I've personally always felt that March of the Oni should've been a propper season that would serve as the end of the current teams story. The show did technically end after MotO but with the 2nd series (which ditched the Master of Spinjitzu titled) there wasn't really any change besides a significant drop in story and animation quality.

Just imagine MotO being a full season that ties up the teams story and then the new series would be the teams kids/grandkids or something.

I get what you mean and I am there halfway.

The writing in all former seasons was 95% really superb - which has changed. But its still good. and we get nice designs and pieces because of this. Comparing to all Nexo Knights and Hidden Side waves - I was maybe interested in 5 prints each, 3 new molds and some reused which became available through this theme. I am looking at my Legacy Destinies bounty or the upcomming sets and Im happy the content can continue.

Of course it hurts, seeing how amazing the animation became around Skybound. And when watching "Hunted", I relt like I was watching a proper movie (Oni Titan animation...). Also the endings and character conclusions of every new season were weak.

But it still has a lot of soul. It feels like the later seasons of Futurama: they cut the writing team in half and the developing time as well. The show was never as good anymore but it wasn't bad either.

Yea I think instead of rebooting the series they should have had a time skip where a new cast of characters took over.

Imagine that they reach like 20th season, and then the creators decide that it's time for their story as ninjas to be over.

But then we get something called The Legacy of Ninjago (or whatever) where we see the main ninjas being grown-ups, and for example 2 of them (like Lloyd and Cole) train a new generation of warriors, but this time instead ninjas maybe something like samurais?

Or just random warriors who give Mortal Kombat vibes (not one specific thing like ninjas or samurais).

I'm not familiar with the lore of the series but I imagine a new generation of ninja with different elemental powers than the current ninja, like wind, light, shadow or something along those lines.

But I like the idea of samurais taking the center stage.

Most of elemental powers are already taken thanks to season 4.

If it's happen, I'd rather them focus on their skills, not powers. For example one of them is a master if blades, another is a master of fighting art, another is master of stealth and so on...

Oh and more female characters, as of now the ratio is 1 out of 6, let's get it to like at least 2 out of 5.

oh huh we already went over the summer stuff

not gonna lie im really disappointed by this wave: fire dragon feels lackluster as a model but that might just be the wings putting me off, since the dragon itself looks like it's employing some interesting techniques that i'm missing; and the raider is very eh tbh, it's strangely small and after the wonderfully large stealth raider this seems like a step back from even the very substantial stealth raider.

non legacy stuff seems very eh overall too: the mech is charming but eh in some places, there's no reason we need a lego car for a submarine wave, the hydro bounty looks neat but also not my thing, the temple is very bare bones and tbh feels like it pulls from other sets more than it is original (ice castle fire fang and epic battle cole specifically), and the dragon is somehow somewhat disappointing in how strangely long and weird it is.

really it might mostly be me: last week i went through the 2020 stuff to see if i really wanted anything and tbh the only thing i was interested in was the bounty, whereas this year it's the titan mecha and maybe a couple islanders things. i've got college and bills to pay and all my lego's safely set up in a cabinet in the dioramas i like em in so maybe it's dark age blues or something, idunno; either way this summer lineup feels very weak.

71734 - Not bad set.

71739 - Excellent, even though it doesn't look like a 729 piece set...

71749 - Even though I don't collect them I still think it is one of the best 4+ sets.

71750 - Alright set, but maybe the worst of the wave.

71753 - Like expected... amazing! It surpassed my expectations and the value of money seems surprisingly good, too.

71754 - Another amazing set. Wasn't so sure about the idea of a water dragon at first but this set is really impressive!

71755 - Looks amazing! :pir-love: But the price is not so good...

71756 - Great design, much worse value than Destiny's Bounty

Overall, this wave is amazing! I am very satisfied with these sets and they have surpassed my expectations... by far! The pricing has gone up a little bit, but that is very understandable considering the level of detail in these sets. I can't wait to pick them up!

I don't think the ratio is bad now you have 2 female ninja and 5 male ninja then you also have Misako and Wu.  There have been several female villains also. I think ninjago does quite fine with the balancing of different characters.

If someday the series ends, I would like to see a new one with the kids of the Ninja as protagonists.

