Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Well, there are two options; one, to stay inside the mansion; or two, to go outside. I suggest to futher explore deeper into the mansion (if it goes any futher), or if we have reached the deepest end of the mansion, we should go upstairs. Now, where are the staircases in this mansion?
The Middleman Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Well, there are two options; one, to stay inside the mansion; or two, to go outside. I suggest to futher explore deeper into the mansion (if it goes any futher), or if we have reached the deepest end of the mansion, we should go upstairs. Now, where are the staircases in this mansion? The only one we've encountered was in the great hall, leading upstairs.
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Then what are we waiting for? Proceed to the main hall and go upstairs! -OR- We cango outside. It's the group's decison, so give The Brickster your opinions! What's your decison do far, Bloody Jay?
The Middleman Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 It stands to reason that if the (possible) killer was in the dining room, they may have been in the nearby overhang as well. I suggest we take that route, but send only a couple people, and be very cautious about the whole thing. A cliffside seems the ideal opportunity for something 'unfortunate' to happen.
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Yes, 'unfortunate' like the classic old 'cracking, breaking, and falling' cliff routine. :| I might want to stay in here...where it is safe, but then again, getting involved into this whole mystery in unsafe...
Athos Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Lets go check around outside, while we're here. Don't want to have to back track. I suggest we split into two groups. One group will go outside and look. The other will stay back and the door to make sure it doesn't get blown shut and locks us out. And for heaven's sake, don't get too close too the edge. (Images of "Hot Lead Cold Feet" flashing through my head, as I speak) Steve
xwingyoda Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I think I'll stay in and wonder on all these Egyptian clues: the ring (that is still in mu possession) and those carved symbols. I have a question I would like to submit to you people: does the scaraab (the symbol of the ring) represent a hieroglyph ??? If so, we would have our forth symbol to complete the three found on the chairs. I am a total neophyte concerning Egyptian writing and alphabet. Maybe Miss Darkie and Mister Jipay can stay with me because they seem quite knowledgeable on this subject. Mister Athos, we will make sure those doors remain open.
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I'll go outside, then...Besides, what could happen? :^^D
xwingyoda Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Mister Bildur, may I encourage you not to go out alone for safety reasons. You should be with someone just in case.
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Of course! I would want to stay in here, but, since almost half of the group is staying in here, I shall be the first to suggest to go outside. Who wants to go with me? (Hopefully somebody will want to...)
xwingyoda Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Mister Bildur, if no one wants to venture outside, I shall go with you.
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 How nice of you, Yoda. However, if you don't want to go, then it is perfectly fine by me. I'll just stay inside with you guys then. ;)
xwingyoda Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Well, Mister Bildur, it seems our team of Eurodectives is really silent lately, maybe the are frozen to death in such mansion. I say we shall explore the grassy area together. Mister Brickster will lead the way out.
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Alright, then! Lead the way, Mr. Brickster! Watch your step!
Darkie Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 has anybody noticed Kali is missing ? Anyway, I think
WesternOutlaw Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 On the Cliff, Ouside the Dining Room Mr. Lego Builder and Xwingyoda cautiously step outside the french doors leading to the space overlooking the cliff. A dark turbulent ocean cracks against the jagged rocks below. A cold sea breeze rips through your clothing as you stand on the grassy cliff side... *wacko*
Athos Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 And they represent the sounds for K, A, L, and I. Kali, perhaps? Uh-oh. :o Anyone else reminded of the Temple of Doom? Wasn't it Kali that they were sacrificing people too? Steve P.S. Cover your heart, Indy! Your heart!
