Mirandir Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 How does he expect to sell that for $275 though? Well it's a rare set (only 500 produced) and it's MISB so it wouldn't suprise me if he could get that much for it. And give it a few years and it'll probably go for even more... Quote
WhiteFang Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 IMO, this is something only the most diehard completists need worry about. You had just read my mind! I am hoping to get this set somehow, to complete my entire Indiana Jones collection. $275 is just too absurd. I will have to check around, and wait for a better buy. Just have to wait though. Quote
Pencoin Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 this is a joke right? Thast seems mega to much for that little thing doesnt it? Quote
KDog Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Yeah, I'm very unimpressed. I thought Lego would offer something different than what they would ever offer in stores, or include a minifig that wouldn't be available in wide release until later (like a ToD set with Shorty or something). This just feels like a set that didn't make the cut for retail. It doesn't even represent a real scene from a movie. I have someone trying to get this set for me at SDCC, but I'm not going to be too worried if he doesn't. And if I do get it, I might end up selling it. I dunno. Quote
Pencoin Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 hey K-dude if you get it and decide to sell how much would you sell it for? Quote
Ctrl+Alt+Esc Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 hey K-dude if you get it and decide to sell how much would you sell it for? give him a chance to get it first before jumping on him Quote
The Cobra Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Two more on ebay, one cheaper, the other one more expensive. Quote
darkrebellion Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 I am really unimpressed with this and I definitely won´t buy it . I think the star wars set is way better then this thing . Quote
Athos Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 If it was a normal set I might buy a couple to get the natives. But I'm not willing to pay the premium that comes from exclusivity. Steve Quote
SirNadroj Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I really love the little temple. I already have the indy jeep, though. I'd only buy this set for it's collectability. I'd never open it. These are much more limited than the SW Clone exclusive.... I'm checking eBay frequently! My birthday's coming up soon too, so I really want one of these puppies; anyone want to sell? Anyway, dissappointed it's a re-pack of the jeep, but then again, the promo is sponsered by Brick Master! Quote
DJ Force Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Here are some better pics, along with a nice lifesize Lego Indy: http://sdcc08.figures.com/showphoto.php?photo=1708 Quote
Hotshot Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 That littel sets, to that big box? No, thanks Quote
Mirandir Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Hehe, just noticed that seller on eBay did get $275 for it as that item is now sold... Quote
Wout Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 If lego would make it a normal set, I would buy it for 15 euro but no more. It's nice, but not that nice. Quote
Oky Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 This set is actually kinda nice. It's more original than the SW set at least. The SW exclusive was a combination of two BPs that were (and at some places still are) widely available with only a couple new minifigs added. This one has Indy and the natives that are only available in the temple set and the Jeep that is only available for BrickMaster subscribers, plus it has a neat ramp/pit/temple thingy. I would buy it for like twenty bucks or so, but of course it's more expensive than that. Quote
Escape The Fate Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I could have worked at the Lego booth at comic con but by the time i realized it, everyone else at work had applied but maybe next year. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Looks pretty cool, but I won't be able to get it. Looks like that skull does something. Quote
Anubis Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Hmm... yeah I'm in Baltimore right now... is the exclusive and Baltimore Comic-con too? Quote
Dovchenko Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 You've got to be kidding me... 275$ for that? Yeah right, some unlucky person just had to spend all of his money... to think people in Africa starve while some people buy stupid things like this. Lack of thought/bad looking exclusive off. Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 It’s not a very impressive set, so I don’t mind not owning it, but it just bugs me that it’s yet another line I can’t own the complete set of. . Quote
Dovchenko Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 It’s not a very impressive set, so I don’t mind not owning it, but it just bugs me that it’s yet another line I can’t own the complete set of. . Another great point by a great poster. This set also stops people from being completists. LEGO should know by now that completionists = lots of money. People will buy anything and I mean ANYTHING just to finish up a theme. Quote
BillytheKid Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I have already 3 sets of Indy. Well 3 indi's is too much for me :P . And my opnion to this exclusive set: It's just a little extra, not an extra set. It hasn't a serial number on it :P . Quote
dillthepill Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Wow what a stupid waste of money and a exclusive set Personally i dont like any of the Indiana Jones sets at all Quote
