I would definitely buy that! Although I can’t see Lego making 12 new bespoke animal costume moulds??? Or they could repeat past ones? They do need to repeat the pig costume guy because he was not dressed in a fancy outfit like the others. Quote

Every CMF has new parts (either moulds, prints, or both), so 12 new animal heads should be easy to do; additionally, the parts for the dragon, rabbit, and (possibly) pig still exist. Quote

Pig- done Rat - done Ox - done Tiger - done Rabbit - done Dragon - is on the way so…we will need dog, sheep/ram, rooster, monkey, snake, horse - taht’s 6 animals we waiting. I don’t need pig costume, honestly, becuase I got him off Bricklink. However, Zodiac CMF Series sound wonderful. I’m open to new prints! Quote
Robert8 Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Snake costume I'm sure will be nightmare fuel Quote

They need to redo that piggy - he has no nice celebration clothes! I also wonder how they're going to make a snake costume person. LOL Quote
Shiva Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 Head piece, tail piece. = Dragon cost... wait, snake costume Quote

LOL I could imagine one minifigure wiht greenish gra snake headgear with two fangs on the upper side of the opening and a “determined” facial expression. But tail piece… Not sure! Of course Medusa’s tailpiece from Series 10 is used as Python’s tail in Ninjago very recently. So…we will see! Quote
Herky Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 I like the restaurant but I am more excited for the dragon, think I might be the only one. Quote
bitbamboo Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 LEGO 40611 Das Jahr des Drachen: Bilder vom Neujahres-GWP (promobricks.de) First pics - for me - of this year's zodiac animal: dragon. Really colorfull and with nice touches of NPU with saxophone 13808 and epaulettes 2526 Quote
bdw Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Greetings, I have been patiently waiting (or waiting patiently) for y'all to start rumors about the new 2025 Chinese New Year set. Here are my 2 cents to get the ball rolling. According to Google, 2025 is the Year of the Snake. What does this mean? It sounds bad, as I'm from Australia and snakes are incredibly dangerous and not to be trusted. Avoid at all costs. However, reading up on a few websites, I have found out, after 3 seconds of searching, a few interesting things that could make Year of the Snake Lego sets pretty cool. I recall there was a Year of the Snake set in the past. In 2013 there was a set with a red snake designed by Xiaodong Wen, according to Brickset. My hopes in 2025 is to have a set or 2 based around old mythology stories. Cent 1) Year of the snake is associated with wisdom, intuition and elegance. Also good luck. Even a protector. However, this can be different in different parts of China. Some believe the snake is untrustworthy. Cent 2) There is a story about a young female snake, Bai Suzhen, that was saved by a mortal man, Xu Xian. She then spent her life trying to become human in order to find the man, now in his next life, and marry him. There seem to be different versions of the story (in one, she was already human when she first met him), so don't shoot me if you know a slightly different version. Either way, an interesting Lego set this could inspire. What are your thoughts? Quote
hikouki Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 The CNY sets used to be exclusive to the China market, but ended up being a global series. Given that, I can imagine Lego trying to keep the series around themes that perhaps could become popular outside of China and not be somewhat obscure. I think Lego makes CNY sets, then just puts the Zodiac animal in. It isn't exactly the Zodiac animal that dictates the theme of the set. Anyhow, I have been wanting to see Lego do an Ice Palace, or Ice Festival, just like the ones they have in Harbin every year. Quote
Lion King Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 I still want dragon boat race set. Quote
bdw Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Hikouki- is the Lego set "Story of Nian" obscure in your eyes? I think if any set has a nice build, play features and good minifigs, it will be popular and if it revolves around a traditional story, then there's education as a bonus. I understand the zodiac animal might just be thrown in as decoration, but still, I think a little set based around the story I mentioned above could be cool. Just for my own interests in mythology. Lion King- you mean you want set 80103, or a new version? I've been living in Vietnam the past 5 years so bought 80102 here and have 80103 waiting for me in Australia. I think 80103 was a world wide set. What do people think could be the next Chinese New Year sets? We had a house, we had a restaurant, we had a temple and a garden and a parade. What's left? Pagoda? A pagoda has just been released in the Monkey Kid theme so I doubt that will appear in CNY Quote
hikouki Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Leaks are out regarding 80116 and 80117. I'm liking the new Year of the Snake minifig. Bummed out though that there is no modular-like building this year. Quote

Robert8 Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I'm a Snake Finally my year!!! (the snake mask isnt as bad as I thought it'd be) Quote
Lyichir Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 The new sets look great! Two of them had leaked earlier but the lucky cat is a nice surprise—very cute and affordable too. I like the new dumpling piece, too. Quote
Russell844 Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I'm sad that none of them fit into a City like in previous years. Quote
karrit Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 I usually get whatever the Building is for this theme. I have no interest in any of these upcoming sets aside from a few new parts so I'll be waiting for those to be added to PAB. Quote
hikouki Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 I do think all three look nice. But Maneki-neko is Japanese. Quote
Classic_Spaceman Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 New chain piece confirmed! I am not sure how I feel about the mask (especially after 2024's beautiful dragon headdress piece!); it looks more snek than snake, TBH. Quote
hrdknxbrix Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 A small pic of the 2025 Year of the Snake set (40707) is here. Quote
