Looks like 40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad is selling at around $60 (and up) on the secondary market in the U.S.  It will be interesting to see if that goes up since Lego sold out so fast.

I think Lego underestimated the popularity of this GWP and will make it available again in a year or so. They did it with Forestmen hideout GWP and that Blacktron GWP set (I think - not a 100% sure on this one), therefore we may expect a price drop on the secondary market afterwards. It's one of the best GWP sets of this calibre for me though

I hope this GWP comes back, or that the 1x2x2 trans-yellow panels are used in another set (maybe #10391?), because right now those parts are selling for a fortune on Bricklink. As you can imagine, they have plenty of uses for NCS builds!

I think it will depend on whether it was planned to make it avaiable for a second time or not. The forestmen hideout was planned to be avaiable twice from the beginning and it wouldn´t wonder if the same would be true with the Blacktron-Cruiser, though we can´t be sure about that one.

Anyways there have been some GWPs that sold out quite fast but haven´t come back, so I don´t think they will bring a GWP back just because of that.

I just built the Micro Rocket set. It's pretty great. Other than stickers, I have no complaints. All builds are super cute and fun.

I tried to put on the first small sticker with just my fingers and oof, big mistake. They're so small and my thumbs are too big...so I switched to using a brick separator after that. And then I got to the long sticker. Static cling made it bend and stick to the tile before I got it into position. Arg!

But anyway. At least the parts are nice. Love the new parts in trans yellow. I think keeping the baby face prints would have been funnier, but I get what they're going for with the classic smiley.

They are indeed nice little builds. I think the rocket transporter is my favorite, as it is the more versatile build.

As for stickers, I mosttimes put the brick on a separator, pick up the sticker on one of the edges of a small knife, and apply one side of the sticker on the brick holding the knife and separator in my hands. This way I can still remove the sticker from the brick if it isn't alligned well enough. Takes a couple of tries to apply the sticker, but since I can always pull it back that doesn't matter in most cases.

true, I'd forgotten about the Forestmen GWP arrangement. Anyway, even though I got my space GWP I hope they make it available again or, better yet, make it available for a purchase (even though they probably won't)

Man, still nothing on the rumored Moments black spaceship. Is it vaporware?

I certainly hope not, though I do find it suspicious that we have not gotten any new information beyond the initial description. What was the original source of the rumour?

The winners of the Explore The Cosmos challenge have been announced. Apparently these might be turned into insider rewards sets?

Two winners of the Fan Vote for this challenge will have the exclusive opportunity to see their submission transformed into an official LEGO Ideas Insiders Reward set! One base and one vehicle will be selected.

I didn't know about this contest at all so didn't submit or vote.

Thanks for sharing, i did not know about that contest either, or i would have cast some votes.  Some interesting concepts and models in there, for sure.  Wonder if Lego will make one or more of these.  It will be interesting to find out!

That's a very nice mini monorail set.

Yeah, I could see that one being a GWP,  At 250 pieces, it would probably be a higher threshold like $150-175.

I have to say, I just build the Micro Rocket Launchpad GWP (40712), and I was a bit underwhelmed.  I think it seemed much better in concept and in the picture on the box, than it was once built.  It's a nice little set, but I will not be seeking out another on the secondary market.  So, if Lego made the Micro Rail Command Center as a GWP, I'm concerned it might be similarly underwhelming "in person."

Dreamzzz... does not sell BUT they made long period plan. Theme will be here 4-6 years even people won't by. So...

We are discussing Alien Conquest, not Dreamzzz. But since you brought it up, I really think you underestimate Dreamzzz. It's selling well from what I read / see, and I myself have bought a few sets. Just because you don't see value, doesn't mean it has no value to others, and the inverse is true as well. Petitioning does nothing, and neither does boycotting or letter writing campaigns, as Lego is a singular manufacturer with no shareholders and no interest in outside influences.. basically, they do what they want. Also, constantly complaining about Dreamzzz, Marvel, and other themes does nothing, as these themes are not going anywhere anytime soon. Just accept it and move on,.. you'll be much happier person if you do this IMO.

I don't know why you're assuming Dreamzzz will be around 4-6 years even if it doesn't sell, most "big bang" themes of that sort begin with around a three-year plan (see also Chima, Nexo Knights). I also don't know if your assertion that Dreamzzz doesn't sell is even all that accurate. Lord knows it's not the first time people have assumed that of a theme with good, but not exceptional sales (again, see Chima, Nexo Knights). And when a theme REALLY struggles—like Vidiyo or Hidden Side—Lego typically doesn't hesitate to cut it off even earlier than that.

@legoturtle

I can't get that article to load without disabling adblocker, which I won't do. But even if it supports your claims, just because you read something on the internet, doesn't make it true. Big Bang themes, as @Lyichir explained, and around for 3 years and then evaluated for extensions (Ninjago, Chima, Nexo Knights), unless they tanked and then they are just pulled ASAP. (Hidden Side and Vidiyo) It makes no business sense to produce something nobody wants anyway...

They did make Alien Conquest, and it didn't sell.

I'm not sure there is any proof of it not selling. "Must not have sold well" is such a easy thing to say without any thought or actual knowledge that I don't trust it any more, even when a designer supposedly says it.

How poorly could have Alien Conquest really sold if Lego released Galaxy Squad soon after, with some of the alien designs looking similar to the leaked canceled Alien Conquest sets?

The article you linked, doesn´t really support what you are writing. It is true, they have a longer plan for this theme, though he states 3-4 years not 4-6. Also it is said nowhere, that the theme isn´t doing well, but quite the opposite that they are pleased with how it is doing so far.

A long time plan doesn´t mean, a theme won´t be canceled if it isn´t doing well. They had longer plans for Vidiyo and it got canceled.
