They seem to have a very strange and fickle audience in general - possibly because a lot of Prime subscribers only want next-day delivery, they're not interested in the TV stuff (or can't find it; it's really hard to find Prime Video content if you're using a PC for some reason). I'd be down for a series based on this but dubious - I'm not sure how the structure of the books lend themselves to HETV, and a lot would be riding on the performances of whoever they cast as Vin and Elend. I'd hope Sanderson has as little involvement as possible though; basic approval of elements, and consultations for questions of lore, but his comments about WoT gave me the impression that he doesn't actually understand how television works. He's an imaginative writer, sure, but not a TV writer imo. I'd also be down for Lego sets on the IP but honestly I don't see it happening even if a show comes out: the books have some very graphic elements such as the spikes, and I think the scientific approach to a magic system might alienate a subset of potential viewers. Happy to proven wrong of course. He said he is working on a Mistborn project and wants to do Mistborn first before he tries to get Stormlight done. I do agree it will depend heavily on performances and casting. I have confidence in Sanderson and if this Mistborn thing pans out I will be excited to see how it looks and how they adapt it. Sanderson did say he was learning more about the TV/movie side of things. Reacher from Amazon seems to be doing quite well for them. HOTD fell off in the second season and HBO really does do a great job with their shows in general. I wish George would just finish the books instead of doing so many other projects. As far as Prime is concerned people do know about their media content. Many people had firesticks and watched stuff on Prime. That might be a UK thing with prime but here in the US people watch prime on their phones, computers, tablets, etc. I think alot of people nowadays are just looking for instant gratification. That's why things like Youtube and Tiktok are so popular. But I hope there are more good fantasy shows, movies, etc coming out it is interesting to see these worlds come to the big screen especially after reading about these worlds and seeing LOTR, WOT, the Witcher, GOT and others on the big screen has been fun and interesting. Although some of the shows have been better than others. I hope to see more fantasy shows and franchise's like Malazan, First law, The Kingkiller Chronicles, Any Robin Hobb books, or the Green Bone Saga by Fonda lee which I've heard is possibly getting an adaptation. Did you happen to watch the Shanarra Chronicles that came out on MTV years ago starring Austin Butler? If so what were your thoughts? Quote

The one fantasy series I'm hoping gets an adaptation is The Priory of the Orange Tree, though as it's a self-contained book it might be a hard sell - you could get at most two seasons out of it, and honestly it only needs one. I also enjoyed the Tearling trilogy, but that starts to blur the line between straight fantasy and urban fantasy in the later books 22 minutes ago, zoth33 said: He said he is working on a Mistborn project and wants to do Mistborn first before he tries to get Stormlight done. Definitely the smart idea imo - I loved Mistborn but found Stormlight really hard to get into. I ended up DNFing the first book for a reason I've now forgotten. My worry with Sanderson in TV is he strikes me as a purist/idealist - he wants books to be adapted as is, which is admirable but unrealistic in almost all cases, and doesn't seem to be very willing to evaluate whether a change is actually good or not. I know with WOT he was freely conflating reasonable concerns with changes that just made sense with the reality of the format, or which were enforced (I remember him complaining about Siuan Sanche only being in two episodes of Season 2, even though that was an enforced change because they had to delay for Covid and Sophie Okonedo wasn't available for any more filming dates in the event). I would definitely be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt though. 26 minutes ago, zoth33 said: As far as Prime is concerned people do know about their media content. Prime shows practically never break into the top ten streaming per week, anywhere. I think the interface makes it less friendly for casual browsing, too. If you know what you're watching you'll hop on Prime for it, but you're less likely to just browse Prime when you're unsure. I dunno, I have mixed feelings about Amazon - on one hand, they give lots of money to shows they have faith in, and they generally give shows more seasons to prove themselves than other companies, but on the other hand they're allergic to merchandising and like meddling instead. (For example, common complains with the pilot episode of WOT: weird opening, episode doing too much in a short period of time - both the direct result of Amazon insisting on changes to the original script, which was supposed to be over an hour and a half long and start with the prologue to the first book) Sadly, Amazon getting the rights to a show basically guarantees no Lego sets ever come from it. I enjoyed the show for what it was. Austin Butler was good. Manu Bennett was also in it and gave a solid performance. It only had 2 seasons then was cancelled. There were some good scenes but MTV's budget for the show really hurt some of the CGI and other settings. All in all it wasn't the worst thing I've watched but wasn't the best either it was average for me anyway. I've watched several podcasts, interviews and things with Brandon Sanderson. He has his own channel on youtube. He has stated that he understands that certain things have to be changed to adapt Mistborn and knows that they will have to change somethings but still wants the adaptation to be as close as possible to the books. He also just released a table top game that sold out I believe. Quote
Lion King Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 I don’t know how likely it would be but i wish Lego would do sets that are based on Percy Jackson tv show. There are so many accessories and minifigure parts we want. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Percy Jackson would be so cool. I'd prefer something more accurate to the books than the show or movie but I'd settle for show sets over movie. Most of my problems with the show are with the changes in writing rather than the look of it though so it wouldn't effect any Lego sets. ( Though the rate they're making seasons Percy will be 32 before they beat Gaia) Quote

