Hi guys,

Check out our latest speed build review video at our channel about speed champions sets… Cool license sets this time after an 8-studs revolution…. Thanks for your support 😊🙏

I guess so. But why so many colors? The only color I can understand is red, for the people who make alternate builds and want to add taillights.

I was thinking the same thing.  Maybe so people can see where the pieces go more easily?

Bingo! Also, occasionally, because they want to include parts in new and uncommon colors to make those colors more available for MOC building. Also to optimize production across many sets to reduce the number of recolors needed.

Like to make it cheaper and quicker?

Sort of. Using common colors like primary colored parts for parts that won't be visible on the exterior is typically cheaper than recoloring them to a new or rare color.

But I think making the build easier (to reduce any confusion in the instructions) is a more significant reason in general. After all, black and grey tend to be pretty common colors themselves, but an interior using only those sorts of "mechanical" colors could make parts blend together more. Using brighter colors helps to make sure those interior parts are distinct and easy to differentiate, both on instruction pages and in a pile of parts.

One final reason (though it's somewhat rare) is for "Easter eggs" inside the build. For instance, the Koenigsegg from this year's Speed Champions set has a blue and yellow Swedish flag pattern built into the inside. In a case like that, factors like instruction readability are still probably a primary motivator for using differently colored parts than the exterior, but if Lego needs to differentiate the interior colors for those reasons, it doesn't hurt to sneak a little pattern or reference into that space at the same time.

The C3 Corvette can be mace cabrio only by omitting 5pieces, and you get rid of the square roof...

Some pictures of the so controversial C8.R. I love it and my son too...

Interesting, though I would connect the bricks over the rear fenders more tightly. Curious also why did you omit the two stickers on the side behind the number. That and it looks like the spoiler is about ready to fall off.

I also noticed how difficult it was to make a proper connection on those fenders, on mine as well, never had that problem before.

Lol, glad someone is actually playing with it, I do and I am an old man, lol, love drifting those cars on the table, lol.

On a side note, I just bought that set last week and low and behold, I was missing sticker number 15 for the 68'. Never made it into the box, funny, and man did I look everywhere for it. That was a first, anyway got two more sticker sheets coming, thanks LEGO and some bonus VIP points.

I do have some mixed feelings about this years SC sets but I will hold off saying until I have actually built all the sets, only two to go.

Yes, the C8 looks like it requires a lot of modding to look good.

What we need is an upsidedown 1x1 cheese slope with a stud on top, for those fenders. I always find that gap rather annoying and ruins many a fine build. It's weird how LEGO addresses it many times but seems okay with on so many other builds.

I have actually considered modifying the 1x2 brick with slope on the bottom but really hate to resort to that sort of solution. It would be perfect for those fenders though and who knows what other uses it would be great for.
