Well, it changed to Backorders accepted, will ship in 60 days.” Looks like it may not be available.

Well there you have it. I'm really surprised they sold through the entire supply they had on hand and didn't hold any for the general on-sale. Glad they're taking back-orders, I guess. I may regret it but I'm still holding out for Nov 1.

Same here. TLG learned that they needed enough supplies after Grand Piano selling out on day one... and it's still out of stock!!!

I started building the Croc locomotive last night and I gotta agree...the new instruction format is awful and very difficult to see. So much so that I might have to figure out a new spot to build sets. The black background picks up a wicked glare off the overhead lights and it consciously affected the build experience. I hope they listen to feedback because this is really disappointing.

Black with brown just doesn't fit. Though I had no problem reading the instructions for my Stormtrooper Helmet.

You're right, the brown color scheme doesn't help. I'll be interested to see how it looks with the new WV set.

its on backorder in UK too, glad I got mine on VIP access , interesting to see that the black instructions are getting mixed reviews - I think they look great but are not fit for purpose !

Lucky you!!! The truth is I've been waiting for a discount now...

Well, the black instructions with white bricks looks extremely clear. Not sure about other bricks.

I'm going to finish the Croc with the PDF version of the instructions on my ipad. Not ideal but the PDF is much more clear.

Absolutely. I hope to take a look at the instructions soon, but they're not available on the LEGO website yet...

Wow---my wife had insomnia last night and ordered it when it "said ships in 60 days"  So in one day, they go from not even taking backorders to backorder for 60 days to now anyone can buy it right now.  Now if they can do that with the Cantina..........

I didn’t have a problem with the WV set, and my eyesight is nothing to brag about.  I could imagine it being a pain with dark grey pieces though.

And weirdly, the set is now available. Must’ve put those robots on overdrive...

Also, I don't think TLG wants people to write negative reviews just because of the availability...

Finally ordered it yesterday.  It’s on backorder but I’ll survive.  I wanted to get my double points and the newest GWP.

That's great, enjoy the set!

Building this this weekend. It has raised severe issues over labour laws and employee protection at the North Pole that I feel we need to address

This is the Elves "club house" which implies a place of rest and recreation to me. But it clearly has a gift wrapping station, implying that they are required to work in their down time, or at least some other impingement on a healthy work-life balance. The way to their workshop is signposted clearly, they shouldn't be required to bring work home

Additionally, the presence of beds here imply that this is actually their house, not a club house. But this bedding is inhumane - firstly, there are insufficient bunks for every elf, which implies shift use of beds - something we now know can spread disease rampantly in pandemics. Additionally, there is a cruel and unusual mechanism for waking those elves who are presumably too exhausted from slaving away by physically ejecting them from their beds, and indeed the entire 'club' house if done with enough force

I think we need to send the appropriate employment rights agency in to the operation immediately. There's vast amounts of police in City to back them up in breaking this indentured servitude setup up and getting the "big man" in red put to rights.

(I am taking the piss clearly, its been rather a long weekend in lockdown here)

But they have waffles!  Surely that must make up for everything......

Also, do not forget they have a light in the one place where it being dark would really be useful  :head_back:

While it does pertain to magic house elves...perhaps we could get Hermione to bring back her youthful S.P.E.W.(Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare) days.  Santa would be no match for her I think.

Nov calendar is out and the Christmas Carol GWP isn't listed, instead they are offering a Han Solo Carbonite keychain. Kinda disappointing. And is this the first year in recent memory to have only one holiday GWP, assuming it's not a Black Friday freebee or they don't double up on December?

Yikes.  If the Dickens GWP is part of Black Friday, this is going to be a matter of getting on S&H the moment the window opens up.  I will proceed to pick up any available set I would like to have in order to qualify for the GWP before everything goes out of stock.  I sure hope they will not wait until December for this offer, otherwise most sets deemed to be desirable are going to be wiped out by the end of November.  You cant get a GWP if there is nothing you left that you really want to buy.   I am not going to buy a bunch of City/Duplo sets or whatever is left just to get this.

The Elf Clubhouse is front and center on the new catalog.  Within the catalog are several sets already OOS with no backorder option--looking at you Star Wars.  If they are featuring the clubhouse on the cover, I would hope they have prioritized having that in stock.  It is going to get really interesting sometime in late November.

It's not Christmas yet...

Personally, I'm not going to purchase it quite yet. First of all, it's smaller than I earlier anticipated. Second, I just purchased the Disney Castle a few days ago. My wallet needs a break...

Though if you choose to purchase it, enjoy!!

I went back and looked at the store calendars from the past couple years and the GWP timing varies widely, much more than I initially remembered. Timing is all over the map. Christmas Carol for Black Friday weekend is possible even though not announced...maybe it'll be listed in that mailer they usually send out right before Thanksgiving. Whatever the case, now that I've missed the VIP double points last week I'll hold off as well.

2019 - 11/29-12/2 Christmas Tree; 12/6-24 Mini Gingerbread House

2018 - Giftbox?; 12/1-10 Carousel

2017 - 11/1-15 24-in-1 Holiday countdown; 11/24-27 Nutcracker

2016 - 11/1-15 Nutcracker ornament; 11/25-28 Snowglobe

2015 - 10/13-11/13 Holiday Train; 11/27-? Mini Gingerbread House
