Posted July 8, 20204 yr I have started making the HLE 25 from the NMBS for my NS, NMBS Benelux train set. This was a bit of a challenge because of the sloped front. I'm posting this to show you the progress and for feedback. I have the idea that mine looks different than the real thing. 8-wide would be easier to make more details but I decided to stick to 6-wide. The inverted slopes behind the front coupling are attached to the bogie. Also a small detail that is hard to make is the yellow line. Because of the 2 x 1 x 2 slopes I can't make a yellow line. If anyone has some ideas for me or things that I can do to make it look better, feel free to tell me (Also, this engine will be made specially to be fitted with PF) Edited July 8, 20204 yr by gvb2003
July 8, 20204 yr Nice work, I like the (relatively) small scale. As for the yellow stripe, would the following work? I don't know how much space you've got inside the cab. (Those are yellow 2x2 corner plates attached to a dark blue 1x2 brick with studs on one side, in case it's not clear) Comparing your model to the prototype, I think the main difference is the cab windows - a little SNOT building should allow you to get the front windows to be larger and split down the middle, and I feel the door windows are a bit too large compared to the portholes. However the portholes themselves and the side grilles are good, and the underfame detail is simple but it works well on this model. Do you plan to build it in real bricks at some point?

Thanks for your help, this looks very nice. I have enough space in the cab for this idea. 1 hour ago, Shiva said: For the headlights, maybe a Plate, Modified 1 x 2 Rounded with 2 Open Studs ? I was thinking about this, this looks better
