I haven’t seen anything but I don’t need to either. SC was originally listed as retailer exclusives (Toys R Us specifically) and because it is a “licensed” theme (despite no fleshies) SC is a free cannon. We will probably see images in December. Also as @Bartlomiej pointed out, why would LEGO create new molds just to use them in one wave and potentially never see them in the light again? Quote
Daanski Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Fair enough. It sounds very plausible. Thanks! Quote
Chevyguy1 Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Would love to see a 2 set with the C8 and the C8.R Corvettes Quote

The Lamborghini Egoista is wonderful, I've always wanted it to appear in SC, but unfortunately I'm afraid it's never going to happen, because it's a fairly little-known Lamborghini model. Quote

OpenBagTwo Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) O/T but Technic is getting a $50 (US) Senna GTR. Interesting that they chose the Senna over the Speedtail or Elva, but I guess that's par for the course for Lego considering the Chiron got an SC two years before the Technic. Personally I'd love to see the Lambo Sesto Elemento or the Bugatti Centodieci - this would make my day :-) Talking about Lamborghini - I have just made a dual MOC set of the Diablo (a 1990 Classic one and a 1998 GT). Vectormatic Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 @AbFab1974 very nice work! @JintaiZ in the first 4-ish years, speed champions released in march, not january, so it being late isnt a big surprise. Considering Technic is getting 3 licensed cars this january, they might have decided to again stagger the release of "car-guy" sets a bit. Quote
Anonknee Muss Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 @AbFab1974 that’s awesome! Hoping to create my own 8 stud wide cars at some point. The shaping on yours looks great! LegoMFP_David Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Hello All! Newbie here I don't think Lego will end the Speed Champions line as they have only just gone to 8 stud wide vehicles last year, plus we got new parts as well so they will want to continue it. Plus its a good seller so they would be rather silly in stopping the line. They might be a delay in the sets being launched, might not get the first sets until Spring. The delays could be due to Covid with design teams not been able to work as closely as before, or it might be we get fewer sets this year maybe only 4 than the 6 we got last year. I would like to see a Nissan Skyline GTR set any of the R32 R33 or R34s would be great. It would be great if they did some Aston Martin sets as well Lego has the license for them so I don't see why not they would be hugely popular worldwide. Quote
Leewan Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 What if next year's Speed Champions sets will also be Fast and Furious sets ? When 42111 was announced they said it was the first LEGO set inspired by the high-octane, global blockbuster franchise. That implies more sets are planned, and instead of creating a new F&F theme they could sell minifig-scaled cars from the movies, with minifigs of the characters, as part of the Speed Champions line. That could also explain the delay ; they may want to release the sets close to the release of the next movie, which should be next April. Quote

From a quick Google search of what cars will be in the upcoming film, we could expect to see a Dodge Charger 500 in black, a Noble M600 in some shade of purple. Lego doesn't have a color that could match perfectly, but Bright Purple/Dark Pink could work well. I'd definitely need to pick up at least one of those for parts. Also in the movie there will be a gray Chevrolet Chevelle SS, a white Acura NSX (whose shapes could look really cool in LEGO if done well), a Jeep Wrangler, a Blue Ford Mustang Shelby GT, an Orange 2020 Toyota Supra, (another must buy for me for parts) and a Pontiac Fiero. Some of these may be a bit to similar to stuff they've done recently: They did a black Charger in 2019 (75893) and a Blue Mustang in 2016 (75871). Lego has the Dodge, Chevrolet, Jeep, and Ford licenses, so those vehicles seem the most likely. Of course this is all just speculation if there is a Speed Champions/Fast and Furious tie in or if they are continuing with Speed Champions style/price points under the 'Fast and Furious' banner for a year. It would be great to get some of the cars from the other films as well. Thinking about Brian's R34 Skyline from 2fast2Furious for one and of course his Supra from the first film. These would look great in 8 stud wide form and it would be great to have a little Dom minifigure. The only downside would be the price, Lego will pass on its licence costs to the buyer it will be a double whammy for these types of sets. First you have the car make and model then the film licence so a single car set might be around the £20 for us in the UK. Quote
