Built the Supra last night.  Nice build overall, I don't like the seating arrangements in the interior.  If it didn't have the Toyota and Supra stickers on it, would you even recognize the car?  I left the inner headlight stickers off the build, so I only used the outside and middle stickers.  I think it looks better.

As I purchased the Supra as well, I challenged myself with the headlight stickers.

Did you use parts of the sticker sheet as well as the pre cut ones? (If that makes sense)?

Just wondering which of the £17.99 sets I should get?

I haven't bought any yet but at the top of my list for the £17.99ers is the Jesko.

The term you are looking for is sticker bleed

Ok, so I just finished building most of this new wave - all except the dodge set (waiting for a big discount on that one to get the purple challenger) and the Bronco as I only wanted the Ford GT from that set.

So to say my thoughts I have decided to list it like this:

Best model of the 2021 wave: Ford GT - Looks awesome, colours are bright (although the medium azure is a bit inaccurate), and definitely recognisable!

Model I am most surprised on (exceeded my expectations): Toyota Supra - Very solid build, rear section is really well done, the yellow is nice, only complaint is the stickered headlights, I feel like it should of been printed. But yeah, much better than my initial impressions on it.

Worst model of the 2021 wave: Corvette C8r - To be honest, not recognisable at all, colour does not help (I think light grey would of been better) and the thing I hate most are the fenders! However I have already managed to put the normal fenders on the rear, now to find a way to put them on the front...

The Elva and Jesko are really good models too, it’s hard to chose which one is better out of both, however the Jesko does have more “presence” to it. The thing I found annoying about the elva and sometimes in a few other cars, is the random coloured pieces that bleed through crevasses and gaps - e.g: there was a lot of red that could be seen through the front, wheel arches and even interior in the elva, but replacing those random colours was easily done.

The C3 is good, not my thing but the colour is nice. Another thing is the new wheels. I wasn’t sure at first but they are definitely better! I wish there was more rim designs though, only 2 is extremely boring and unconventional. Being able to fit 2x2 dish pieces/tiles opens a lot of doors too.

So yeah great wave, (not sure if it’s stronger than the 2020 wave?) but now the wait for the 2022 wave is on and hopefully it’s not delayed to June again, but I could see why it could be. Good job speed champion designers, keeping my favourite theme alive haha :snicker:

Does anyone know why there is no Ford in the new lego catalog?

Why does lego do that not all sets are in the catalog?

Yeah, for some reason (I'm UK) all the sets are on Lego.com but on Amazon everything except the Ford set is there.

Weirdly, the Ford set is exclusive to Selfridges

The Vintage Corvette is lined up for me tomorrow.  Many of us are eating crow around out initial impressions of the sets.  The Supra still seems to be the weak link in the series, a good build but generally unrecognizable

Slightly random question, but what has everyone done with their 6 stud cars (for those who display their speed champions)?
Do you still have them displayed, maybe separately from the 8 stud wide models, or have you dismantled them.

I have the idea to convert the 6 wide ones into 8 wide, however I feel like that’s not as easy as it may seem. Right now my 6 stud models are on a shelf away from the 8 wide ones so I’m looking to see what others have done :)

I’m waiting for someone to come out with a conversation kit to transform the 6s into 8s. 🧐

Some will be easier than others. I converted Ghost Rider’s Dodge Charger into an 8 wider. Much easier than turning the 2016 32 Ford Coupe from 4 to 6 though :head_back:

McLaren Senna according to instructions with extension to 8pin. Some parts have been replaced. The result is a little square. Probably need to lengthen a little :)

Looks much better than the original, but where are there two 1x2 orange slopes in the front? In the real car, there is only one. Great job though.

I will die on the hill of the 6-wide Speed Champions cars! Classic SC forever!

...To answer you directly, I just don't display them side-by-side, hah.

I have an unusual question:

Does any of you have/had CADA bricks? What are they? Are they of good quality or do they look good?

Is there any web page that doesn't fool me with a purchase?

I have just finished the Corvette C8.R and I love it. Apart from the lights, that are common thing among 2021 Speed Champions kits, all the others are racing ones. We built it while hearing videos from "the real thing". I like both front and rear and the huge diffuser.
