Mr. Lego-builder Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 So many choices...what do the rest of you think? I personally say we should try the attic. It wouldn't take that long to search the attic, would it?
Athos Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Lets keep going, and then we can work our way back to the tower Steve
Mr. Lego-builder Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Sure. Let's keep going if you want to. WE are going to eventually visit every place there is to visit, so why not make the best of it? ;)
xwingyoda Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 And you think that means you can just slack off for the rest of the mystery? ;)Steve Whatever, suffering from memory loss are you ??? >-| Lets continue walking South on the catwalk till we see every single possibilities offered to us !!! Let the tour continue !!!
WesternOutlaw Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 You reach the Southwest corner of the roof then turn carefully to the East along the front (south-side) of the mansion. You pass five large ornate stone structures along the front of the mansion and continue walking East until you reach the Southeast corner. You turn again and head North toward the tower. The catwalk narrows around the tower and you carefully proceed. On the North side of the tower is a single wooden door. You can attempt to open the door or head West along the catwalk to the trap door were you started.
xwingyoda Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 So many posibilities !!!!! Where shall we start ????? Shall we start from the very beginning of our wlaking tour, or the very end ??? Before trying to open any doors, I would rather inspect carefully the five large ornate stone structures we have justseen !!
WesternOutlaw Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 You inspect the stone structures very carefully. They appear to be more for design than structure. Nothing peculiar about them.
Athos Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 What do these structures look like? Are they like eaves above windows, or what? Steve
WesternOutlaw Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 You may at this time try opening the door to the attic on the West side of the mansion or opening the door on the North side of the tower. >-|
Athos Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Attic, then if as I suspect it will be locked. The tower, which I also suspect will be locked... Steve
Darkie Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 So? We have a key, yes? So lets try the key in the doors IF they are locked. You won't know until we try.
WesternOutlaw Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 Both doors appear to be unlocked. Where would you like to go first?
xwingyoda Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I'm up for it !! We have to start somewhere anyway !! Up the attic we go...
Mr. Lego-builder Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Sheesh! How big is this mansion, exactly? *wacko* ;)
Athos Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Must be pretty big. I think Pete might be lost, because its been quite a while we've been standing here on the roof waiting to go into the attic. Well I just hope it doesn't start to rain... Steve
WesternOutlaw Posted September 10, 2005 Author Posted September 10, 2005 The Attic The small oak door to the attic creaks open. Inside is a large dark, damp, and dusty attic space with a few tables and shelves that hold a collection of nautical items including the following: Brass port and starboard lanterns (with red and green lenses) Wooden ship's wheel with brass center Small wooden chest with metal studs Brass ship's clock Lead pipe Marine sextant in mahogany box Large fishing net hanging from the ceiling Iron cannon (without wooden base) - no cannon balls Large wooden sea chest Small wooden ship replica labelled, "Barbep 1847" Three glass ball buoys Small pile of old wood
xwingyoda Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Interesting collection here !!! There are severa objects that I would like to investigate in depth !!! First the Lead pipe. Are there any specific markings on each end or any fingerprints ??? Could we open the Small wooden chest with metal studs and the Large wooden sea chest ??? Can we look inside the Iron cannon ?? The wooden ship replica seems interesting !!!! it has a 4 digit number. Can we open something inside the boat ?? I am sure that number means something !!!
Darkie Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 This is not the first mystery to see the Barbep, who sank in 1847. Who's wreckage was discovered by Phes and Blackbeard, who brought up the items (possibly) from the wreckage. Are these nautical things from that wreckage? In any case, this was a big clue on the Train, where Bloody Jay was the murderer. And Akkhraziel figured it out. Perhaps the key would open the chests?
WesternOutlaw Posted September 11, 2005 Author Posted September 11, 2005 First the Lead pipe. Are there any specific markings on each end or any fingerprints ??? The pipe is covered in dust. It appears that it has not been picked up for some time. Could we open the Small wooden chest with metal studs and the Large wooden sea chest ??? The small wooden chest has no lock. You open it and find a small newspaper clipping (see below) and a silver key. The large sea chest is locked with a heavy padlock. Can we look inside the Iron cannon ?? Yes, some rust, but nothing inside. The wooden ship replica seems interesting !!!! it has a 4 digit number. Can we open something inside the boat ?? I am sure that number means something !!! You can attempt to break/smash it. The ship has no compartments or anything to open.
WesternOutlaw Posted September 11, 2005 Author Posted September 11, 2005 History of the Barbep Inside the small wooden box is a yellow newspaper clipping that reads the following: According to the 1846 treaty, Great Britain was to relinquish all naval control over the coast and order British ships to return to England. One such ship, the Barbep, captained by Abraham Wallace, was one of the last British ships in the Northwest American territory. It was rumored that Wallace disobeyed orders and was bound for Portland to meet with the Assistant Governor of the Humson Bay Company to arrange a
Darkie Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 This silver key. I'd like to see if it works on the padlock. Also, when we make it back down, I'd like to try it at the locked bedroom door and the locked gate down below the kitchen. Also, forgive my ignorance. Have we yet established how Mr. Crowley made his fortune? Perhaps those two treasure hunters were not the first to dive on the wreckage?
WesternOutlaw Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 The silver key does not unlock the old sea chest.
