The head is avaiable but seems like the body is not. Anyways not a good deal since the head is already almost as expensive as the whole CMF.

OK.  So my thought was if the blue space baby is not available on PAB even though it is in a CMF and a regular set, then unclear why anyone would expect the white space baby to show up on PAB.

The only reason really is because the Blacktron GWP minifigure was avaiable. Anyways I wonder why that one was avaiable, as normally GWP exclusive minifigure aren´t sold at Pick a brick.

Well…. The blue Astro baby was not suppsoed to be available on PAB if it’s directly from CMF? Now it’s spreading a bit into another CMF series and GWP….

The blue space baby is in set 31124 Space Roller Coaster.  If you go to PAB on Lego.com and type in the set number, the head piece of the blue space baby is available, but not the body.  So, yes it was in a CMF last year, but now it's in a regular (Creator 3 in 1) set as of August 2023.

Mmhmm okay I didn’t pay attention very close to Creator 3-in-1. But it’s nice to see that Astro baby showing up in a regular set. Thanks.

New pics show the ugly stickers on the GWP Space Babies set. To be expected knowing Lego's avarice but still disappointing. A slap in the face to Space's proud and long sticker-free legacy.

And yes I know about the 1978 chest stickers and that one flag and the Exploriens magnetic stickers so you don't have to tell me. Those exceptions prove the rule.

On the other hand, that 4 x 3 windscreen hasn't been released in trans yellow before right? Same with the 1 x 2 tall bricks I think, unless they're in some 2024 Friends set.

Stickers? Well, there goes any interest I had in that set. (I had none before.) Good thing too, too much FOMO already for everything else in 2023-2024.

I suspect you are right and there will be stickers.  Not surprised Lego would not spend extra on a GWP.  On the other hand, box art is not always accurate.  60430 Interstellar spaceship shows a clear or very light gray/black transparent windshield on the box and on Lego's website.  In reality it is very dark such that it's hard to see the minifig inside.  I was quite disappointed in this.  In fact, an aqua-blue transparent windshield would have tied into the other bricks that color, and you would easily be able to see into the cockpit.  Look closely at the pictures on the Lego site.  In some of them the windshield does look like it is a light transparent blue color.

Anyway, hoping we will see soon enough.  Is there any updated information from sources on the dates this will be available and the purchase threshold?

You could see there are stickers on the worse pics already, so no real surprise here.

I mean Im not surprised that GWPs like this one have stickers except for Forest Hideout set.  It’s becuase the shields from the hideout set later showed p in Lino Knights’ Castle set in 2022.

Blackthorn cruiser don’t have any printed parts that meant for Icons sets, I believe.  In fact, I have black torn crusier and I will sell it soon. It’s not becuase of stickers. It’s….too nostalgia to me. It feels too faithful, I could not put my finger on it. The build is just “ehhh” but I love that minifigure. Just wanted to drop my thoughts.

Anyways, back to GWP topic…you shold not expect too much that GWP is sticker-free.

Pretty much this. There's a major difference between something like the Galaxy Explorer set, which was produced in large quantities for numerous retailers and generated its own independent revenue from each sale so had the budget to go all out on prints, and things like GWPs, which are only produced as a small incentive for people to buy other, more widely stocked sets and only rarely have more than a couple unique recolors or prints (which this set already has, in the form of its white recolored and printed space baby minifigure). A GWP not having that isn't some slight against the space theme in particular, and it's definitely not "avarice" (which is not a word I ever expected to hear in reference to something as petty and inconsequential as a handful of stickers).

I may be in the minority this, but I'm not a big fan of this set. I was excited to get another space baby, but these have classic smiles instead. I see a distraction between micro scale and what I call "baby scale." Baby scale is similar to micro scale, but it involves some enlarged features to make things cute, such as not to scale wheels. These builds are all scaled down copies of the original sets, which to me, just makes them low budget knockoffs of the originals. They really ought to go one way or the other.

Still, I could incorporate the white baby into my display and just hope people don't notice the eyes. The trans yellow panels are also a nice new part and I hope they show up on PAB.

I’m just disappointed that they didn’t give us a red (or even yellow) mini-scale astronaut rather a blue one. We’ve already had blue with the Space baby, and red or yellow would fit better with these sets. I guess they’re going with blue for the iconic/Benny factor though.

I just wish they'd bring back the old themes properly instead of these drips of nostalgic cash grabs. None of the classic themes have properly returned since the 2015 pirates wave.

Interesting that they are doing a "proper" space smiley face rather than the "space baby" twinkling eyes and more curved smile.  It shows some effort on Lego's part to make this a "micro-scale" CS-style set.  It's still a must have for me, but I agree with the review on New Elementary that the threshold price seems high for what it is, especially with stickers.  I do like the rocket, transport, and command centers, though.  The little spaceship doesn't add much for me.  Fortunately, I have a lot on my Lego wish list, so I'll meet the threshold.  Just wondering if I should wait to see if they run a double Insiders points while this GWP is available?

I hadn't noticed from the leaks that these have the classic smiley! Honestly I sort of wish they'd done something like that for the baby version originally, given that the brown astronaut it came with didn't have sparkles in its eyes unlike the baby. Also, for all the hubbub about stickers the sticker sheet is incredibly small, with only five stickers used. I'm more than happy with that given the actual budget for new parts has gone toward useful trans-yellow recolors and a newly recolored baby fig.

The price threshold is somewhat high, but I think I might order the Eldorado Fortress set to get this once the availability period starts (since I hadn't gotten that one yet). Make it a double dose of classic nostalgia.

Blue would cost less than other colors because the blue body is already in production for the Space Coaster.

What does everyone think of the face change?

To me it makes sense with Lego's intent for this set: a micro-build of several CS sets.  In that context the "space baby" face makes no sense.  If this set had been more of a space-themed "playground", then the space baby face makes sense.  So, I'm really glad they went with a CS face print.  For some, it will make the figures even more desirable.  My oldest daughter loves CS minifigs and now is dying to get the two CS microfigures, but does not want to spend the $$ to get the set, so she will wait for the secondary market to get the figs.  For me the bigger question is what will be the asking price for the microfigs?  Other than the new windshield (and the stickers!), they are the only unique pieces in this set, right?

As to your point in the earlier post, I think all we are going to get is "drips" of CS themed sets.  I just don't see Lego bringing back a CS theme.  Particularly not now with all of the new space-themed sets they are doing this year.

I almost skipped this because I don't like the face print change, and I wasn't motivated to spend money just to get it. But I learned some things recently that made me concerned that the 10320 parts won't be available on PAB much longer, so I went ahead and ordered all of the parts from that set I've been waiting to order.

I saw someone building it in the store this afternoon and it looked like a nice set. It just bugs me that the figures don't match the ones I already have.

I would have rather had two "space baby" faces than the bland classic face. If they wanted to convey classic space but tiny they could have gone with the trophy figs like they did with that small castle set. Maybe I would feel differently if this was first and they had reused them as cute space baby later, but I cannot bring myself to think of them as simply micro-spacemen.

Page for the Micro Rocket Launchpad GWP is now up on U.S. Lego.com.  Looks like Lego is valuing the set at $29.94.

Placed my order to get this one.  Lego now has a warehouse outside Chicago, so it only takes one day from point of shipping to get to me.  Might have it tomorrow???? :excited:

Looks like 40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad is selling at around $60 (and up) on the secondary market in the U.S.  It will be interesting to see if that goes up since Lego sold out so fast.
