GBC Detachable Cable Car / Chairlift

Here is my Detachable Cable Car / Chairlift / Gondola / Funicular - GBC (great ball contraption) based on Pierre Georges's brilliant design.

The way the gondolas catch on to the cable and releases from the cable is absolutely fantastic! Could you share some detailed pictures of these parts?

Now that's a major project, how many hours did you put into it? I love the way it works, its a an awesome GBC, great job!

I really appreciate it.

I started the project on August 16 and finished this Sunday (14 November).

Almost every weekend I gave it 12 hours of work.

And almost every day in the evening I gave it in the average 3 hours.

So know you can count it somebody :)

Wish I could show to everybody in person, but I am afraid this won't be possible. I am willing to help anybody of you, if you decide to construct it yourselves.

Looks brilliant, and very smooth.  I have been working on something similar with two snags; maybe the same as yours?  First the clamp for the gondolas to grip and release the cable and second the join in the cable (to make a loop) which is inevitably thicker / stiffer than the rest of the cable.   Any suggestions on solving those two?
