Miss Darkie, Mister Athos, Mister Akkhraziel and Mister Jipay, would you be so kind to use the knife and tear some of the towels that are in the kitchen in order to prepare a bandage for poor Mister Kulo who injured himself ???? Your help is very much appreciated !!!! A second negative point is that the potatos are rotten !!!!! Now the good point is that we have can food !!!!! We shall eat my friends !!! Some thoughts about the unknow: Mister Brickster, are the vegetables eatable ?? How injured is Mister Kulo ?? How badly damaged is the ladder ??? Can we all climb up ??? Do the 9 barrils contain anything inside ??

One could probably jump from the kitchen to the wine cellar without hurting one's self. Q: How badly damaged is the ladder? Can we all climb up? Just one rung has been broken. Yes on being able to climb back up. Q: Do the 9 barrels contain anything inside? You open the spicket of one of the wine barrels and out poors what appears to be red wine.

As you stand around watching Sarg Kulo, the others begin checking the other barrels. Opening each spicket, you discover that three of the nine barrels are empty. Also, as you are checking each barrel, XWingYoda notices something shiny under one of the barrels. He reaches down to discover a small gold scarab ring highlighted with turquoise.

Could this means that someone, who loves Egyptian antiques, went down here to drink 3 barrels of wine, and was drunk enough to loose his/her ring ???? I don't think that sounds very conclusive nor probable !!!! There should be a reason for someone to have gone downstairs in the first place !!!! Either this small room has a secret passage to another room, or the person who went down here poisoned the wine and/or food !!!! Mister Brickster, is the barrel where I found this magnificent antique is full or empty ?? I just hope that the wine is not poisoned for Mister Kulo !!! It would be a shame after this dreadfull enter into the cellar !!! I would suggest that we find a rat or some animal to use as wine tasters, if they die, this mystery is solved !!! Mister Brickster, I suggest that we thoroughly check this room to see if we did not let a single parcel untouched!!! We have to make sure there are no more secret passages here !!!!!

Seeing as a scarab (dung beetle) is a rather common motif for tourist traps, I wonder about the authenticity of this ring. If it is authentic, what are the markings on it? What do they represent? In addition, it seems that larger scarab sculptures with heiroglyphics on them are a more common form in Ancient Egypt--a bit like an announcement of sorts. And Athos? Scarabs don't eat people. They eat crap. That's why they're often called DUNG beetles. ;)

WesternOutlaw Posted July 15, 2005 Author Posted July 15, 2005 The ring looks fairly old, but you can't really tell if it's authentic or not. Appears that there may have been an inscription on the underside of the ring, but unfortunately worn off.

I suggest we all go up in inspect the last room to be searched on this floor.
