Posted July 20, 20204 yr Here's a fictional English branch line station, set on the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in the early 1920s. It features interior and exterior lights, a removable roof, and my first fully tiled platform. Trackside view - the switch for the interior light is above the side window. Street side view: The switch for the exterior lights is just below the window. The interior - the brick-built doors open and the central floor plate is removable to access the battery. The phone box is based on the early K1 type, introduced in 1921 (when the L&YR was still extant). And finally, a couple shots with a train. The locomotive is based on the L&YR Class 27. One of my self-imposed constraints with this build was to only use parts that I already had, so I reluctantly stuck with studs. July 30, 20204 yr You definately did a great job with this. I love the English style design of both the station and the train. Looks like something I'd see on a BBC show or on Thomas & Friends. Love how you used James' basis btw. Are you from the UK by any chance? I've noticed that a lot of your MOCs are centered around British culture. Just thought I'd ask.

Thank you! I spent a lot of time combining various elements of English place names to come up with one that I liked. I had finally settled on "Abbot's Glen," thinking that sounded English, rural, and generic, and had a nice Medieval sound to it. Unfortunately, checking Google Earth revealed that that name was already in use...by an "inappropriate" resort in Vermont! Meeting someone named Stuart gave me the last bit of inspiration, so I changed it to "Steward's Glen" at the last minute!

Here's the station integrated into my layout: The whole thing is built on a 4'x4' piece of plywood, which can be stored under the guest bed on those rare occasions when I have company.
