Count Vroskri Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 The islanders of Polynesia often traveled on huge rafts called crab claws, named after the distinctive shape of the sail. There is evidence these could grow as big as a frigate, or even a ship of the line. Just a little build. I don't really like the sails, but I think I quite like it overall. C and C appreciated. Quote
blackdeathgr Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Nice one count! I don't like the sail either but the boat in general is well built Quote
NOD Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 That is a nice raft. Like me, you probably enjoyed Walt Disney's Moana. The masts look similar. The sail looks like after a storm. Maybe you could improve the sail? Quote
Count Vroskri Posted September 14, 2020 Author Posted September 14, 2020 @NOD @blackdeathgr @JintaiZ Thanks, I'm working on a new sail pattern. Quote
jan kusters Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 looks great! I love the boat! And for the crab-sail, the solution for the spars is pretty nice too. Quote

Stoertebricker Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 I am plannig to build something similar, too. First I wanted to buy some "Moana" sets for the sails but probably I should go for some self made, too :) Quote
