Well this is much less impressive now, I like the dark Azure a lot but am a sucker for the Dark Turquoise (As a 90s kid when the color was prevalent) 

I'm not certain the technic 2x1bricks are what is used but the B-model has what looks like technic bricks in the back

@JintaiZ Ultimately, beauty is in the eye of beholder. To me the 42117 looks odd, with blocky shapes, coffin-like fuselage and way too many exposed mechanical pieces.

To me gearing is not necessary: because of the small wheels the propeller is spinning quite fast.

The plane is - due to its size - very "swooshable" but technic function obviously only works on the runway.

It is! And this beholder agrees with @JintaiZ

It's a Technic model so I'm quite happy to see mechanical parts, and I can certainly live with not-quite realistic shaping, particularly at this scale.

Those who want a more realistic looking 10€ Lego aeroplane with fewer gears showing, can try 31099.
