I have the 2014 police station - which in my opinion was the best of the bunch. I'm currently waiting on a 2016 airport that I brought second hand off of eBay.

I like that police station too,but the 2008 one was my favorite, I bought it used on a site called "olx", there I M finding good sets that I want, the 2015 cargo train, the 2005 fireman polybag, the demolition site, the 2006 passenger plane and the police stations from 2011 and 2014

Ouch! That's a pretty huge haul.

Perhaps I'm the opposite, as I had a large break from LEGO, sets from 2001-2016 have no nostalgic value for me.

Still, there are certainly great sets among them, but I rather move forward with new sets myself.

80s and 90s are more my nostalgia era but I don't like second hand sets.

That's certainly one of the situations where the US price is much worse , 3 sets for $90, vs €60, so it still happens for US and City.

Still don't know what causes those extreme differences (compared to many other themes €20 sets being $20)

I have been ranting about Star Wars and some Harry Potter sets being overpriced like that ($20 vs €30, and $20 vs €40), that seems to happen a little bit less nowadays in 2020 sets, while US still gets bad City prices.

I know this is a 2021 thread, and I hope that US City prices get better (and an overall more consistent price between themes)

I actually love the design of them, I think it looks good in darkblue, gives the impression of a big engine under there, and a bit of a rough/classic look with the angles.

I mean, they could have used this, but they use that part style fairly frequently.

It would almost look like this vehicle from 2013 then (60007).

I can certainly see that this might be inspired by 2013, which was also called Elite Police in the description.

I wonder if the City Center 60292 (€99,99) has a Museum in it, then the Drill set makes a lot of sense.

There's even another raid on a hideout 60278 (€99,99)

As for the other 2021 Police set, I hope the Prisoner Transport is a dark blue bus, and maybe a Prison set in summer?

The Elite Police sets are available in Australia (at least in the LEGO stores) and are still called Elite Police over here.

Same here in Europe, still called Elite Police, which brings me even more to the link to the 2013 sets.

Instead now the Police hero is Duke Detain instead of Chase McCain

I love this set, it still looks cool.

I do also think it looks great still, the framed window certainly stands out as the biggest difference, makes it look more armored/rigid.

I love the fact their names are puns lol.

In Norway Lego City safari off-roader 60267 is only sold directly from Lego as far as I can see

Is that the case in other countries as well?

I would not mind seeing more sets like it in the future, but if it only has a very limited release that will definitely affect sales in a bad way and make future sets more unlikely :hmpf_bad:

Do other stores have it as well or only official Lego stores where you bought it?

Yes, here it's LEGO exclusive still, same for Mail Plane, Police Brick Box, and the 3 Elite Police sets right now.

Some LEGO focused webshops sometimes have "exclusive" sets, but often they list them at, or above LEGO.com prices

Online Product sales are growing (4% growth here first half of 2020, despite the loss via travel related sales), with physical stores having less customers, and the number of Toy Shops already nearly halved from 2009-2019 here before Corona.

Yes LEGO did open their first 2 official brand stores here recently at the end of 2019, but they certainly are very focused on the experience ,Build-a-Minifig, Printed minfig-factory, Pick-a-Brick, and mostly showcasing exclusive sets.

I haven't visited them recently however.

A LEGOLAND discovery center+store was supposed to open in May here, but that's now delayed to 2021.

Now I really hope LEGO will sell more of it's Polybags online in the future as well.

I'm pretty sure I've seen it in other stores as well earlier in the year. But I just checked and it seems the Safari off-roader dissappeared from all Dutch webshops (including those of physical stores) and is now only available from LEGO itself.

EDIT: Nvm, I just see the above where TeriXeri said it's LEGO exclusive, so I must remember it wrong.

I haven't been in physical stores in a long time, but the most common webshops have not sold the sets I listed, neither has Amazon, and it's been 9 months since the Safari Jeep/Mail Plane came out, so that's where I base it on.
