AllanSmith Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Check out the city sets in our next catalog. Allan from New Zealand. https://catalogs.lego.com/BrandCatalog/1HY2021/bc-1HY-2021-nz/ Quote
fo4saken Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 In the new catalog there is no 60305 Car Transporter and 60279 Fire Hazard Truck as far as I see. With Crooks Hideout I still wonder, supposted price was €99 same as 60292 City Center with 790 pieces. Now looking at this early 60278, do you guys think it could be quite similar? I mean Lego can modify content (fe. they changed/simplified that construction under fire in 60282 Fire Command Unit) but let's take a quick look: small red car, big swat truck, big dual rotor helicopter, building itself and road plates. How much pieces that could be? Maybe too much for 99 euro. Quote

Some other examples include the buildings in 7641, 7633, 7848, 8403, 3661, 4644, 60003, 60068, 60203, 60216, and 60245. Several of these (especially the earlier examples) even adhere to a modular standard in which individual 6x8 and 6x16 sections can be rearranged, duplicated, or even swapped between different sets. I think part of the reason LEGO opts for this standard so often is that there's only so much you can do with the floor space closer to the building's open back that won't obstruct kids' ability to see and interact with figures, furniture, or accessories placed closer to the front wall. It's also sort of the same reason that a lot of buildings in themes like LEGO Friends or LEGO Harry Potter where the ground floor interiors are more than six to eight studs deep don't include full ceilings covering those rooms. It makes it a little easier to see and access the interior of those rooms from above, since it would be harder to see or access the full interior from directly behind. There are a few LEGO City Adventures characters in one of the "My City" sets — namely, Madison Yay and Shirley Keeper both appear in 60292 Town Centre. I suspect part of their reason for naming the theme "Turbo Wheels" rather than "Race"/"Racing"/"Racers" is so that it's a little clearer that it also encompasses other sorts of motorsports that are more stunt-oriented and less speed-oriented, like demolition derbies, drift competitions, or freestyle motocross. Plus, at least one of the sets in the Turbo Wheels subtheme (the Octan service centre) isn't overtly racing-related. when I was a kid and playing my first Lego set - Lego 6349, I felt so excited to build the "thick" house, interacting with the details inside was more difficult though Quote
ks6349 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) I do not very much enjoy building Lego, it is tiring and time-consuming, as an adult. However, I really enjoy when it is finished, played around and as decoration Edited December 7, 2020 by ks6349 Quote
LCP Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 This is my opinion. In Korea, all imported products, including Lego products, are reviewed for suitability at the Safety Korea and the process is shown in photographs. But there was no picture of 60278 product in the link I sent you last time.I have a feeling that it will take some time for the product to be released not only in Korea but also in the global market. TeriXeri Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) Shopping Street certainly is nice, full price is too much, but on discount, I like it more then the Donut Shop. Shop buildings are not very deep in terms of interior but I can see those roads easily work with other 3-in-1 scale buildings as it's all plate-based. Edited December 7, 2020 by TeriXeri Quote

Now if only we had a Lego City club. Given your situation, you'd make a great president. Quote

fo4saken Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 (edited) New 2021 Speed Champions McLaren polybag. If this fits a minifigure, it might be quite interesting putting this car into the city. Edited December 10, 2020 by fo4saken Quote

I prefer polybags but those aren't sold widely at all. Edited December 9, 2020 by TeriXeri Quote
Maple Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 I know I'm late to the party but I love the new road plates and the fact that City sets can connect and.... you know... make a city. I wish the buildings were better but again City sets with builds make me so happy. Quote
