SpacePolice89 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 It is now after midnight and I can't buy the Renegade (I'm a Lego Insider). It is supposed to be available on 1.1.2025. Until midnight CET there was a banner "LEGO® Insider Early Access on this set – 1/1-1/3" but now it is gone and I can't still buy the set Quote

Shiva Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Atleast here, the sets became available around, or after 01:30 CET "00:30 GMT" Quote

I bought it now in the morning instead ( 1.1.2024, 8:30 AM CET) as soon as I woke up. I gave up at 1:05 AM CET during the night and went to bed. I had originally planned to buy it directly after the fireworks and New Year celebrations. Happy New Year to everyone! Edited January 1 by SpacePolice89 Quote
jodawill Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I picked mine up this morning. The line was insane! I didn't realize this was such a big release day. It was the first time I've ever gone for release day. We got there right at 10am when they opened, and we waited an hour to get into the store. The line was as long when we left as it was when we got there. I was surprised by how small the box is. It's about 2/3 the size of the Galaxy Explorer and about half as heavy I'd guess, which is surprising given their similar part counts. The box is beautiful. I'm not upset about the size at all. I like more reasonably sized sets myself. I know some people wish they'd used the vintage packaging, but I like the modern look on this one. It's not as boring as typical Icons boxes. The blue grid pattern is a nice touch to add contrast with the black ship, and the Blacktron logo looks fantastic on the front. Quote

For January 1 releases, I'm usually in line about two hours (give or take) before the store opens, and I'm usually not the first there. The one mall here in St. Louis with a LEGO store opens at 10, and the mad dash from the mall entrance door line to the LEGO store line is certifiably insane. The final line that forms at the store merges from multiple entrance door lines. Luckily, this year I managed to have a family member snag one online for me at midnight as they were ordering the entire Animal Crossing wave. (so I avoided the melee!) steele Posted January 2 Posted January 2 (edited) We finally got a Lego store around here a few months ago, so this was the first time ever I could pick up an "exclusive" set on release day. Arrived about an hour after it opened, walked right in and grabbed a Renegade, and went to the counter. In and out in about 5 mins, most of which was waiting for the people ahead of me to finish paying using a complicated mix of cash, gift cards, and credit cards. Edited January 2 by steele Quote
PlanetLEGO Posted January 3 Posted January 3 So no more LEGO Space stuff for the rest of the year now? :( Quote
SpacePolice89 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I got a a message from DHL early this morning that they'll deliver the Renegade Today. Now I have to look out the window every five minutes to check if the van is coming. Fortunately I'm not working today. Quote

Use Track&Trace on your order and you can find out where the delivery van is? 😉 Quote

That is the latest update. I guess I'll be the last one on their list because I live on the far end of a peninsula. Yesterday the package was shipped from Brussels, Belgium. I believe that Lego Shop at Home is located there. Do you know since you live in Belgium? Edited January 3 by SpacePolice89 Quote

I believe that Lego Shop at Home is located there. Do you know since you live in Belgium? My orders are sent from LEGO to the DPD depot in Vilvoorde (just next to Brussels). From there on it goes through the internal channels of DPD, and with the parcel number I can track the delivery van through the DPD website. In short: go to your LEGO site account overview, and click on the tab "my orders". From there on you can click through to the trace page of the delivery company (DPD). The day the parcel will be delivered you can follow the whereabouts of the van on the map. But I guess by now you should have received the parcel. :) Quote

Could be a GWP but we will have to see if we get more infos about it. 3 hours ago, SpacePolice89 said: Three and a half hours ago the delivery van started from their depot which is a two hour drive from my house. Germany used to be delivered from there too, but since last year they are shipping it from czech republik. Where they deliver it from, depends on where you live and can also be the reason why one european country can still order sets sold out in another. Quote

I got it half an hour after my last post. I've nearly finished building it. I'm very satisfied with what I've built so far. It's a truly amazing set. 1 hour ago, Black Falcon said: Well so far there seems to be another Blacktron Set coming but that is basically all we know (and ofc it isn´t certain that there is really something coming). So probably best not to put to much exitement into it before that happens IMO. Quote
Space78 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 As one who is not really interested in Space sets beyond Classic Space, I'm wondering what direction Lego will take with these "re-imagined" sets going into the future. Are they done with CS? Is the Galaxy Explorer 10497 all we will get for CS? Do people expect Lego to march forward through the years with Space Police, Blacktron II, etc. issuing re-imagined sets? Probably no one knows, but would be interested in opinions. Quote

Honestly, they should just bring it back, even if it's for one set. Take the cost out of the paycheck of whoever approved its removal. Quote
jodawill Posted January 3 Posted January 3 There's no chance they'll stop doing classic space before they release black and blue minifigures. Quote

SpacePolice89 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Here it is. I really enjoyed building it. It looks even better in real life compared to the pictures. Quote

Glad to hear you like it. And well they do often better in real life than in Pictures. And especially they tend to look bigger and more worth the money often ;). Quote
RichardGoring Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I saw it in a store display and it looks great. Not going to get it until a decent GWP comes along, but looking forward to it when I do. Quote
