Gotta say I like this new 4+ rendition of Kai's Blade Cycle a lot more than the Legacy version we got in 2019.

Just I think her gun metal grey+dark azure scheme doesnt simply combine 2 great colours but also they fit with each other. And I love getting different molds with those specific colours and combine with old outfits (:

It's a habit of minifigure collectors I guess, to put different pieces, from different waves and try with the older outfits. If they change her colour scheme permanentely, it would dominish any potential.

I dont mind any one-time changes - actually I welcome them. Like her Legacy outfit, which was a flashback to her first ninja outfits. I would also like her to get a proper Samurai X outfit. They could redo her Mech properly and create finally a new mold for helmet/mask. The Samurai X picture yu posted is still the most accurate Samurai depiction in Lego so far.

scuba-suits: Cannt we just wait until we have figure in hands? Many times people were ranting for weeks, based on leaked pictures where a helmet thingy wasnt even put on properly. Maybe it also depends on shouldder attatchement or so.

For the newest pictures, I think they look good already; not my cup of tea but for sure interesting. Most of all I love that we get new belt pieces!

I just hope the bigger set pictures leak soon. I am really curious about the final design of the Bounty.

Not much has happened, a coupe of fig leaks. Also your question from before, we dont know a single thing about season 16 so i'd think it would be fake. Episodes 3 and 4 just released.

Episode 3: Pretty good, loved the battle scene at the end, but for some reason I prefer it in French. Everything else is good though. Zane's pirate voice is probably my least favourite part, as it was done soooo much better in season 5. 

Episode 4: Also cool, we get to see the hydro mechs, or APS suits. Not sure what it stands for though. We also get to see Kalmar, who i'm not too big of a fan. He just doesn't seem like he's the greatest villain ever. The hydro whippers are cool, I like the spider legged one. Wojira looks pretty good. The problem is is that in season 14 the serpent was just resting on the sea floor, now there's a massive temple around it? Not sure about that, but hey, plot! Maya was a bit annoying in my opinion, she feels like a bit more of 2D character now. Overall, pretty good.

I'm a bit late to the party but gotta say, definitely dig that new minifigure of Nya's ultimate form. Gorgeously and spiritually primordial. This kind of design is something Ninjago has always been kinda lacking, would love to see more of that in future seasons and sets.

Also with Cole's scuba suit now revealed up close, it does look different to me now. Based on the blurry leaked images, I've always though there was some printing of some crystallization design on the suit when what that actually was, in fact, just metal plating. While the "crystallization" aspect was why I sorta liked that suit in the first place, it does feel out of place. Thankfully, what I saw was just a misinterpretation. And now being able to see the scuba helm out close, it's alright I guess. Objectively, it does fits the style and printing of the scuba suits. But it's still not going to be my favorite though. Definitely not my cup of tea there.

Thoughts on the first four episodes -  they're an enjoyable watch. Maya got turned into stereotypical mother but still a fun character nonetheless. I don't like what was done with Ray though. Isn't he suppose to be the very stoic, serious and totally not a gamer? Hopefully we'll get to see some development with him. I do find pirate-y Zane to be slightly refreshing and fun though. Most of the time his character from SotFS onwards was starting to get slightly monotone, both him and Pixal.

One thing the hydro bounty and mech diving scenes from Episode 3 and 4 made me realized was how science fiction-y Ninjago is becoming with this season. I wouldn't have realized it was Ninjago had I not recognized the characters. It was until when Nya and Maya arrived at the temple, that I start getting back that Ninjago feel again. Also yea, I do find it odd that as the end of The Island, Wojira was sleeping on the sea floor while now it's in the temple.

Speaking of Wojira, I gotta say that I love how Wu's scroll was portraying that Wojira and warrior. Very Japanese folklore styled. That how I actually wished this season's vibe would be rather that having all that tech around. Also the two amulets glowing on Wojira's head as shown in the scroll is just so cool that I kinda wished that the actual Wojira in the set was also designed in the way where you put the amulets in the head rather than on the belly.

If I'm not mistaken, I do remember seeing a red scuba pod side build back when the catalogue was just leaked. Hopefully that's a good sign of Kai's inclusion as a scuba ninja.

Yeah, I saw that but im wondering if they will give him something like his season 11 suit but with a couple extra gadgets on. I hope not. on another note, has there been any sets/things in ninjagos history that has a blue and white colour scheme? Im mainly looking for predominantly white, and the only thing I can think of is the ice dragon from 2019.

2013 - Garmatron sidebuild
2014 - Ninjacopter 
2018 - Snake Jaguar
2019 - Boreal and Shuricopter
2020 - Titan Mech

That's pretty much it iirc.

If you actually go back to the Island and compare it to episode 4, Wojira is actually already in the temple. In the back you can see the statues of Kalamaar with his tridents, along with the design in the back. I think we all just assumed it was on the seafloor.

Those jellyfish swimming around her in The Island also appear to be the same ones featured in episode 4. Maybe the Merlopians can manually raise and lower the water level inside the temple?

