Capt Wolf Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 The sign-up deadline for the next Trade MRCA is July 28, midnight, anywhere in the world. ---------------- To sign-up for the Trade MRCA, read the rules here and then sign-up via this form. For a ship to take part in the MRCA, it must be licensed. You can license your ship under the new ship rules via this form. If there are any issues (typo, wrong number of points or other issues) with this process, PM @Bregir. Note that the MRCA signup form still doesn’t have raids added yet, so if you’re interested in conducting a raid this turn, PM @Capt Wolf. If you’re just going to be trading, you can go ahead and fill out the forms normally. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT MAP ZONE INFORMATION: - Note that zone 34 connects to zone 36 - Explorers have confirmed that the open sea south of zone 35 is navigable. As such, zone 62 (unmarked on map) is available for travel in the MRCA. Zone 62 connects to zones 33, 35, 37, and 38. Cartographers are working to get the maps updated as soon as possible. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In addition to the information above, consult the following two maps for trade zone numbers before submitting any forms. First, the continental coast and the seas closest to northern Halos: IMPORTANT: Note that if you click on the above map to go to one you can zoom in on, there is an error on the linked map (zones 10 and 11 are mislabeled). Use the map visible above for proper zone labels. Second, here is the map for the New Haven Sea, which has a growing number of settlements: Note that Corrington's Proxyville (zone 49) has changed its name to Port Mordo, and that Eslandola has established a new settlement -- Punto Sur -- in zone 42 on the southwest coast of Maldria. Cartographers hope to have the map updated next month. Beware that the Lotus Kingdom is still engaged in hostilities with Carno and Corrington. Dangers abound in the waters around El Oleonda. Watch out for Lotus naval patrols! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And here (courtesy of @Ayrlego's hard work!) are the trade values as of July 13, 620. (Trade values for NPC and Old World ports are as of February 14, 619, and haven't had their trade values updated yet). When filling out your MRCA form, please make sure you spell the ports exactly as they appear below. But this is for pirates only. Ships not flying the black visiting Barracuda Bay will likely be captured by Captain Roger Redbeard! Quote
Ayrlego Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Also, the account summary should be finalised in the next couple of days - certainly before the MRCA deadline! Quote
Professor Thaum Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Sorry, but I'm always puzzled by the trading value of the ports... a 500 seemed to be a high top and now I saw some 1000+. Quote

Trade values rise over time, and it's been a long time since we had accurate trade values to report. That said, it does seem like some values have gotten awfully high, and we're looking at making some adjustments to the formula to stabilize values a bit. Don't get too hung up on the numbers for now, and just consider it a way to compare ports. Quote

Darnok Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Well, according to its story so far, Mesabi Landing has two ports, and a massive city behind them. The trade value finally reflects that - and I hope more people take the opportunity to make some good deals there! Quote
Ayrlego Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 7 hours ago, Professor Thaum said: Many score seems off boundaries in regards of value off similar other ports (same mean age, comparable properties, etc etc) Trade value is calculated based on the tables here. Basically each property size has a corresponding trade value that is added to the settlement. The bigger the property the higher the value. So settlements with more large/royal properties will have a higher trade value than a corresponding settlement comprised of mainly small properties. What the current values don't take into account, (an oversight on my part) is the settlement status modifier in the first table in the above link. Thus the value for a Large city as it appears currently should be multiplyed by 0.5 to get the correct figure. I can easily correct this oversight, but I didn't want to mess things up with Capt Wolf an the tMRCA who had already published the trade values. My recommendation would be to leave them for this trade run and correct for the next one. The values will all be lowered if I correct them, but the settlements should roughly still rank about the same. Quote
Professor Thaum Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 STOOOOP. I didn't want to light the touch paper, it was just a thought. Never mind, the court has enough to do. ... and I never looked at the port value to set a trade course for any of my ships. Quote

Ayrlego, if you want to go ahead and correct the trade values before the MRCA deadline, go ahead. I can republish the corrected values, and everyone is aware of what is going on. As you said, relative value of settlements should be unchanged, which is the main thing for players who take trade values into account when planning for the MRCA. Quote
Darnok Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 (edited) Some shameless advertising, also to be found in the upcoming WTCM: Quote Honour the trade! Build and license a scene in Mesabi Landing depicting a trade deal* during the month of September** 620, and the WTC will pay the license cost for you. This offer stands for any type of one land property other than fortifications, for small, medium or large properties. * related to the TMRCA from July 28th ** possibly October if the KPA is delayed What does that mean? Well, you would have to: Send at least one vessel to trade in Mesabi Landing for the upcoming TMRCA turn (deadline: 28th of July) Build a scene depending on how that trade went... ... where it does not really matter how the deal went, feel free to be creative and build whatever you find suitable! The type of property is up to you, same as its size. Have said scene posted and licensed during September - so with enough time after the TMRCA outcome... ... assuming everything goes smoothly. In case of a delayed outcome, the offer will be extended to October. You would then get the license fee paid back from the WTC account - i.e. a free property for you. P.S.: Keep in mind that Mesabi Landing has quite a weird "tax" for ships trading there. No risk, no fun! Edited July 17, 2020 by Darnok Quote
Corweena Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 Well then.....maybe I will have to adjust course. Quote
Darnok Posted July 20, 2020 Posted July 20, 2020 Well, I hope to catch a few birds with this one stone. Not only would it help newer players (by paying their license fee), it would also bring some activity to Mesabi Landing in both trade and builds. I quite liked the last challenge were you had to build according to MRCA outcomes - it gives more meaning to what would otherwise just be numbers in a spreadsheet, and brings more builds to the forum. Win-win-win in my opinion. Quote
