TheCreatorr Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 (edited) This is my very own Mini-Scale Imperial Shuttle (with display stand) built of LEGO bricks: And yes, detailed step-by-step Building Instructions are available --> Instructions for the Imperial Shuttle I have to say, the Imperial Shuttle is my most favorite spaceship from STAR WARS ... and because of that, I really tried very hard in getting the shapes and proportions as accurate as I could. I designed additional Landing Gear and a removable Landing Ramp to display the Shuttle in it's landing position. The Shuttle is sized to an official LEGO® nano-scale minifig. To display the Shuttle in it's flight mode, I built an additional all-black stand to securely display the Imperial Shuttle, featuring the Galactic Empire emblem and my own logo. Features: both flanking wings can be folded outwards for flying and inwards during landing procedures, includes two forward-facing double laser cannons, two forward-facing wing-mounted double cannons, and a rear-mounted double laser cannon, removable landing gear and boarding ramp, and on top of all it's a very solid build ! What do you guys think of this build ? Edited September 15, 2020 by TheCreatorr Quote

You managed to retain the elegance of the shuttle design as this small scale begins to make vehicles look chunky - bricks be bricks All the proportions are spot on - the wings, the angles. Sheesh, even a boarding ramp...something LEGO never bothered with. At every angle, every perspective, it looks really good. If I had a nitpick, it's the engine 'exhaust' trans-light blue tiles. They should be centered on the fuselage. If I had to find a way to solve that, I guess I would try to flip some of the rear fuselage plates to studs-out and use jumper plates...but I haven't MOC'd in so damn long it would probably take me a week to figure it out! Awesome work! Quote

Awesome work! Thanks so much for this thoughtful comment! You're totally right, the exhausts should be centered! I have to say I didn't thought about that until now , although I studied very much original footage of the in-universe shuttle. The rear fuselage is even studs-out built, so jumper plates would work just fine. Will try this out for sure and post pics of this version here in the future! Believe it or not, the overall design of this Shuttle took me just about 5 hrs on one evening a few months ago . The Imperial Shuttle is just so elegant and sleek, the first time I saw the ship on-screen apporaching the DSII in ROTJ I fell in love with it instantly! To capture the proportions and details in LEGO, especially in this tiny scale where you're very limited in using parts, is extremly hard. But I have to say that there's a thing that frustrated me the most: Everytime you search for footage of the Imperial Shuttle, you get so many different variants in shape and proportions that it's pretty damn hard to find out the exact measurements. Because of that, I used mostly the original patent from 1983 where Lucasfilm protected the design for the first time. Anyway, really appreciate your feedback! If you want, you can also check out my other mini-scale Millennium Falcon MOC I designed, which is in the same scale as the Shuttle: Edited September 2, 2020 by TheCreatorr Quote

dvogon Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Great build! Proportions are quite good and the size is perfect for bigger MOCs. Quote

Thanks! Indeed I already designed the Death Star II Executive Hangar Bay 272 where Emperor Palpatine arrived with his Imperial Shuttle for the inspection on the stations operability from ROTJ: Hey guys, I made another rendering of my Imperial Shuttle with my TIE Fighter design together: Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle with TIE escort is approaching the Death Star II Hangar Bay 272 ...