Akkhraziel Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Kali: Female Hindu deity that embodies descruction. This involves both what would we would perceive as destruction as well as the destruction of ignorance, and it is the latter that is the reason that the black mother (Kali Ma) is well respected by seekers of enlightenment/ the divine nature in Hindu culture. Incidentally, the city of Calcutta is named for her, by tradtion. Incidentally, again, many depcitions of Kali show her with six arms. Akkh
Mr. Lego-builder Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Mr. Lego Builder and Xwingyoda cautiously step outside the french doors leading to the space overlooking the cliff. A dark turbulent ocean cracks against the jagged rocks below. A cold sea breeze rips through your clothing as you stand on the grassy cliff side... *wacko* So is there anything of interest/clues out here? If not, let's head back in before we get torn apart by this strong wind... As for the 'Kali' mystery, can anyone see how it can fit into this mystery? Why is it carved into the chairs? Could it be a clue or just a coincident that it is there? As Athos said, sacrificing could also fit in. But then again, we will have the problem figuring out what this might mean...
snefroe Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 hm... these hieroglyphs may be a cartouche, a name of a pharaoh. they are very often the key to identifying graves of important people in ancient egypt. i don't really see the link between kali and egypt, i mean a hindu godess doesn't really have anything to do with egypt...
snefroe Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 ok... i've read the entire tread now... hm, people ... i guy is missing and all you can think off is food and a fireplace... what i would like to check is if this Crowley is in the house or not. where does he leave his shoes, coats, umbrellas and are those items all there... this is an old house, right? it's bound to have secret rooms. i'd like to go and check the basement again. perhaps these empty barrels hide an entrance to a room... or the basement floor... i'd also like to check the rest of the house quickly, so we can establish that he's not in the house, at least not in the rooms we find. btw, is crowley an art collector, or what?
xwingyoda Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Well, I concur with Mister Bildur, I'm freezing outside, the wind is really crying Mary !!!! Lets head back inside at once !!!! I suggest we should go to the second floor and keep the discoveries coming, the pieces of the puzzle will naturally present themeselves. Mister Brickster, lead the way please. While waiting for some movement, I am trying to remeber a book I read recently on hieroglyphs. I was under the assumption that the hieroglyphic script has 24 main symbols. If I remember well, the lion is not one of those symbols. So if we take the 4 symbols found, we should have this translation: W-KI. The quail symbol represent a W, I think. Are the Egyptologues here can confirm what I recall ?? So if I am right, I don't see the point of discussing KALI. We have two egyptian clues so far, both clues were not supposed to be in the mansion on the first place: the ring was found in the wine cellar and the symbols were carved. The cold has a strong tendency to make we wonder a lot. I just remembered a discussion about a skeleton key !!! That is interesting because I recall seeing a preview of that movie at the office and the story is intreguing !!!! The heroin acquires a skeleton key and finds herself in a bizarre mansion !! She discovers a secret room within the attic with a lot of scary objects !!! Hummmm, I wonder what we'll find with this key.
WesternOutlaw Posted July 23, 2005 Author Posted July 23, 2005 Back in the Cellar Snoefroe was the 1st to recommend a place to lead the group which is the wine cellar once again; followed by Xwingyoda who wants to go up the stairs. In order of the requests, the group follows Snoefroe back to the kitchen, down the ladder to the cellar. The cellar contains nine large oak barrels and a few crates filled with rotten potatoes, vegetables, and some canned food. Three of the nine barrels appeared to be empty when opening the spickets. Sarge Kulo tested the wine in one of the barrels which appeared to be fine. No evidence of rats in the cellar.
Darkie Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Snefro--These are not of a cartouche. Otherwise, there would be certain identifying symbols, which are missing. The Kali connection came from Jipay's comment that Kali was missing. Is she not another silent participant in our mystery? Athos was simply discussing his blasted Indy Jones theories again. ;) I doubt it has anything to do with that.
WesternOutlaw Posted July 23, 2005 Author Posted July 23, 2005 Index I've added another topic called CLUES Index which is a Table of Contents based on each room and find (labelling each section in the story). This may help you in going back to read clues and finding other information without reading several pages. Links have been provided to main rooms. Also, when examining any room for clues, secret passages, and other "hidden" objects, you need to be specific in what you do to find these. Just stating, "I'll look for clues" or "I'll check for secret passages", will not generally reveal anything.
