I personally keep the ones I have on the ninjago city comic shop shelf, but if they add any more I'll have to find more space Yeah I knew about those but I don't really count them except one. That one is the Lloyd (sticker 31)
January 6, 20214 yr I was thinking about how the whole ninja aspect has kinda been almost forgotten in ninjago, story wise. The ninja are always riding around in mechs or flying ships, and almost every citizen in ninjago has heard of the ninja. While this does give us some amazing sets, one of the main things of being a ninja is not having an identity. The ninja are known throughout ninjago. The Lego ninjago movie did change this, and I did like the results, with no one knowing the ninja and seeing them struggle in school, only to be hero’s by night. I would love to see a season where the ninjas identity gets erased, or maybe they end up in an alternate realm where they don’t exist, but the rest of ninjago does. Would be interesting to say the least
January 7, 20214 yr Looks like the US winter 2021 catalogue is being sent out now, with Ninjago City Gardens in it. US price confirmed as $299.99, not the $349.99 that some people were suggesting. https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-71741-ninjago-city-gardens-us-price-revealed/

Other than when Nya fist became Samurai X, they’ve never tried to conceal their identities and they only actually wear their masks 1/4 of the time. Using mechs and vehicles have been a focal point since Season 1. I did like the movie’s stance on this, because Wu says at some point that their mechs don’t make them ninja or something along those lines. That’s one of the things the movie actually got right. Side note, but I hope we get a cool Ninjago promo this year to go with the 10 Year Anniversary. We haven’t gotten a single Ninjago promo since the when the Movie came out, unless there was some sort of Battle Pod that I’m forgetting about or something. Edited January 7, 20214 yr by The Stud

One area ninjago has definitely been lacking in is the promo side. Hoping we get something like that cool temple and cart that the Chinese new year sets are getting. The 10 year anniversary is acknowledged in the store calendar, but no promos are listed. Maybe a new promo line could be like the mini modulars, but for the ninjago modular series? It would be cool to have those lined up on a desk. ore southing to go with the gardens, like a small boat build like the one that came in the city. Major brainwave: a small build of the titanium ninja statue!

January 7, 20214 yr So we’re one week away from the VIP release! Man I wish we could get a good picture of the back side. I really want to see the actual garden part of the Gardens.
January 7, 20214 yr Pretty bizarre that it has not been revealed yet at one week before release, especially with them showing the set in the catalogue. Not sure there is any good reason for this honestly, it takes away a lot of the hype for me personally as I keep checking sources for new pictures but always end up disappointed. In addition, I really enjoy all of the discussion and hype after official reveal but that period will be very short if they don't reveal before the weekend.
January 7, 20214 yr Promobricks just confirmed they have received images of the ninjago city gardens packaging. Reveal is imminent hopefully. They have described a lot of things, like how the entire blue tower is apparently removable, all buildings are enclosed (no dollhouse style here!). On the ‘unknown quarter’ there is a built water base, much like what we saw with the city. I cannot wait for this set. One thing that struck me though that I just realised was that there isn’t a water way or canal for boats in the set. There’s the big water section at the back, but no small water way like the city from 2017. Kinda sad, as that was one of my favourite parts. The smaller tower has 4 floors as well. I’m gonna guess that that is the one on the left of the catalog pic. This also means members of LAN have got pics I guess, so their videos for the reveal are probably in the works, which means we could be seeing it in as little time as tomorrow! Super hyped!

Do you think we will get pics today? Also, are we all in agreement that this is built ideally to be to the right of the docks? It seems too perfect to be anything but the right corner piece of the 3-set build. Edited January 7, 20214 yr by Modal

I don’t think so, pics are usually distributed by LAN a day or so ahead of release so people like just2good and other big Lego you tubers can make a video on it, and release the vid at the same time as the sets official reveal. Where do the reveals usually happen anyways? Do Lego put it out on Instagram or Twitter or something? Either way. In the next couple of days, we should see pics!

Oh I was hoping they would just give us a sneak peak of the box. I just want to see the back side and how it looks connected to the other two sets so I can finally feel ready to open and build the two sets I have waiting in my closet :D

This has re-ignited my hopes for a rerelease of the other 2 sets, as I didn’t have the chance to get them. I do hope this becomes a yearly thing, I would love to see different areas explored. I could dream about a ninjago city suburbs set, or a ninjago city market....

I think something needs to be on the right side to help balance out the height difference between city and docks. And having the right side of the set be the lower garden part would match well with the dock. And then the rest of the set on the right side would be basically equivalent in size to the city on the left. Curious to see how Lego will advertise it with the other sets. I forgot about the Docks' back being the front and all that confusing stuff. If you look at Docks from the back (so City's front) then yes, it should be able to go on the left side of docks as well. If you look at the main walkway for Gardens you'll notice the right side just ends in nothing, which is where another set could be connected. On the left end of the walkway it kinda looks like it wraps around to the back of the building.

I thought it would be city on the far left, docks in the middle and gardens on the right, although because of the pagoda section on the gardens, if it’s put like this, the height difference would be even worse than the docks next to the city. Thinking about it a bit more though, I’m fairly certain the street level walkway wraps arround the left side, so it does line up. Will have to see official pics to see how they place it. Promobricks did say that the packaging advertised the extension thing, it’s just a case of if the modulars are actually lined up in a pic or if it just says ‘compatible with other sets’. Cannot wait for this reveal
January 7, 20214 yr There will never be an official rerelease, but King has a bastardized ripoff version of 70620 in stock. The reviews are pretty good. I would never advocate for buying a set that steals Lego's IP, but Lego doesn't make 70620 any more, so they're not losing any sales. I don't think it's intended to be on the left side of 70620, because there's a theater advertised in the Ninjago script in 70620 and an arrow pointing to the left. The Gardens are either intended to be adjacent to 70657 or opposite of 70620 to start a new block. Edited January 7, 20214 yr by CopperTablet
January 7, 20214 yr Yay finally! Definitely predicted the other baseplate to be separate. Kinda wish they were more connected but still it looks fantastic! Glad there’s more water in the back @Guyon2002 what were you right about with the walk away? Don’t remember what you said EDIT: Wait a sec, is the “expand your Ninjago gardens” only reference to the extra baseplate? Edited January 7, 20214 yr by Modal
