't you agree? You know, the ones that could only wag their tail, move their arms up and down, and open their mouth? The Vikings ones were fantastic, perhaps a tad too Bionicley. In my opinion each one has it's advantages and disadvantages, but they're all cool. And yes, the giant trolls rock. Also, I can throw in some more reviews if you want. Redman ON? And I'm sure I read in the Castle '08 thread that Castle sets are appearing, though their release date is like September or something. Though your post does confuse me a tad, it's like your saying something, then you say the opposite of what you just said. Anyway, that's enough from me. ~Peace Quote
brickbitz Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Sure, the dragons are a tad <insert that tiresome argument>, but they're a lot less <insert that tiresome argument> than the original ones, don't you agree? Personally I much prefer the older dragons. To me they are pure LEGO before it started to follow the crowd a bit. Everyone seems happy for the shark and crocodile to make a comeback this year. The new dragons try too hard to appeal to the toy market (imho) and are more like an attempt to thwart MB. As for Bionicle style ones, meh.... The new trolls are great. Quote

Comparing Mega Blocks Dragons to Lego Ones, they're not much different. I like the dragons, but they're <insert that tiresome argument>. The troll isn't, no clue why some called it lame. The dragons aren't, but they could be so much better. It's probably still worth buying, and maybe when and if I pick up that warship, I'll probably enjoy it. Quote

I just prefer topics to have a title and description that reflects the content of the discussion. And asking for reviews when they're already out there and accusing everyone of playing with DUPLO is a little odd. I agree with what you're saying, but you've just organized your thoughts and arguments in a weird way. Quote

Siegfried Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 I never liked the old dragons; they always seemed too small to me and seem to resembled a gargoyle more. But it's all a matter of opinion. Quote
MoonCheese Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 The old dragons looked weird. Maybe it's their pose...it's like they're bending way backward all of the time, more like a statue of a dragon than a (hypothetical) real one. The new ones look better IMO. Quote
Dovchenko Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 and accusing everyone of playing with DUPLO is a little odd. Joking, lol, it's a good thing no one's that insane. Quote
ridethehighwind Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Can anyone please tell me when/if the Troll Warship is hitting the States? Quote
BearHeart Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Can anyone please tell me when/if the Troll Warship is hitting the States? Well, it showed up on Shop@Home a few days ago... so it will be in stores in a few weeks. Im guessing around the beginning of June. Quote
