These along with a medical subtheme, TV subtheme and towing subtheme would make the perfect summer wave.

How about a postal service subtheme with those.

  • Express Delivery - includes mail van (recolored bank truck from 60169), mail box and pallet with mail and parcels.
  • Highway Postal Haul - includes long yellow truck with 3 pallets of parcels
  • Air Mail - includes jumbo jet with pallets, forklift and control tower
  • Post Office - includes post office building and mail car - they actually had those in my old town.

I like these postal service sets! Maybe add a new part (a big box that contains enevlopes and packages similar to a present that holds some smaller pieces) which it would be neat!

YES!!!!!! Like a mail dispenser on the side of the post office for some action.

The current wooden like box with the collectable minifigure stand does exactly that.

You mean, like that yellow box that comes in the set 60266?

I’m not sure what you are referring to?

Exactly! Pretty sure it can fit two gifts.

Or this piece: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=35700#T=S&O={"iconly":0}

It might not hold 1x2 envelope plates, but you could fit more in a 6 wide vehicle.

I wonder if we will get a new huge cargo train set for 2022 (if yes, leaks should come out somewhere in October). 60052 was in 2014, 60198 in 2018. What do you think guys?

Me, too. I also hope a huge cargo train product will be launched in 2022.
It would be nice if a freight train with a design similar to 3677 or 4512 was launched.

If we get one this year?

Since 2011 Lego makes a cargo 1 year after a trains subtheme, In 2019 they didn't release a cargo train, but I think we can get one this year

For 2022, I want a passenger train similar to set 7938 and a cargo train with 4 wagons, like what they did in 2006 with set 7898, but with a different locomotive

Well, I think a harbor may be more likely (like some of you said). But maybe, why not a Cargo Hub with Boat, plane and train?

Just got 6 sets of the new City tractor today happily    waiting for the City farm theme to be released.

I wasn't back to Lego in 2011, otherwise, I would have got this nice beautiful set without doubt

I have doubt. Cargo train was already released in 2018 or 2017 I forgot but it wasn't sold well, at least in my country

I don't know if leaks come out this year, trains are usually summer sets so leaks of new trains should come out in January Or February of 2022 but, as I said before, maybe a new cargo train set will be released this summer

Maybe in May or June we will know everything...

Yeah! Trains usually come out every 4 years. So I'm thinking summer 2022.

My favorite city products are trains, airplanes, and buildings.

I have this model.
This model is a great product, but the downside is that it is difficult to modify the locomotive, and the blue bricks are often discolored, and the bricks are easily broken.

I like the road going versions (i.e. buses and trucks). Buildings are one of my favorite too. As far as aircrafts are concerned, I have too many in my town.

I think at some point they need to do a non high speed train.  Like the more old fashioned steam tank engine + 2 coaches - similar to that 80s set.  A level crossing for trains is also overdue (last one was 2010, discontinued before the trains were), plus what happened to a 2018 station?  Pretty sure 60199 was never released, so it was probably cancelled.  And there's only ever been one engine shed.....

The harbour also needs a return.  I have the 2007 one and it is one of my favourite city sets.  It has the largest single hull ever produced by LEGO - I think the only boat that is bigger is the one in last year's ocean exploration, made from two separate hulls.

What is the most probably subtheme to come this year on Lego City Explorers?

Considering that we had Arctic, Deep Sea, Volcano, Jungle, Arctic, Deep Sea, I'd guess Volcano.  However, it is the one that I seem to see mentioned the least - I think that it was probably the least successful.  There's elsewhere to go, though, like safari, desert, or mountain.  I think Volcano's other weakness is that it's the only one where animals don't appear - in Arctic, Deep Sea and Jungle, there's generally several big animals in the series.  Having a much younger brother, I'm able to see the appeal of these animals and they go down extremely well in my house.  Volcano just doesn't have them.

Finally the 2021 sets have appeared in Australian stores other than LEGO. Some chains have increased prices, but Kmart has kept prices very nicely low, and has a lot of stock.

These road plates were AU$22 (US$16.93) each, at regular price. I am glad that while expensive, Australian consumers aren't being ripped off compared to other countries, considering the added transport costs getting these products to Australia.
