THE-FORCE Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) Hi! You can tell here what your weirdest place is where you build lego, mine would be the hospital while I've got a iron drip in my hand, rather difficult working with one hand so I need to use my hand with the drip in it, quite painful. So what is your weirdest place? Edited May 20, 2008 by THE-FORCE Quote
Siegfried Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 At the toilets, hands down I do that a lot if I can't wait to look at a new set... Quote
Hotshot Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 In the car, on my pc, on the wc, boat. you name it Quote

Fluyt Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 At the toilets, hands down I do that a lot if I can't wait to look at a new set... *note to self: do not buy "used" lego from jipay or sinner ,JK. Anyways, I don't really build in weird places, maybe when I was a kid when I built in the hospital, but otherwise I've always built in my room or the living room. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 On top of a dune in the Sahara waiting for sunset, oddly it was a Harry Potter set which I’m not a great fan of. Quote
Brainbox Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I did consider making up a 'travel kit' the other week. I had an exam, and there was a chance that I was going to be placed in isolation for a few hours. It didn't happen in the end, so sadly no travel kit. I guess other people might have found it a bit weird. Quote
BerndDasBrot Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 in a train. i didn't find a place to sit so I went back to the trains end, sat down on the floor and build 8272. Quote
Dr. Brick Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 New set + boring film= in the cinema! Cool topic by the way! Quote
Tohst Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 So, back in the day, I used to take trips all over visiting friends. (Back in the day because I have no friends anymore. Its sad.) I'd always be looking for Lego sales and many times would find something on clearance in an out of the way K-Mart or something. I'd end up keeping it in my car and after a night out, when whatever group I was with was at some all night diner or Denny's at 3 or 4am, thats when I would bust out my cheap Lego and build there in the diner. So, I'd say Pekin, IL (just outside loverly Peoria), 4am, some greasy spoon diner. -Tohst Quote

I've built sets in the car just after buying them, but I imagine most folks do that. I've also built them at places of employment where of course I receive the "stares" or "looks" from fellow employees. Other than those 2 spots, I don't have that many exciting spots. Quote
adik_sa_lego Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 once built a couple of tiny turbos in a starbucks while waiting for my girlfriend from work. man did i get those weird looks hahaha Quote

Dadster Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 In a cemetery , when my grandpa died, the last Lego he had offered me Wow - That's actually kind of touching. Some folks might think otherwise, but I get you... Quote
Dovchenko Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 In a cemetery , when my grandpa died, the last Lego he had offered me EVERYONE gets you. Seriously, that's incredibly emotional and sad news. Forgive me for asking, but out of curiousity, what was his last set to you? Quote

WhiteFang Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 My girlfriend and I built this beauty below near our house, at one of the void deck. We were sitting on the floor, covered with newspaper to keep our butts clean. It took about 90 mins for us to complete and we realised that there is an old man looking at us from the start till the end where we showed him the house we made. We attracted lots of wierd looks but we did not really care. I guess, this is the only set that my girlfriend ever like. Other than that, all my buildings are done at my home. F0NIX Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I have build in the woods and on top of a mountain. The first was because I have made a Geocache with a LEGO-theme and there you was supposed to make a tribute to a ongoing story with a creation with s little LEG set with two minifigures in. And because of that geocache I think many other have built with LEGO in the woods too :) The one on the mountain top was one of the pod sets, I'm not sure but think it was #4346 Robo Pod. I had four diffrent pod sets with me. But normaly I just build on the table in the livingroom. Quote
