This is the first time i have done a Train MOC. I have build a danish train called IC3 (short for intercity train with 3 wagons). It has a "cockpit" in both ends, and lights in both end (yellow in front red at the rear). I used a lot of time putting the light in the rear wagon. Using only 1 motorunit, I had to pull a wire through the 3 wagons in the bottom. The train only has 4 "buggies" to the 3 wagons, so there is no magnets, the hole train is in one "piece".

Hope you like it.

So You've finally finished it.

Looks great and has a nice resemblance to the "real thing".

Any pics of the train going through a curve? That would show if You've managed to make the train flexible.

Stay on target!

A fine rendering and a really smooth MOC, the color scheme, although simple, works very good too, well done.

Well it is a minifig scaled MOC that has to co-exist with several other trains in LEGOtown. And that taken into consideration actually makes this a great compromise between the real thing and the real thing minifigscaled...does this sound too strange?

I´m interested in that question as well. I've never seen the use of the bogey plates in that way before. Great!

And it would be nice to see some interior pics.

Chooochooo ON!

Hey Morten, this is one of the nicest train MOCs I've ever seen. Great job for your first. You captured the real life train very nicely. I really like the simple color pattern and the mechanics on the top. Excellent work! :sweet:

Beautiful rendition of the original, you have catched the color scheme very well, and the overall design is fantastic. I like a lot the detachable roofs. It would be nice to see it running ^^

Your first train MOC, huh? It's a very good imitation of the real train. I like the colour scheme. And I must agree: I'd also like to see it going through curves and its interior. Keep up that good work!

Thanks for all the nice comments, I am glad you like the train. My plan is to do a 96x96 MOC / scene with the train in it.

I will take more pictures ASAP and post them, maybe tomorrow, if I can find the time.

If You follow the link in the first post, it'll take you to his brickshelf folder and there's a pic of the interior there.

What a neat train! It looks superb, the sleekness and curves are very cool, and it's a great resemblance to the real thing. Fantastic job!

Here is a few more pictures of my IC3 train in different curves, and a shot at the connection of the wagons. I was not able to take pictures of the train running.

Hope you like them. Have to start working on my scene with the train in.

More pictures in my brickshelf folder.

PS Where are You going to build it? In Your basement :tongue:

I love the high level of details you have put into this little 6 studs wide train. I know another guy who has done it in 8 studs wide, but I prefer the rounded look of your cars.

If only LEGO would release this window with smoke glass:

Then we would have the ideal IC3 windows.