I don't know if it is off topic but I would like the next:
- Jay and Nya would have three kids: two boys and a girl. The oldest boy wouldn't have elemental powers and he would become the next Samurai X. The youngest kids are twins, the girl with the elemental power of lightning and the boy with the elemental power of water.
- Cole would have a boy with white skin (his mother would be Vania) and his old hairpiece in gold. He would have the elemental power of earth.
- Zane would have a young robot kid called Zane Jr. He would have the elemental power of ice and would wear a blue cap with helix.
- Kai would have two sons. The oldest son would be the master of amber and his hair would be brown. He also would be evil like Lord Garmadon or Master Chen. The youngest son would have red hair and the elemental power of fire.
- Lloyd would have a daughter. She would have tan hair like his father but she would dye her hair to white. She would be the new green ninja.
- Sensei Wu is, again, the teacher of this new ninja.

Personally I love the new wave(heh) of sets. I'm really digging the underwater designs. I initially didn't like Lloyd's mech until I realized how much it reminds me of Exo-Force and now I kind of love it. That realization also gave me an epiphany for something I'd absolutely love to see from Ninjago in the next few years: Ninjagoverse! Let me explain.

The concept of other realms has always been prominent in Ninjago and frequently features in the show. I would love to see LEGO build on this to create LEGO multiverse of themes past and present  they've dabbled with this idea before but never have they really explored the possibilities. Ninjago as a theme already often appears to cannibalize ideas that would otherwise have been their own themes in the past because of Ninjago's success and popularity.

As it is, each season has a different flavor to keep things fresh but what if they did proper Ninjago crossovers in both the sets and the show. There are a ton of past LEGO themes with cult followings that LEGO might be hesitant to dedicate an entire line to but could be successful as one or a handful of sets especially if tied to the juggernaut that is Ninjago. It would also introduce new fans to old themes and might encourage older fans who aren't necessarily into Ninjago to buy the sets.

Imagine a wave featuring a Ninjago/Exo-Force crossover, Ninjago/Bionicle crossover(with minifig versions of Toa and the like), Ninjago/Rock Raiders(or Power Miners) crossover, Ninjago/Alpha Team(or Ultra Agents) crossover, the list goes on. It could be a way for LEGO to apease fans of old themes or test the waters for what they should bring back while paying homage to the themes that inspired Ninjago in the first place. Frankly, for some of these it would be very difficult for LEGO to revisit them because Ninjago has taken so much of their core ideas for a seasonnor more. Exo-Force is a prime example.

With Marvel about to go all in on the multiverse with Wandavision, Spider-man 3 and Doctor Strange 2, and of course Into the Spider-verse has also played a part, the multiverse concept is about to rise to the forefront of the cultural zeitgeist and it would be smart for LEGO to capitalize on it. Some die-hard Ninjago fans might hate this and perhaps it's not something LEGO would consider until Ninjago's popularity starts to wane, using crossovers and guest stars to prop it up like failing cartoons and sitcoms used to. Sorry for the wall of text but my mind has been swirling with ideas and I had to get them out there!

I'm talking about main characters.

Sure, there are character like Pixal or Misako, but what does it matter anyway if they don't appear in sets?

I know Lloyds master arc was kinda abandoned in the show for whatever reason but I'd much rather see him as the master of the new team. Have Wu die in-between shows from old age.

I feel like we need to give some credit to @LOTR34, they posted the (banned) link to these sets, thanks dude! Currently building my own version of the hydro mech, gonna have to get creative with those parts though, almost all of the big ones are new or recoloured, and I don’t own the Boulder blaster so I don’t have that amazing cockpit....

Yes. I think the female characters they do have are very strong. Nya had really good storylines since she became Samurai X.

But overall the ratio is pretty bad. And I know people will argue with the market, the market BUT: you won't pull any girls and women in if you have the "all boys club" lable already.

Damn, just read the end line and the end line only, and it explains some of the things we’ve seen for season 15, mainly the sub speeder box art. Very interesting. As Said, spoilers are here so I’m trying not to go into it. But it appears season 15 will take place immediately after 14.

When searching for images of upcoming Ninjago sets on Instagram, are there particular tags to check other than #legoleaks and I guess #ninjago? Or is there some other good search method entirely, some particular accounts to follow?

With the sypnosis mentioned before the big one (which I have not read because I don't want too much spoilers). I'm kinda intrigued with the direction on how Ninjago wants to take their elemental powers.

Supposedly the creature that Nya's powers are linked to is "Wohira", this is actually the second ninja whose power have more to it then just being an elemental master. The first being Lloyd's power being linked towards Garmadon in S.O.G.

The four original ninjas are all related to creation, as well as Lloyd so that makes every ninja have some link other than being "because elemental master".

I believe it releases 4th of march in Canada, and that's episodes 2 out of 4. It will be a 4 episode season and the first 2 episodes are called 'Uncharted' and 'The amulets' and then the last 2 episodes will be released on the 14th.
