It looks like LEGO already rejected the idea of producing subways as it could have been included in every city square set, but trams or trains were included instead...

Lego did do a subway car in a  Spider Man ages ago. They wouldn't really fit into city square sets as those take place on the streets. A rapid transit train is better as a PF set. In my area, we call them either "Metro Trains" or "Rapid Transit" trains as most of the time, the metro in my city stays above ground. So calling them subways would be kinda dumb. Don't you think? :sceptic:

I think the most Lego would do in the way of a subway for City would be a street level entrance.

I've never been on an underground train myself, and my hometown has a historical museum inside the old train depot. (Could Lego do that?)

Subway is complicated far away of an scene of a movie

Due to it's underground

You have to build a tunnel for all the railway

How many pieces you need for it?

It's complicated even recreate a subway station due to the all the levels you have to reproduce (the street entry, the station with the ticket validation machines, the gateways, the railways, a tunnel)

I agree. But there is some “above-subway” in Chicago? Just like one in Spider-Man 2 (2004) or Divergent movie.

Let’s not forget about underground vault for Gringotts Bank from Harry Potter world. If Gringotts Bank comes into Lego production, there is no way to have underground vault because we already have Diagon Alley.

Edit, the joke's on me, apparently.  It's not April 1, and Zusammengebaut is usually a trustworthy source.  Sorry about that.

Don't worry, the same debate has occurred on the SW forum.

Well I would buy it. I think had the monorail theme been on the 90th anniversary poll, it would've won.

I'm more than happy to be your neighbor.
Since the creation of the City Series in 2005, it is true that the quality has been getting lower over time.
I think I bought the 7905 product at that price.
If you access this link, you will be able to see a lot of pictures of City products I have collected.
Photos of my City products will continue to be uploaded for the time being.

Quality of bricks shouldn't have much change.

But quality of the design was deteriorating

Hi all I am highly interested in this set 60277 (see image below) but it contains only 276 pieces while being sold for approx. $50 usd here, what is the lowest possible price could it hit by your experience for a City set that contains 276 pieces?? I'll take

this as a reference for the right time to buy it.

Lego City Modern Family House is not well designed. They should thicken its wall

I thought that is a $60 set? So it will be $48 at Walmart and Target.

I don't want the set, but the hull adds like $20 to the price. The deep sea explorers hull sold for $30-$32 on Bricks and Pieces. I'd say $45 is a fair price for the set. It is a City set, so $48 isn't even terribly overpriced compared to the theme.

The reason I am asking for guess on the lowest possible price range is that

1. I don't need to get a set I like immediately and I almost always get it when I think the price is right

2. Price fluctuation here is quite high, sometimes when I believe that it is near the minimum possible price it can still go down even a lot more

$45 should be the right price to get 60277?

What I am not happy about the new road plate is that it may suggest that curved road will possibly disappear in the future. Do you think the older road plate e.g.60237  will retire soon? 7194ZZEmTzL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

I just got Ocean Mini-Submarine. I have to say - i love it! I know it’s very simple but i was so happy to have hammerhead shark! I know it’s so 2020-ish but hey, it has hammerhead shark!

I may go get Holiday Camper Van. The new sets are so hard for me to decide, gah!

Yeah, and parts from this subtheme are good for Aquazone MOCs. I got that one in a 20% off sale at a local dollar store.

Are you happy with yellow minifigs, or would you prefer more race representation?

I'm 100% happy with yellow figs. I prefer them actually. The fact that  Lego is race free with their original themes (or tries to be in the case of Friends) is what makes them awesome. The only reason flesh tones exist is because of the licensed themes.

They've also got lots of people with ASD here too, myself included. So I don't feel left out.
