BL sellers obviously don't part the sets out for the motors. They will continue to part the sets out for other parts and thus they will have motors that they want to sell. Quote
dr_spock Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 LEGO seems to be pricing to encourage you to buy the sets with PU instead of individual components. I bought a couple Batmobile sets on sale to get the PU hubs. It wasn't that much more than buying a hub and 2 motors that came with the set. On the plus side I have more Batman minifigs for my Bat Train. Quote

Hmm .. just checked and all the cheap PUp Hubs in the US have disappeared from BL (in both listings, 88009 as well as bb0892c01 (will those listings merge at some point?)). PU Technic Large motors are still available, bought one for $15 earlier today. Edited June 3, 2020 by Phil B Quote

One is for the "set" that contains just the motor and is sold by lego, one for the "part" that comes in serveral sets (but only with one plastic bag instead of two and maybe without the papers). These are obviously from split sets but will not differ in any way from those sold on the Lego online store. Links for those interested: Motor and Hub Thanks - I always look at the ‘set’ profile rather than the part profile, so only get the ridiculous LEGO standard prices of 88009, give or take £5. Quote

Also I had some orders from a French store shipped to me last week, so some stores are shipping to the US. I don't think there is a difference, just two listings with the same item. This one is much cheaper: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=bb0892c01#T=S&C=1&O={"color":1,"iconly":0} It seems like a lot of the US stores have sold out since I ordered! The other is the individual part, without the packaging, that is sold by sellers parting out sets like 60198. The price is far less, as it is always cheaper to buy a set rather than all the individual parts. Quote
Phil B Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 The BL Price Guide shows the price development over the last months: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=bb0892c01&colorID=1&viewExclude=Y&v=D&cID=N Looking at US$ prices, sold prices for new hubs went from $15-$20 a few months ago, to just one seller at $35 right now. The situation in Europe is much better with quite some inventory still available at the sub eur20 price point. Quote
Duq Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 Can we go back to the Crocodile? It's been few pages of just PUP motors and hubs now... Quote

Well, we're all excited to motorise it. ;) Going back to the model itself, I personally can't wait. If the rumoured July 1st release date is true, I'm expecting an announcement somewhere around 16-18th June, in line with the two week announce lead other Creator Expert/18+ models have received (ie. Haunted House). Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I'm definitely going to see about ordering this as soon as it becomes available. I've always loved steeplecab/crocodile type locomotives for some reason. Quote

Running the Crocodile locomotive with 20 Batmans hanging off it at an event would be funny. I wonder how many guests will figure out that one of the Batman villians is Croc. Quote
M_slug357 Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 @dr_spock That joke would be more comprehensible if the loco was (any) shade of green....! Maybe if you tie up a Robin minfig to one of the ends...? I wonder if the Killer Croc bigfig from TLBM can fit in the cab sideways? lol Quote

I wish we had some more actual confirmed info on this set, because the Crocodile locomotives, along with the GG-1 are some of my favorite electric locomotives, and all this speculation is kinda driving me batty... Still, I have a feeling I will be doing some heavy customization to my own copy of the set once I get it. Quote
JopieK Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Yups, fingers crossed the rumors are legit and not a convincing photoshop job. Quote

But these are on Ideas, alas it will be almost impossible to get 10k with such a train: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/e8dcfff4-b27f-486e-b080-c41cdbd8673ahttps://ideas.lego.com/projects/899ca545-49a5-4102-aef8-154bb71ac6eahttps://ideas.lego.com/projects/b100be81-413e-4aa8-98f2-f2c68354f5ed The miracle express achieved 10k and is under review but it is because apparently Queen is still quite popular, not because there are 10k Train enthusiast I'm afraid. Not gonna lie, but if they do make the Miracle express, I will totally buy it because I happen to be BOTH a Queen fan AND a train enthusiast. ;) Quote
JopieK Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Fingers crossed. It is a nice concept train. I think there is quite a chance that they will turn it into a set, but depends of course also on what agreement they might be able to reach with Queen. Quote
Mestari Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I guess Queen won't be picky ;) They do a lot of different stuff. I would worry more about the LEGO decision. But even if they don't accept it, we have this crocodile, I'm happy already ;) Quote
