DJ Force Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I just recieved the poll.... and I picked robots. Yep, so did I. Quote
adik_sa_lego Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 i hope the robots theme would look closer to the exoforce theme rather than bionicle. something like gundam or voltron or transformers. :D Quote
Tohst Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 What if by 'Animals', they meant something like Fabuland? Just a thought. Since I apparently did not get an e-mail asking me to vote despite all the e-mails I get asking me to buy things I'll just vote here unofficially. Exo-Force just got discontinued and I would think Robots would be too much like that. Wild West was done before and while it didn't get nearly the variety of sets it should have, I imagine it still wouldn't. So, simply because I don't know what it means, I'd go with 'Animals' and hope it isn't like those Dinosaur sets that were pretty awful. -Tohst Quote
Big Pete Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 the vote was in an e-mail called " See New LEGO Indiana Jones & Speed Racer Sets, Plus Much More" from Lego S@H I voted Wild West ... as that would be cool :D Quote
Dufresne Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 (edited) Did I miss something? Every Redwall book I read had lots of death and battles. Ain't that the truth. Redwall was one of my favorite series when I was younger and looking back I'm a bit amazed at how bloody they were. (I stopped reading when I got old enough to realize they all had pretty much the same plot.) A LEGO theme could be pretty cool though. Like castle meets Fabuland. Even so, I voted Wild West. Athos Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I haven't gotten any survey. Was there any indication of what type of set an animals theme would be? Creator-like constructed animals or a zoo/safari? Simply animals is pretty broad and vague. Wild West would be great too. Robots, in my opinion, is the only loser in that list. Steve Quote
filefolders Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Wild West! Wild West! Weld Wist! (typo intended) Need I explain? It's frickin' cowboys and Indians and Union soldiers! Quote
Holodoc Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I finally got the survey, too! So it does NOT seem to be U.S. only. WW all the way, Baby. Quote
Athos Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Richard AM from classic-castle posted a picture of the survey: Since its through the factory, they won't have new molds, so I think the animals and robots would be creator style non-minifig sets. Steve Quote
Norro Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 (I stopped reading when I got old enough to realize they all had pretty much the same plot.) But it was done so well God Bless, Nathan Quote
medib Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I voted for Wild West for the same basic rationelle that was already mentioned. a) mainly because Wild West would have the best chance to include minifigs in the pallette. b) they have had robots and animals in creator sets, so why concentrate on making a theme in factory... there should be enough parts in the pallette to make "sets" (using brick-built solutions.) Cardinal Brick Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I finally got the poll today, I voted for Wild West, I own most of the original theme but I thought it had far to short a run, so I’d like to see it back. Animals was a bit vague I might have voted for that had there been some details, the same with Robots. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Thank you very much for that new, Mr. Mandalorian! I finally got the survey, too!So it does NOT seem to be U.S. only. WW all the way, Baby. Did you receive the Email yesterday or already some days before? (Hopefully I didn't eliminate it because of thinking that it only will be ad - that would have been really of me!) For me of course: Wild West! How amazing and  would be a comeback of the WW theme! Great to see TLG being interested in our wishes  - and I think TLg surely won't rue bringing back the Wild West theme ! Klaus-Dieter Quote
Lanker Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Excuse me but I am new in the AFOL-world: what does TLC stand for? I am guessing Traditional LEGO Creation. Kind regards, Lanker Quote
Inertia Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Got it, Robots for me, Maybe like a new space theme or something If I hadn't read this I would've voted for animals in the hope of Fabuland... Aren't LEGO releasing a new Story theme next year? This could be it? Quote
Asuka Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Excuse me but I am new in the AFOL-world: what does TLC stand for? Well.... you´re not able to follow our mysterious language...? Hmm.... then what´re you doing here in our brotherhood? Hey, wait.... does this mean you don´t know our secret handshake either? And how did you make it through our entrance examination, huh? Show me your ritual scars! To the paddles! Na, seriously.... The Lego Company.... and here´re the links to our Glossary and to our pretty helpful Tutorials Index. But you know.... hush-hush! Quote
Wilhelm screamer Posted May 24, 2008 Posted May 24, 2008 While I voted robots, (don't know why though) I am willing to bet my lunch money that "animals" means "Fabuland 2.0." Quote
Athos Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 While I voted robots, (don't know why though) I am willing to bet my lunch money that "animals" means "Fabuland 2.0." I'd take that bet. Steve Quote
hollisbrick Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Wow. Really? That's amazing. I've been reading Redwall since I was five... That'd be right up TLC's alley, too- It's a very non-violent, good series, great for kids though the animals would be hard to make. But, this is a Factory theme, and that would be a license theme. Who or what is a REDWALL???? Anyway I'd go WW because we just had robats (EF) and animals...WTF lol Quote
Hinckley Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 While I voted robots, (don't know why though) I am willing to bet my lunch money that "animals" means "Fabuland 2.0." What what what? I doubt that. I bet anything it just means more brick-built dinosaurs or lions or wolves, etc. It seems the new Factory sets they release are trying to use as much of the existing palette as possible. I'm basing that on Admiral Giddens and Grand Admiral's posts about the process of designing the Factory Space Sets. Fabuland is so specific and only hits a small age range, 3-6 and 30+ I doubt LEGO will bring it back, but if they do and I'm not involved, I will totally cry myself to sleep. Quote
Wilhelm screamer Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) When I said "Fabuland 2.0," I was referring to a theme that would be similar to Fabuland, but not Identical. Edited May 25, 2008 by Wilhelm screamer Quote
M'Kyuun Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) i hope the robots theme would look closer to the exoforce theme rather than bionicle. something like gundam or voltron or transformers. :D QFT! I saw 'robots' in there and everything else just faded out of existence. For me, there is absolutely nothing more boring and pointless than either the Wild West or animals. Better designed battle suits would be cool, but a transforming line would be my lifelong dream come true. I've mentioned it before, but if Tobey MacGuire successfully brings live-action Robotech to the big screen, i hope TLC rides the merchandising wave. A fully transforming VF-1 with fast packs, if done well, would be a huge seller, i think. I definitely think it would do better than Speed Racer, which is a bit more obscure and much cheesier. i wonder, though, how they'd make a Zentraedi fig..that'd be one BIG mini-figure. Voltron would be neat, but there's just something really awesome about realistic fighters becoming very poseable robots with armor. Edited May 25, 2008 by M'Kyuun Quote
