I think it's Teal or bust for me, gold really doesn't fit the CS aesthetic (also it's gonna happen inevitably for an anniversary if it loses) and the rest are just shades of astronauts that already exist.

Also worth considering if Teal is chosen it may help the price of Chief come down just a little bit

I voted gold! I think it's a neat concept that fits into Classic Space (since gold has always sorta kinda been a part of the color scheme, at least in the logo), feels appropriately snazzy, and would offer some neat parts (gold airtanks in particular feel like they could be pretty cool for steampunk figs or MOCs). By contrast, some of the other colors feel a little too similar to other colors we've already had.

Teal felt like the most Unique colour ( compared to existing spaceman colours) to me so its what I went with, gold would've been my second choice, though it's the one I feel is almost inevitable to happen at some point anyway for like the next big anniversary be it of space, minifigs or Lego itself.

I voted dark azure.  I really hesitated on gold.  I think it's the most different from what we've seen before, but I think as a color, gold is very inconsistent in presentation which works great for decorative elements, but not so great things, like spacesuits, that should be uniform in color.

Still, I almost regretted my choice when Murdoch17 mentioned the idea of statues with a head swap.

Anyone else feel that Gold was supposed to be in CMF series 26 as a sort of one in every box like the classic town cop from series 18?

Nah, we had Brown Spaceman in Series 24 last year so it was very unlikely for them to put gold spaceman in the most recent series.

I do understand that we are celebrating Year of Space and some of us hoped for new color for Classic Spaceman in Series 26 but it’s kinda too soon after Series 24.

I went with gold and the Ravens/Crows.

It definitely has an anniversary feel to it, which is why I picked it. That said, I doubt that LEGO will ever make one-per-box chase figures again, so this is likely not a cancelled design.

My vote was for the warm gold. Although the yellowish green (lime?) looks great too. I understand the bright color choices, but would personally be open to darker shades like dark blue, dark red, dark green, etc. probably won’t ever happen, but I would love to see them (I mean own them) nonetheless. 😉

TLG! just do all of them, you morons. :hmpf:

But if I have to choose just 1, then it matters what colour the visor helmet comes in. It does not come in dark turquoise, so that's ruled out. Pearl gold helmet is pretty rare, so don't do that one. Lime doesn't look the best, and magenta helmet is relatively rare, so that leaves the dark azure as the best option.

TBF they already did a CS statue before.

Interesting perspective, I personally don't see that myself. I think it would overpower the gold on the logo which works on all the other figures due to how it stands out from the rest of the uniform and thus make it look much blander. Plus I think metallic colours just sorta take away the simplistic charm of the CS Aesthetic. I couldn't imagine seeing the gold one siting in any of the sets and looking right while all the others would work (especially Teal)

That's,of course, just my two cents though

Not thrilled with any of the colors, but I went with the bluish green.  Didn't care for the "lime" color, or what I consider "raspberry".  Agree with others that gold doesn't really stand out.  It's nice to have a real contrast between the suit color and the colors in the logo.  I still think they should have made purple as a "general release" figure.  I don't know, moving into the "shades" colors kind of cheapens the CS figure colors to me.  I mean it is classic space, so my preference is for classic colors.

My vote is going to teal, because... Well, I like teal  that said, I think they're all interesting options, although I'm not too fussed about dark azure.

What roles would we assign the new colours? Teal could perhaps be pilot commander (somewhere between blue and green)?

True, but that A. was in white and B. I don't have one.

I don't like the gold, but you make a compelling case for steampunk MOCs!

Gold really does seem to be either love or hate. Given that most of the rest seem to be relatively evenly split (from a small sample size here), I wonder if gold will win but also be the least popular at the same time, as those voting for other colours don't like gold, but would probably be happy with any of the others.

Yes! :classic:

I voted for dark azure, for what it's worth, but would be happy with any of them (but less so with gold).

I agree with this. I don't mind then doing colours like orange or purple as while they are modern shades they fit in with the aesthetic by being bright, distinct colours from the rest. The gold feels so tacky to me.

I have a mixed feeling. Gold is nice, but it seems to me it doesn't blend with the other colors. It's not like an additional color to add to the diversity. It would feel weird to have a golden among the others, it would look "special".

Yeah, my sentiments too.  The original five where the primary colors: white, red, yellow, blue, black.  So, it feels "right" to have the figures in the secondary colors of orange, green, and purple.  To me brown was a bit odd, but livable.  Beyond that, it's becoming "candy colors", like how many shades can we possibly do?  While gray is a classic color, it was used for CS baseplates and in many CS sets on vehicles and spaceships, so I don't thing gray works for an astronaut color in the CS palette.

However, having said all that, it's best to keep in mind that Lego is a business first and foremost, so what sells will always be the major consideration.

Gold would be the most fitting, if only for the fact that the gold ink from the space logo on played with original figures and printed bricks is usually long gone + that means, it has been part of the Classic space since it's launch, just as ink :)

However, if it were meant to appear regularly in actual CS sets, I'd say Teal, as it's the most different from what has been done so far.

Teal would be the inbetween color as well between existing (similar to how orange is inbetween yellow and red, and pink was inbetween white and red) , whereas I see the magenta, lime and azure just as different lighter/darker shades of the pink, green, and blue space figs.

The gold on works as contrast to the suits imo, gold logo on a gold suit would make it look really bland.

Yeah 100%, even with the cand colours they're at the very least flat ones. Gold being a metallic shade just doesn't wor with the others

I don’t think warm gold is a big issue when it comes to Classic Spaceman… I think it will blend in with other existing spacemen nicely.
