It's already been stated at source that the excavator is neither hydraulic nor pneumatic. From the name of the set, I wonder if there's a new actuator-type part - the spring-loaded damper was referred to as hydraulic back when it was introduced. I also wonder why it's being released in March... Quote

But since many of the sets has plenty of pieces for their rumored price tags (i.e Senna) so far, the excavator could have about approx 500-550 pieces and even large LA's. Quote

This is a clear hint to me that Technic keeps on sacrificing interesting mechanics for looks. There was a reason why they used to produce lots of machinery in the past: They do things other than just drive around. Technic is one of the top-selling series and I'm sure they have good economic reasons for going into that direction. But my interpretation is different: If Technic cars that look good really sell that well, they should finally consider reintroducing Model Team or Racers. The Technic team could then focus on a smaller number of mechanically interesting sets. That might be a win-win. I don't want the only interesting set in terms of functions being a small excavator for 39,- USD. Yes, it is definitely a good thing to have variety in sets, but just because Lego is building more cars doesn't necessarily make them boring. Sometimes they are (See the Porsche 911 RSR set), but others are mechanically awesome (see Bugatti Chiron). But I suppose it is hard to put interesting car functions in smaller scale models. thekoRngear Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Since the Liebherr was released in 2019 with 4k+ pieces, something purely technical like that might come out as well in H2 with highest piece count ever, with boring C+ controls Quote

Maybe we will see Technic sets with 5000 parts, like a huge (stationary) crane, which is so common to build as a MOC. Other than that, motorized models of 4 kg or more just need more motors to move quickly which again increase weight. ABS has it's limits in strength also. Quote
1gor Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 @Jundis I would except even set like 8284 with proper tractor tires, or 8295 like with tractor tires, even simple truck like 9397 B model with 68.7 x 27 tires... somehow as older I get I prefer Technic models with less parts as possible...or perhaps I'm just getting old Quote

Technicallism Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 The 2H sets or even the 2H FLAGSHIP set itself must think from the way of Control +, and up to now what we short is a Control + of a pneumatic functioning model... Hope there will be more mechanisms model in 2H, tractors.... wheel loader.... crane truck..... backhoe.... Bulldozer.... all are welcome.... I do a simple summary about the flagship from years, hopefully this get some guidelines but no certainty. 2005 - Crane 2006 - Truck 2007 - Construction vehicle 2008 - Other (Off-loader) 2009 - Truck 2010 - Construction vehicle 2011 - Truck 2012 - Other (Off-loader) 2013 - Crane 2014 - Construction vehicle 2015 - Truck 2016 - Construction vehicle 2017 - Truck 2018 - Crane 2019 - Construction vehicle 2020 - Truck 2021 - Construction vehicle??? Other??? Quote

Something new like BWE in 2016 or another bagger / dozer like vehicle? One thing for sure us possible (but highly unlikely and has never been) front tracked and rear wheeled combine harvester; TLC has all parts needed, so there is no need to construct new parts for this... 1gor Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 @Jundis that kind of truck would be nice, but almost big as Arocs (finally my Autocorrect did not invent new word ), or it would be Mack size... So far next year bagger sounds interesting... Quote

Azani Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 As a point of interest for those who follow TECHNIC, I have the native English language names obatibed from American retailers for four of the ten general release 1HY kits, and they differ slightly from those reported by StoneWars.de. 42120 in particular might help to clear up some of the confusion. 42116 Skid Steer Loader 42117 Race Plane 42120 Rescue Hovercraft 42121 Heavy Duty Excavator Cheers! 17 hours ago, Jundis said: Yes. As I understand the setup, it's typically and generally accepted in the fan community that ABS has been pushed to the reasonable extent judged feasible for implementation into consumer products (i.e., general release sets), possibly excepting the corollaries for certain gears that are understood as implicit for gear movement to work as a guarantee in 3-4 kg.+ kits. Sariel is a bona fide expert on gears and gear functionality, and thus I would suspect that his MOCs have put at least a few of the limits to the test. Quote

Yeah... that’s why it time to come back again, since we have new technology system now.... I feel that backhoe suit to Control + concept which is creating more playability for customer to buy & enjoy it. Front & rear Outrigger.., front & back shovel, or maybe turning cabin.... And maybe time for new tyre.... smaller Claas trye :) ? Quote
