Here's two MOCs I've been occupied with for a few days (and maybe a few others  ), they're basically two small patrol boats. The larger one is armed with three main weapons, a cannon mounted on the front (its a SNOT turret which I was experimenting with), a small anti air gun in the middle, and on the stern there is a heavy machine gun for close encounters.

A view of the back there is a small storage area for scuba equipment.

The crew of four that operates this boat.

Next we have the smaller boat which is used for quick patrols generally in shallow water, there is one heavy machine gun on the bow to engage enemies, this design is heavily based on Chuck's Orca light water craft, (which I hope is okay with him  ), its mostly just bigger.

One person is needed to pilot the boat while another mans the machine gun there is also room for a few passengers in this case two.

There is a small light on the side along with other various equipment the tank treads are supposed to be ammunition but I don't have the smaller ones.

Thanks for reading as always please leave any Comments you have about my MOCs (both good and bad are welcome).

Before I comment on the models themselves can I ask was it a conscientious decision to use that table, as the reflective qualities it has reminds me of water and the sea, even if it wasn’t I think it adds to the photos.

For an experiments the snot cannon has come out very well and looks great, overall the boat is in good proportions and well laid own, the wheelhouse could do with being slightly higher in my opinion but only a little, as it seems the cannon obscures most of the forward view.

The second craft you’ve managed to cram a lot of things into a very small space, I would suggest removing the side flaps so it keeps a sleek line to the side of the boat. Other than that the bow the wheel section and the machine gun all tool fin.

I really like the first one. It looks like it could get in blow m#g@bl0k$ up and get out. I am sad to say that I'm not a fan of the small one though. Looks like you could board my one large transport/ patrol boat with those. I better make some new boats!

These are very cool, I particularly like the first boat and all the weapons, and the creative way of making that anchor. :sweet: However, I'm one of those guys who doesn't like the non-uniform mix of grey and bley, so that detracts from the model. Still, it's a good build, and I love the SNOT look of it all, especially the deck of the first boat. Very cool.

Thanks for your comment, I usually take photos of my creations on that table, but I did notice that it looks a bit like water (even has a few waves), I'm glad you noticed it :sweet: . I also think the turret came out well, and decided to use a SNOT turret in another MOC. I may raise the the wheelhouse up by either a few plates or one brick.

The first one favorite as well, but what is it about the little one that you don't like? Is the blockeness of it, the mix of grey and bley, or something else?

Thanks for the nice comment, as for the mix of grey and bley, I don't have enough of one colour to make a boat out of it  . Maybe it could be explained as wear in the paint causing it to fade  .

Keep the comments coming :classic: .

A very neat work, with some fine details like the big cannon on your larger and the machine gun on your smaller craft. :classic:

Both crafts look very realistic and pretty though indeed, well done!

I'm loving these - the little one is cool, but the large one is excellent - really good, and it inspires me to start a Navy myself. Of course...mine will have to be green. It's a tradition you know.

I am really liking the bigger of the two boats! The front is very well done, the pipe looks like a rail which is cool and the main turret is very well designed (nice use of SNOT by the way). The custom anchor is a nice touch. The roof is great in that is has a 'busy' look to it without looking too crowded. I also like the rear facing machine gun.

My own feedback on this model is that the back is a little blocky, you did well to add something to the back of the boat but perhaps a curved rear-bit or sloped-bit would have been more realistic. Other than that perhaps having 4 crew members with matching torsos, preferrably not just Aquazone figs (you could change the arms/legs colours so people don't immeditely associate them with Aquazone)? But I wouldn't get too down on these things because overall this is an excellent piece of work! :classic:

The second boat has a very nice forward machine gun and I like how the steering wheel is off-centre, that was a good idea. I have no idea what the circular disc is at the back but I find it strangely appropriate, don't ask me why! Nice touch! Using the 1x2 grill plates in the interior is very good thinking too.

If you wanted feedback on this model, I feel that there are some really nice touches but overall I don't like the shape. It's a little too blocky for my liking, in the same way the back of the bigger boat is too blocky (this boat suffers from the same problem at the back). Perhaps some extra slopes at the front would break up the shape a little, what do you think?

Overall these are two great MOCs and you should be very proud of them! :sweet:

Make a comic!!!

Yay, another positive comment :classic: , I actually am thinking about making a comic perhaps during the summer since I will have plenty of free time. I have a large number of MOCs I could use, but I'm really worried about the picture quality that the comic might have :sceptic: .

A green navy, that would be interesting  , so much for camouflage. Though I really do hope that you do decide to make a navy as you build excellent creations, and I'm sure your navy would be no different.

I'm getting of topic here, but do you know when the next episode of "Grunts" will be coming out.

Thanks Basilicus, I'm really glad that you like a lot of the little details I put into this MOC. As for the shape I'll have to admit that it is rather plain, and blocky. I was aiming to create a very simple look on both of the boat hulls, since in real life modern military boats tend to be rather simple. I'm not even cure what that circular disk is supposed to be, it can be something that the driver can back on so he doesn't fall out (kind of like some sort of chair), random supply container, or both.

Thanks for all of the comments guys keep em' coming :classic:

I like the bigger boat really much.

The SNOT turret looks good and I like the way you build the anchor,a good piece choice.

The smaller one is good, but as some other members already pointed out the flaps ruin the sleek look of it. :sceptic:

I would try to use some more slopes for the bow.

EN navy ON! :classic:

MacK, this is a very great MOC. I am not an expert on naval vessels. But, the size of the big gunboat really appeals to me very much especially the turrent. The smaller vessel is sleek and quick. Great for fast pursit.

For a moment, I was really decieved by that table top as a puddle of water. I find that this is a very smart way of bringing your vessels across to us.

I getting of topic here, but do you know when the next episode of "Grunts" will be coming out.

Which is the last episode you saw? I've run four new ones relatively recently.

To avoid missing them, you can either bookmark the main Grunts page here, or sign up to the Tabletown forums here. I don't always post them here any more.

Oh, thanks Dr. S, I asssumed that you still posted them here  . I was starting to worry that you didn't make them any more. Also thankyou to everyone else who has posted a comment for my MOC, if anyone else has comments please post them :classic:

Very nice mocs... I like how you used the clear table for the water effect.

PS. That table looks familiar, I think I have the same table in my backyard..lol

I like the larger ship

Looks really cool!

I'd turn your smaller vessel into a water-land assault vehicle with a folding ramp in the front like they used in WWII.

Just an idea.

Thats a good idea, maybe I'll build a landing craft (for another fraction I've been building) next time I have time. However I'm not going to turn this small boat into a landing craft, as I intended for it to be a small patrol craft, since this particular fraction just airlifts troops to where they need to be  .

Also I'm really happy about the amount of comments I've gotton for these MOCs (my first hot topic :sweet: ), if anyone else has a comment (good or bad) please post it.