Coryo Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Lego Shrek would absolutely make a killing with Gen Z, fingers crossed for something when the fifth movie comes out in 2026 Quote

At least HTTYD makes sense since other brands snatched the license, but what‘s the excuse for the other two? Indeed, fingers crossed for Shrek 5! Either that or @Ashnflash‘s Ideas submission Quote

I'd guess for Shrek the earlier films were when Lego licensing was still in its infancy (we'd only ever had six licenses by the time of the third film, including the flop that was Avatar) and by the fourth Shrek was in that weird place where the kids who had grown up on it were growing past it but not old enough yet to have lots of disposable income. Was Kung Fu Panda ever really big more than every other Dreamworks summer flick? I don't think those sorts of films were ever on Lego's radar tbh Quote
jonwil Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Probably the DreamWorks franchise I would want LEGO product for the most would be Madagascar. Quote
Lego Nostalgia Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Would like a Horror Movie CMF Series, Michael Myers,Jason Voorhees,Ghostface,Pennywise,Freddy Kreuger, Freddy Fazbear lol, it'll never happen sadly :( But FNAF is always possible, it's pg-13 at most Quote

ARC2149Nova Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Been watching Star Trek recently, and I'd be down for some sets, if Lego could snag the license. Highlights would be the three main Enterpises (NX-01, NCC-1701, NCC-1701-D) with their respective crews, Klingon Bird of Prey and Romulan Warbird. Quote

I feel like while it doesn't have the appeal with kids to be a standard theme, lego at the very least needs to snatch it up to do an Icons enterprise at some point. I think midi-scale ships and dioramas of the bridge for each ship would also do very well. On that topic, I'd like a midi-scale Orville. It's so weird that they're only legally allowed to use like 4 batman characters otherwise Gunn, Zack Snyder, and Scott Snyder show up and beat the designers with a crowbar. I am once again asking for lego Void Rivals. While it takes place in the universe of the transformers, it has proven itself as it's own entity able to thrive without them, and is the best new worldbuilding I've seen in years. Only other thing I think I'm missing out of my dream sets would be Eragon (book based, there is no movie). I guess turning Dune into a full theme would be nice. Quote

Brickset recently reported that BlueBrixx no longer has the Star Trek license, and suggested that Lego might be interested in getting the IP as part of its 18+ range. Some big display models of the hero ships would be awesome, especially the original Enterprise, although my dream would be the space station Deep Space Nine with scaled versions of the Defiant, Enterprise-D & Voyager that could be posed either docked or flying nearby. Some smaller ship sets would be great, since the franchise has had so many iconic vessels over the decades, but I fear that Lego and/or Disney wouldn't want anything competing with their midi scale Star Wars ship sets (which is a pity, since a Klingon Bird-of-Prey at that scale would look beautiful). Star Trek has never been a huge draw for merchandise sales, but Lego could definitely sell an occasional D2C display model and the like, so long as it doesn't step on the toes of Star Wars. Quote
Tariq j Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 An unreleased trailer from a cancelled James Bond game has been doing the rounds - I think it was meant to be from Lego Dimensions had it been given a third series. Even if we didn’t get the game it would be nice to get some sets. Quote

Yeah there’s so much potential there - they’ve got 25 films to choose from after all. I’m not sure how well either DB5 sold but I’d love to see something emerge - even a CMF series would be nice.
