Dragunov2 Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Hi, In the past I used this program to build my city layout: streets, trainroads,.... But this program is now obsolete with the 'new' roadplates, other traintracks and such SO I'm in the search of a program which does the same, but with the newer parts Thanks! Quote
aawsum Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 (edited) I think I read somewhere else that new track has also been made available, however can't find it know. (and hereby the topic where eg the trixbrix library has been made available) It is however really easy to create new parts and still use bluebrick. Maybe good to look on the website. supertruper1988 Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 BlueBrick has a robust custom part implementation. There are track packs available for TrixBrix and from L-gauge.org Quote
Dragunov2 Posted September 3, 2020 Author Posted September 3, 2020 Well, I wonder if the scale is the same as LDD and Studio 2.0? I made my floorplan in LDD and also in Bluebrick for the railway and it seems I have less space with the same amount of plates on Bluebrick than with LDD... Quote
Ludo Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 (edited) @Dragunov2, can you explain a bit more what you see as difference? How many base plate you used and the difference in mm or cm. I use always BlueBrick to draw my layout for exebitions, but never used LDD. BlueBrick use 8 pixels by 8 pixels for a 1x1 plate / brick. Dragunov2 Posted September 3, 2020 Author Posted September 3, 2020 I have place for a 2.5M by 3 meters, so 10 baseplates by 12 baseplates, if u consider each plate is 25x25cm I have 4x (150x75cm) and 4x (100x60cm) as tables, with a open place in the middle, so I can access the other parts aswell... In Bluebricks I have the same amount of plates, but if I add the same size of tables, my plates are larger than the tables, and it seems the traintracks are larger here than in LDD Or is the size 25.5 of a plate? In practice, they are ever so slightly smaller than that, but when you start building on them the bricks make sure they're spaced properly. Quote
Dragunov2 Posted September 6, 2020 Author Posted September 6, 2020 And in LDD u cannot place bended trainrails over groundplates Quote

It sounds like you need to either rearrange your content layers. Either by the actual named layers (bottom right of screen), or within the layer itself via the “Bring to Front” or “Send to Back” commands. It helps to rtfm... Just sayin... Quote

Hello Dragunov, The successor of BlueBrick is... BlueBrick... :-) Seriously, I don't think BlueBrick is now obsolete. Yes there's new LEGO parts produced regularly, but it is dead simple to add an image in the library for each new part produced (you don't even need to write an xml file, if you don't want/dare/bother to). If you liked the interface of BlueBrick and its functionality, why changing for something that has the parts you want, but not the functionalities you need? :-) Yours. Quote
