I wonder if it was by choice or if none of the old molds would work with the new motor pieces.

The main thing I notice is the larger, more pronounced or double exhaust, which is clearly a design choice, however the rest of the design could still be for technical reasons.

I’m not sure if I can believe this one. I mean, man, I don’t know. :sceptic:

It was announced on LegoCon yesterday - so you should probably believe it ;)

Please disregard my “Iam not sure if I can believe” comments above. Now, I’m not sure if this soccer/football set will be a hint for a City subtheme next year?

in that case, it may be potential for subtheme or simply a D2C.

So far we think there would be subtheme next year potentially:

1.) Farming (“hint” from Tractor set this year)

2.) Forest (“hint” from Freinds’ current subtheme)

3.) Clinical vet (“hint” from Freinds’ current subtheme)

4.) Sports

5.) Medicine (is there any hint?)

Perhaps from that hospital piece from this year's advent calendar. I stand by my statement. The only similarity between that hospital and the hospital from 2018 is the colors.

I'm also wondering if I'm going to finally get my wish for either a bus or a public transportation subtheme because of the bus that was included in that set. The bus there is green and yellow while the 2017 bus was yellow and green. So that's gotta be my answer there.

The soccer set is not a hint to anything City, its just the winner of the next Ideas contest AFAIK;.

AFAIK?

Also, I think someone like Powered by Brick mentioend there is a stadium in Lego tv show. So it may be “hint” but I may not count on it.

As Far As I Know @DBlegonerd7 :)

I wish TLG would release some 19-29€ set, an ambulance with some small accident with the small road plate or the bus like 60154 with a piece of road plate as well, cause they presented new road plates and I think they will follow the idea adding them to the sets.

Ahhh, thank you!! :)

me too - I would love to grab ambulance. I like your idea that inclludes an accident on road plate. I mean, we need some damaged cars. It’s pretty odd to see cars in perfect shape. But I’m not sure if TLG will do that car accident scenery since it may include alcohol. Ironically, there are so many beer bottles and barrel in new Thor set!

And I am in favor for bus as well. School bus, city bus, traveling bus, etc.  I think it’s best to have public transportation subtheme like Poodabricks said above. I mean city won’t be a city without public transportation.

Ooooh yeah! If they do standalone school bus or bendy bus under the Great Vehicles subtheme, that's an immediate run to the Lego store at opening time and grab for me. I also hope for a proper looking service station like the ones we got in 2007 and 2016.

Yeah!! Think bus for Great Vehicle is a “long” overdue. I would love to see some upgraded standalone bus (school or bendy bus).

If they do a bus set next year, I would grab it and I would have a T-rex figure terrorize citizens inside the bus just like The Lost World movie!

Has anyone noticed that LEGO has reated new motorcycle fairings/bodyworks for all the pushforward stunt bikes? They haven't used any of the old molds, they have all been updated in some way even 31582 has been updated. I wonder if it was by choice or if none of the old molds would work with the new motor pieces.

I think that it's probably the latter. That said, there's still a not-insignificant chance that the new fairings do still work on the non-"pushforward" frames, even if it leaves gaps.

Now that would be epic there. I've retired from town building. But I'm going to start collecting vehicles soon. My next ones are the aircraft transport and the auto transport.

I wonder when Space Exploration subtheme be retired? It has been two years since it was released.  Same for some sets that were released from 2019.

About half the sets did retire late last year, but the Shuttle / Rocket Assembly / Deep Space Rocket sets probably sold well enough to keep them in production for now.

2 of the large space sets are on End-of-life list for 2021, Rocket Assembly possibly as soon as July 31st.

It's a wonderful theme, so if you want it get it soon.

Hey guys!

This has nothing to do with City but I just found out about the new Expert - 10290 Pick-up Truck.

Peronally, I would love to see that classic pick-up truck makes another appearance in City’s Great Vehicle set or subtheme (farming?)!
