Posted May 31, 20204 yr The Faroe Islands (Føroyar) are a group of islands in the north Atlantic Ocean between Scotland, Norway, and Iceland. The Faroe Islands are a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but they have their own government. The Faroe Islands also have their own language and their own flag. The Faroe Islands have a total area of about 1,400 square kilometres (540 sq mi) with a population of 52,000. I built this LEGO model for the first LEGO exhibition in the Faroe Islands which took place in the shopping mall SMS in Tórshavn in April 2019. I have previously built a similar map of Denmark: Map of Denmark Vágar is the first port of call for most foreigners travelling to the Faroe Islands, as it is home to the islands’ only airport, Vágar Airport. The island of Vágar has a population of around 3,300. Sandavágur Church is a church in in the town of Sandavágur. It was built in 1917. Tórshavn is the capital and largest city of the Faroe Islands. It has a population of around 20,000. Tórshavn Cathedral is built in 1788. The Magnus Cathedral is a ruined cathedral in the village of Kirkjubøur south of Tórshavn. The Magnus Cathedral was built around year 1300. The ruins are the largest medieval building in the Faroe Islands. Klaksvík is the second largest town in the Faroe Islands with a population around 5,000. Christianskirkjan is a church in Klaksvík. It was built in 1963. Kópakonan is a statue of a sealwoman. It is probably the most famous statue in the Faroe Islands. It is located in the small village of Mikladalur. Mykines is the westernmost of the Faroe Islands. The lighthouse was built in 1909. Suðuroy is the southernmost of the Faroe Islands. Suðuroy has a population of around 4,500. The Salt Silo in Tvøroyri was built in the 1937. It was transformed into a cultural center in 2017. The Smyril Line ferry sails between Denmark and the Faroe Islands. The trip takes approximately 36 hours. Edited May 31, 20204 yr by Lasse
