Ross Fisher Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 *Your entry has earned 7 XP* D'ya know much about the Intergalactic Banking Clan? I didn't realise it until I had a chance to study Imperial records, but we were indebted to them up to the hilt. Just the largest sum on the list was the creation of the Grand Army of the Republic itself. Crazy, right? These are the guys who went on to invest heavily in the Separatist Alliance. I guess when half the galaxy owes you money, you don't really have to worry about being punished for being on the wrong side. Those Muuns have a controlling influence on just about everyone. We're still paying off the Empire's debts. Hell, they're probably about the only people who could've told the Emperor how to run the galaxy. So when a Banking Clan Debt Collector and his droids turned up on Gigor, wanting to know why their clients were being waylaid... You can understand why my recommendation to the administrator was that we shut the project down. Erik Tiemens' 1313 concept art that I based this on: Quote
Darth Bjorn Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 I love how this turned out. Simple yet super effect-ful with the attention put into the few popping elements - the wall-to-wall rug (not exactly imperial protocol),and the awesome muun minifig (This is by far the best muun version I've seen). Well done sir! Quote

MKJoshA Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 I love your floor, but I'm not sold on it being present in an Imperial's quarters. Quote

marvelBoy123 Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 I'd attach a picture of the concept art that you based the build on, you did a great job of replicating something so detailed and once you see the atmosphere of the picture it really shows how clever the design choices were! Quote

Trying to recreate a light reflection like the concept art you shared is really hard. I think you did a pretty good job of recreating it, but without context it just looks like a colorful floor with the color scheme continuing onto the bed and wall. I think what would have help was building a ceiling. But then your MOC is almost impossible to photograph. Maybe if you had taken your picture at a different angle? The build itself is still really good. Even without the concept art context or a ceiling it's a good MOC. It just doesn't have an Imperial feel to me, but that could just be personal preference. That makes sense and I understand the difficulty of trying to tie things together for your story sometimes. I've found that it's occasionally better to just start a 2nd or 3rd character story so that the aesthetics fit better. But again, that's just me. Others don't like that method. So do what helps you keep building! Quote

I did that over on Brethren of the Brick Seas. Here I wanted to try a different style of storytelling: All first-hand, a bit colloquial, deeply personal. Quote
Merc4Hire Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I really like this one, it has a nar shaddaa vibe. The colors work together nicely, especially with the floor design. Quote
goatman461 Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Beats the hell out of my Muun. Great job! (I’ll be stealing that :)) Quote

Basiliscus Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 The Muun fig is brilliant, especially the accusatory way he's holding the cane. I wish the assassin droid wasn't standing so close to the door though, it's a bit of a strange placement. As others have said, while the floor is a clever idea, without context it doesn't look like a reflection. I do however love the little kitchenette, especially the way you have integrated the fence piece into it. The parts usage around the bed is top-notch too. Quote
Ross Fisher Posted June 11, 2020 Author Posted June 11, 2020 @Basiliscus Thanks! I wanted the droids just poking out from behind our Muun. Appreciate your comments about the parts usage. Quote
