Indeed Mister Jay, that is what I wanted to do but Mister Sne wanted to visit the cellar onece more. I should be grateful if you could lead the way up the stairs to the next room.

i'd like to see if there's a hidden passage downstairs in the basement, behind one of those empty barrels, for instance. if the owner of the house is not in his house and he's not outside, then he's gotta be in a hidden room somewhere, dead or alive. and some one has obviously been in the basement, how else can a ring be lying on the floor? some one lost it there! how do you loose a ring in a basement if all you can do there is walk around and look at the barrels. my guess is that he or she lost it while he/she was moving/removing something... i also find it strange that 1 man has 9 barrels of wine, instead of a 1000 bottles of wine or so....

Mister Sne, I was under the assumption that we all decided to stay together for safety reasons. Also Mister Brickster told us that no maps were available during our quest. (However, check the Index).

Snefroe attempts to push the three empty barrels that are attached to the walls. They do not budge.

Q: do we have a map of all rooms, btw? we should also split up or this tour around the house will take ages.

A: You do not have a map of the mansion but can certainly make one as you visit each room. You can also return to a room merely by asking to go back to Room X.

In addition, I recommend the group stay together to put the clues together. In the future; however, I won't keep the group waiting if someone wants to continue.

Trap Door to Darkness

Xwingyoda; however, has asked: could we try quickly before going to the second floor turning the pouring mechanism of the three empty barrels?

Xwingyoda turns the spicket of the 1st barrel. It turns and nothing happens. He then turns the spicket of the 2nd (middle) barrel and slowly... a large piece of floor tile next to the barrel opens downward revealing a narrow staircase.

Rather surprised over this secret passage, you all begin climbing downward. . . only to discover that it is pitch black. . .

The sound of dripping water can be heard echoing in the dark. The air is cold and damp. Does anyone have a light? 8-|

How intreguing is this new discovery !!!!! I shall be more carefull in the future looking closely at a room instead of having to go back.

I suggest that we all go up to the second floor since we dont have a light with us, its probably not very safe to venture in the dark in a total unknown place !!!

We can always go back once we find a light !!!

*Akkh reaches up under the edge of his jingasa and produces a small scorpion light.*

Here, I make it a point to keep this on me in my travels, you never know when you will be trying to read an ancient manuscript several meters under the earth, need to direct traffic (you'd be surprised how often this comes up) or use it to signal planes for pick up or rescue.

Subterranean Passage

The small scorpion light provides just enough light to see a few feet in front of you. You slowly walk down the steps that lead into a cavern, Akkhraziel taking the lead. Drip... drip... drip... you here in the distance. The temperature has fallen a few more degrees.

You continue to walk along this subterranean passage which widens to an area where you see three large wooden barrels to your right. Ahead of you, the passage narrows into darkness...

I suggest that we explore those barrels !!!

Are they closed or open?? If they are closed, are they sealed in some way ??

In the case they are open, are they empty?? If they are not empty, what do they contain ??

Can we move them??

Are there any inscriptions on those barrels??

Are there any other particularities ??

Scorpion light? Reading ancient manuscripts underground? Sounds like we might have an archeologist in our midst? You didn't perchance lose a scarab ring while murdering a millionare, did you?

Interesting indeed. If he was to murder Mr. Crowley in the wine cellar, persay, would he have hidden the body in this secret passage? So, where is the body now? Is it found, in the autopsy room or still missing? If it is still "at large" there might be a grusome discovery in one of those barrels.

The Dead Body of Dorian Crowley

As you slowly walk toward the barrels in search of more clues, you notice something or someone lying on the floor to the right of the barrels.

You discover the very thin body of an old man in a gray pin-striped suit whose face is almost skeletal. His stark black hair contrasts with his pale white skin.

Pete bends down touching the man's neck to feel his pulse and states, "appears that this is old man Crowley and he is most definately dead". "I have a hunch that foul play is at hand"; he adds as he looks at each of you rather suspiciously, especially Bloody Jay.

In looking at the body of Mr. Crowley, you notice a few strange things. He has a large bump on the front of his head, as if someone or something struck him with a hard object; and his shoes are half off.

Holy megablock! :oo

But wait one minute, here! Is this the only sign of injuries made to Mr. Crowley? Should we, um, futher examine the body? (Don't invade his privacy or aggravate the dead though! They can be a powerful force, not to be reckoned with! :^D )

EDIT: On second thought, look in the pockets and the shoes. Also, the bump on the head could either be a huge clue, or just misc. information. This also goes for the statement brought upon Bloody Jay...

Just my thoughts on this matter...

Could be. I suppsoe we'll have to see how this plays out, won't we. I could be a cold blooded murderer, or I could simply be a scholar. Though to speak bluntly, that doesn't look like my work, and Ancient Egypt, while I have spent some time on it, is not the forte of my studies. Take that for what its worth.

*chuckles and goes back to looking at the body*
