Posted May 22, 200816 yr A lot of people agree that Mars Mission is looking great this year, and may even be starting to look like true Space. But I'm really wondering - what do you want TLC to do in 2009? I think it's a safe bet that we'll see some kind of space related theme next year, but there are different possibilities. Personally, I voted for the last option, because I think that whatever TLC does, it will be good. The second mars mission wave completely renewed my already strengthened faith in them.
May 22, 200816 yr I said more Mars Mission, although I'd really love to see a greater variety in faces around now. It gets bothersome getting the same astronauts again and again. Perhaps if the theme is continued we might get a Jelly Base next year? Faramir

May 22, 200816 yr I love the Mars Mission line but I said a new space theme maybe like they expand to other planets but I hope Mars Mission can fit in with a new space theme like one of many factions .
May 22, 200816 yr I voted for a new them because 1. I'm not a big fan of trans orange and white and 2. with the stickers everywhere it just looks a bit too busy. I much prefer the more classical look of the Factory Star Justice set (so I'm fortunate to have that choice). But on a positive not for the Mars Mission sets, they are at least improving the Martian minifigs. And as someone that grew up in the classic space era, I think if the kids like Mars Mission, they should keep it, because it was the sets from my childhood that re-kindled my interest later in life.
May 22, 200816 yr I voted for either Personally I think two years is a good run for any theme. It's probably good to put MM to bed and pick up a new space theme. At least for a few years, perhaps bring the Mars Mission look back in about five years with updated designs. That being said, I'd also love MM to continue with more great sets. Either way, I'd be pleased
May 22, 200816 yr i like the colour scheme - orange/ white/ gold visors/ trans blue detailing - but i agree with hewman that it should be retired. two years is enough. if they keep MM going, they should at least change the colours or shift focus in some way so it's not all about mining vehicles, energy crystals and imprisoning aliens. i also think the jelly ships have gone as far as they can go in terms of design and would prefer something fresh - on the plus side they've been consistent from a battlefleet point of view, on the downside they are a bit samey. I think 2 years is enough. Edited May 22, 200816 yr by svelte_corps
May 22, 200816 yr I go along with "either". The MM is doing quite well with its latest sets coming up this years, and it does look promising. However, as things goes. I will like to see how TLC is able to improve better on MM next year such as better aliens mini-fig, aliens base, etc. Otherwise, seeing a new space theme by aligning with Classic space type kind of look, I think it is not a bad idea too.
May 22, 200816 yr 2. with the stickers everywhere it just looks a bit too busy. I much prefer the more classical look of the Factory Star Justice set (so I'm fortunate to have that choice). The Star Justice sets are packed with a lot of stickers too. I reckon Mars Mission can continue through, they've improved greatly this year, and I just love the colour scheme, especially for the astronauts, namely because of the orange. I'd look forward next year to seeing the more organic side of the aliens ships, after all, they're supposed to be mechanic-organic creations, and I reckon a big serpent like jet or something with a face could be neat. And some cool new things for the humeys, maybe some more military based vehicles. ~Peace
May 22, 200816 yr I love the way Mars Mission is heading, but I would prefer that LEGO went more to it's roots... so I said another space theme. A new Insectoids or something along those lines would be wonderful. Don't get me wrong though, I love Mars Mission.

It's not the stickers per se (although give me printed bricks any day and I'll pay extra) but the design of the stickers that I don't particularly like. That and all the Martian ships are not appealing at all to me. But I'm very happy TLC has brought space back! Edited May 22, 200816 yr by hewman
May 22, 200816 yr I wasn't thrilled with Mars Mission, but I eventually warmed up to it. That being said, I wouldn't mind something new after that drill-walker-tank thing hits... it's gorgeous. A perfect high note for the theme to end on. Bring on whatever's next! (I'm hoping it's got at least ... oh, let's say two Gerry Anderson homages. Much love to the Eagle. )
May 22, 200816 yr Call me oldfashioned, but I don´t like MM too much. I bought the smallest set to give the theme a chance, but somehow it lacks some realism, especially when it comes to cockpit design. I´d love to see a new installment of Exo Force. Maybe not in 2009 yet, but that line still has so much to give, so many possibilities, and we still need a Robot base.
May 22, 200816 yr While I appreciate that the Mars Mission theme contains both humans and aliens, I really think the Space theme should be expanded without moving on from Mars Mission. Consider that there was a time when Futuron, Blacktron, M:Tron, and Space Police themes were all available at once. I'd like to see Lego continue the Mars Mission theme, introduce a little variety to the alien sets, then expand to some additional Space faction(s).
May 22, 200816 yr I'm happy with Mars Mission continuing into 2009. But I would like to see a new space theme start after that, something more akin to what Lego did with Star Justice and Space Skulls.
May 22, 200816 yr I just am not a big fan of Mars Mission. It does not seem to be designed well besides the little sets. I bought the trike because it was like a new version of the T-3 Trike which I like. Besides that I only bought the $5 fighter craft. I would really prefer something more classic. I drool when I see classic space sets but I am unfazed by Mars Mission. Besides the jellies don't have any freaking arms! Better yet, bring back Pirates.
May 23, 200816 yr New theme as well. I would love a Space Pirate theme, that would be lovely! I love how MM is going too though. Batbrick Away!
May 23, 200816 yr I´d love to see a new installment of Exo Force. Maybe not in 2009 yet, but that line still has so much to give, so many possibilities, and we still need a Robot base. Isn't the Mobile Devastator and Striking Venom good enough for you? Well... I suppose you're right, but wasn't Striking venoms alternate model a base? I voted for a new theme, Mars Mission was a rip off of older sets... For example... is a rip off of this: There's a few others as well. Personally I would like to see something like Futuron or Blacktron II... Maybe Space Police and M:Tron too...
May 24, 200816 yr Isn't the Mobile Devastator and Striking Venom good enough for you? Umm... no Having a limited number of sets is never enough! Well... I suppose you're right, but wasn't Striking venoms alternate model a base? Kind of. It was called Frontline Barricade, and that´s what it was. No real base, but at least a good and big playset. However, every year we get a new Police station for example. Seems enough now, too. Doesn´t it? I´m just too sad that EF is cancelled, I´m only bs-ing around.
May 24, 200816 yr I'm fine with either. The Mars Mission Stuff looks good this year but any new space is generally a good thing. Then again I doubt Uranus Mission would sell well.