Are the merlopians going to be the snakes or the octopus species that Kalamaar is a part of?

I honestly have no idea, I assume it's just a general name for all sea-dwellers we get to see in the season.

That's a smart guess - I'm sure we'll find out soon enough either way. Seems like they can control the water level in their temples, sort of like an air-lock.

Good catch there man! Yeah those jellyfishes really did made us assume it was on the sea floor or something. Perhaps it could indeed be like what Guyon suggested where the temple could be manually flood in or flushed out.

Yeah having Kai just in his SotFS suit with a little extra stuffs would definitely suck. Yep, I hope not too.

Also, aside from the examples Guyon mentioned there's also the 70588 Titanium Ninja Tumbler from 2016, 70616 Ice Tank from 2017's TLNM, and 70734 Master Wu dragon from 2015, thought it would count since it has blue eyes and teapot with a lot of white.

So someone asked that they have seen leaks for season 16 yet and I’ve recently seen the images I believe they are talking about. A torso and legs for zane and for Lloyd. They have R.B.R on the picture, not on the figs themselves. I honestly believe it’s fake as they look basically like a more detailed version of the MOTM armour. Lloyds torso also has his dragon symbol from the shield at the top of the armour. Very medieval, and over what looks like their season 11 suits. It’s very convincing, and it looks pretty real, but the fact that we have only just had a medieval season with practically the same armour along with the fact that if this is season 16, we know nothing about it. The only place I have found the pics are from a vid uploaded by a ninjago YouTuber “the 4 corners E” so go check that out. Very strange. They look real, yet at the same time they can’t be. It would be too early for a medieval theme to return, and the suits look like they have the S11 suits under the armour. I think this could be just a fan design, and if it is, it’s really damn good.

The timing is already enough to write it off. Production on the S15 sets didn't start until too long ago and we haven't even seen finalised setpictures yet. It's way too early for a S16 leak, especially a physical one.

My thoughts exactly, but I must wonder, what could it be about? As season 15 is mainly sci-fi underwater stuff, I’m kinda hoping for some more laidback Ninjago. As much as I love all the sci-fi vehicles, I really want to see some more old school Japanese things, like going back to the first wave. One of my favourite parts of sky bound was the whole idea of the floating islands, and if you look at the product animations from season 6 it really shows. I would love if ninjago explored this concept a bit more. Maybe the biggest set could be a floating temple in the sky, not too different from the temple of airjitzu. Any ideas what ninjago could explore to for season 16? Apart from space obviously.

I'm personally still holding out hope that they'll bring back the Time Twins in a big way and use them to give us a season styled around feudal Japan.

It all comes down to what is possible and what the company wants. As you can see, the cast and producers have (had) many plans - even for spin off's - and enthusiasm. But since "season 10", the quality has been decreased, studios for animation changed. Some pros, many cons.

I think at least the current season looks quite promising in terms of plot and animation. If you like futuristic submarines, wou will get some. If you are a kid, liking mechs and cars, you will get some. And if you like classic genres - you will also get something.

People complaining forgett, that without ninjago the only "era" designs we'd get (aka Atlantis, medevil, pirates and so on) are from Creator+Ideas.


I would also really like the setting you proposed. But it will all depend on a company man or woman saying to an artist (designer): yes or no, this market wants something else.

Yep, despite season 15 being an enjoyable watch, I'm starting to get really bothered with how Ninjago is getting assimilated with the contemporary real-life modern concepts with all this reliance on normal tech, common City-like prisoner-garbed thugs, and there's even a sunken Titanic-like ship in the intro for heaven's sake. And as I've already mentioned, the Land Bounty/Hydro Mech descending scenes is the most sci-fi vibe I've seen with Ninjago to the point where I'm not feeling the original flavor in those durations. Hope that aspect would be massively toned-down in the future,  Would love for Ninjago to commit to the vibe of the folklore with old school style without the overreliance on tech. Wojira was already a great and awesome example on how a mythical folklore beast concept is used, but there's also so much tech being used alongside in the season. This is also another reason why Master of the Mountain was awesome, aside from a good story, it captured the flavor of an adventure and mysticalism of Ninjago without those darn generic techs.

About what's possible with the next season, it seems based on the direction season 14 started and season 15 is heading, we might start exploring more on the primordial days of Realm of Ninjago  before the First Spinjitzu Master arrived and its ancient mythical denizens catching up to the present day. I remember there's some mentioning of a final element coming in the future, which could tie-in to the days even much further back.

Though I'm still crossing my fingers for a Mega-Monster Amusement Park wave, what better ways for mythical folklore monsters to hide in plain sight than a monster-themed park?

Have you seen the new Lloyd and Zane leaks?They look like something from the Masters of Mountain wave,I can't see where they fit this year based on everything we know about the remaining sets.Could these be fake?

I couldn't agree more, but yeah, they look pretty legit. Random idea, maybe a ninjago advent calendar?
