And these?

"Hey Arthur, shadow up, baby-cakes."

"Perhaps you wouldn't mind answering my question first?"

"What are we supposed to do, if you're the only one with fingerprints on the terminal? You restarted the FTL right, wouldn't your prints be all over it?"

Their fingerprints don't match the teapot shard either.

Just to be clear I'm checking the teapot shard and the terminal in Engineering, correct?

Seems that it was from a scuffle of sorts.

"Seems like Mrs. Fingerprint Everyone needs to take a look at whose hands are in a bit of a rough state while she's at it."

"Bruh. There's no way dude. Could it be..."

I'd like to inspect Ezra's hands for wounds that would likely match those one would would receive from gripping a sharp shard of glass from a teapot and using it to stab someone

"You know as much about checking fingerprints as I do, so by all means. If my fingerprints are the only ones on the terminal then I'm a suspect. I'm already a suspect. I know I didn't do it. I mean, I actually do know that, but can't prove it to any of you currently. Unless you want to check the ship's scanners yourself. I do believe the person who did it, snuck in after I left Engineering, just before the door closed as I had just left Engineering when the drive shut down. And before any of you ask about bruising my ribs on the bathroom sink, I was just roleplaying. I was informed much later where I actually was when the drive shut down. Your resistance to being finger-printed yourself doesn't actually hinge on any of that, though. Especially with the Space Police on the way. Your prior service in the Navy and knowledge of computers and vessels definitely makes you a suspect and now you're resisting being fingerprinted. How interesting."

Gabriella presses her fingerprints onto her fingerprint record and offers the sheet to the Captain to check the shard and the Engineering terminal.

"There, then. We'll know in 24-48 hours where my fingerprints appear. I believe I've only handled the teapot shard with gloves, though it's hard to remember what I did."

“And you’re the only one we’re aware of that is intimately aware of how the FTL drive works. If anyone would know how to sabotage the vessel so specifically it would be you and none of us would have the expertise to question it. Combine that with you’re erratic and combative behavior leaves me wondering if you’re trying to control the investigation instead of helping it. So excuse me for being suspicious.”

Arthur offers his hand to fingerprint.

“Well we already established you’ve been in passenger’s rooms, so I’d be interested to see what else you’ve been up to.”

"In addition to whatever Arthur suggested about the spare room, we could visit the Exercise room to setup a triage for the patient. Although, I don't know if we should just wait for the Space Police. Why are we doing anything at all if the Space Police are coming. I guess they could be in on it? Weird that they're on their way. Aren't we moving at faster than light? Have we just been sitting there. Anyway, I suppose we could set up triage better in the spare room. I guess I didn't realize we had an empty cabin. You'd think Blue Star would be interested in and able to sell out the voyage. Or have a sick bay instead of spare rooms or "Engineering Access"..."

"Surely Mr Parry has already been triaged as the only one of us injured and in need of medical assistance? Do you mean set up a sort of sick-bay type area?"

"Is it possible that the other vessel in our vicinity that we found with our sensors was in fact the space police vessel? Have they been following us? If so, why?"

"I've already made clear my desire to visit this empty cabin, and I've already mused aloud at how odd it is to have such an unprofitable space on such a long journey. It's part of the reason I want to see just what is inside there. If it really is empty there should be a bed for Mr Parry to recover in. Having his condition improve will greatly increase our chances of getting him to answer our questions, and I have a lot of questions for him."

You’re checking the teapot shard. To my knowledge you didn’t get the terminal fingerprinted.

Well, I asked if I could take a solo trip there and I've been getting answers.

"Probably because they're idiots and will arrest everyone they think is suspect, meaning we have to find the perp before they get here to save our own butts. But it does look like Ezra's hands have been injured by the teapot shard."

All the same, none of the fingerprints you've taken match the terminal in engineering. There's only two discernable fingerprints on the the terminal - one of which is your own. The other would belong to the captain, however you do remember Captain Bennett helping you to restore main power, so it would make sense for her prints to be there.

This chapter will last another three hours or so. If you haven't decided where to go by that time, we can decide at the start of Chapter Four, where we'll be joined by a newcomer!
