Posted July 20, 20204 yr Hello there! Here is my second iteration of one of my favorite ships of Star Wars -- the Delta-7 Aethersprite Delta-7 Jedi Starfighter. @khatmorg & @atlas_er are big influences on this design -- especially the cockpit area of @khatmorg's, and the wings by @atlas_er. Biggest difference in mine is the overall length; it's shorter by two studs (which I think is more accurate). Making it a little smaller in comparison, but still has a lot of detail. Overall I'm really happy with how it came out. I tried my best to eliminate all gaps, and make it smooth as possible. I've very proud of the green accent on the back wings, and how I was able to keep the front wing/hood area smooth. The only thing I'm bummed about is that I couldn't squeeze in rear landing gear, but I love how the smooth underside came out. And the little bit of stickering on the back section to better convey the curve of the green. It's quite sturdy, but it does have some weakish points in the design. Thanks for checking it out! July 20, 20204 yr Fantasic MOC. The underside is great, the shaping is great and that centre section is just *chef's kiss*!
July 20, 20204 yr This is really well done, just a bit smaller than most Delta-7 mocs but the perfect size, overall small flat and sleek like it appears when Obi-Wan is standing beside it on Geonosis. Great job :)
July 27, 20204 yr Really nice work on this, like the Hasbro version the engines were the rear stand! The smooth underside looks fantastic

Maybe -- I would consider it if I got enough requests.

August 2, 20204 yr This topic has only just come to my attention but I’m always a fan of a nice Aethersprite. Congrats on a great build. So glad the introduction of new pieces has enabled better color blocking. Great MOC and thanks for sharing!

October 1, 20213 yr Hello, I'm not sure if you're still around, but wanted to say that I'm also interested in any instructions or ldd

However, I recently bought the new 3x3 curved slope corner pieces to redo the back of the tail area, which lead to me doing a complete overhaul of the model. The wings and undercarriage stayed relatively untouched, but I revamped the cockpit and tail areas. I was going to do a new post about it, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Here are a few pics -- I'm still tinkering with a couple things inside the cockpit, but I'm getting close to being done. I can't promise instructions anytime soon, but once I finish the instructions on my ETA-2 model I will start on this one. October 12, 20213 yr I really do like the use of the 3x3 curved slope from the space shuttle. It's basically a part that screams perfect for this application. And I'm loving the upgrades to the cockpit area. It looks even more sleek than it did before I had found your pictures on flicker of your previous version that you took while building. Gave some good insight on some of what you did for building. I ended up deciding to see what I could do with those pictures in studio and had some success, but had to make some guesses for the main body to get by. Some of the build techniques in the cockpit area took quite some time to ensure they didn't cause collision errors. Still haven't attempted the undercarriage, engines, and the bottom half of the tail fin. Having it sit next to the khatmorg model really showcases some of the changes you made that I really like. The lime green markings near the nose, the shorter length, and the changed wings all look very nice. And now with your reworked cockpit area, you've even added the red markings which is a detail my mind has always glossed over until now. Very well done incorporating it!
January 10, 20223 yr Author Hey Hey -- Since my last post, I made a bunch of adjustments, with a complete overhaul of almost everything. I was able to add more detail to the front, the bridge/cockpit area, tail, wings, and undercarriage. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and am excited to say that over the Christmas break I had some free time to crank out the STUD.io model AND instructions. My main reference was this 3-D model that I found -- https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/star-wars-delta-7-jedi-starfighter-053a14f9353a4f4aa6300fa0a398ffab -- but I've also found the image below useful. If you compare my model to the image below, you will see that the overall length is spot on, but the wing width is off by a hair. The only way to make the wings wider with the 3x6 wedge plates is to make it longer, with will make the model too long. I'm tempted to work with the 4x6 wedge plates, but not sure if that will work? I also decided to use the 3x3 cylinders for the engines, as that matches the 3-D model much better. The reference image below has the engines a little smaller, but I think the 3x3 engines look best. January 10, 20223 yr For giggles you should do the Hyperspace module too ;) (The ring) Great work either way!
January 10, 20223 yr I have also been considering trying the 6x4 plates for Anakin’s Delta 7. At the moment the dark red 6x4s are only available in the Republic Gunship. It looks impressive already though.
