Excuse me if this is a stupid question, but what happened to the rumoured big black spaceship that was supposed to come out this year, has it been cancelled/revealed to be fake, or are we still waiting for an announcement?

The ship in question turned out to be set 10391 and is coming out next month... I believe you can preorder it already for 110 USD. It's not pretty, and is basically a glorified parts pack @Horation.

I think I found the same pics. I see visored helmets but no air tanks. Weird.

Well I would prefer the true classic spacemen for sure, but given that we had a Spaceset with a (not so) Classic Spacemen with glasses and the GWP which had them without tanks already it isn´t that surprising to me. My main concern I have right now is that they might use the motorcycle helmet instead of the classic space one right now - because of the visors.

I didn´t got a Orange Classic Spacemen yet so that might be a good chance to finally get them - especially when you get 5 at once, but when you have to order not only the tanks but also the helmets from Pick a Brick - I might aswell just order the whole minifigure there, especially since I expect that the set will be only avaiable for Insiders points. Well only problem is that the torso usually is gone short after it was back in stock though.

Well, that would explain why the orange space torsos have been in stock very briefly at least twice on PAB.  Can only assume Lego is not interested in the orange space figure (complete anyway) being available for general purchase.  Can't understand what the logic is some times on availability of specific Lego parts/figures.  With the orange torso available in very limited quantities, it just seems to me Lego is enabling those who buy large lots on PAB the few times they make the part available.  I'm sure some (many? most?) just turn around and re-sell at a significant profit.  It's unclear to me how that helps the broader Lego community or supports the fanbase.

Might be that Lego doesn´t want to bring the complete figure with helmet and airtank back because it was said to be exclusive in the Book.

About the avaiability on Pick a Brick, I don´t think that they really are producing that part for it, but rather produce all parts when they are needed for the sets and then those also become avaiable at Pick a Brick again. Well and as classic space minifigures are quite good in demand many people are waiting for them to come back in stock and are gone again fast - especially because surely some resellers buy tons of them. Well still would wish they would limit the amount people can order for some parts, especially new ones.

It's based on a Pharrell Williams movie about his life and sadly is neither big, nor good value. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/over-the-moon-with-pharrell-williams-10391

Oops. Didn't see the page break and that this has already been answered.

Just watched Tiago Catarino's review of 10391 and the actual ship looks pretty drab at any angle other than from the top. So not only is it overpriced, but doesn't feel like a great design either, which is a shame.

I think the billowing clouds at the bottom are excellent though. It's a shame that the rainbow trail has to be quite so large, but I get it.

Definitely some good techniques to consider for a custom base for another ship.

Yeah, that's what I had figured to be honest, still kind of bummed because I was hoping for something to do with blacktron...

The updated CS-style helmets can fit the classic visor piece, and the motorcycle helmet is not available in orange; I expect that the Minifigs are just CS orange and CS white with clear visors and no airtanks.

With any luck, the Minifig parts will end up on PAB in a few months (as they are just generic faces (similar to the table football heads), not specific characters or celebrities) - In fact, some of the heads are not even new for this set!

On the topic of potentially useful parts from this set, the Brickset review shows the Minifigs in more detail; the helmets are PDG with black ribbing on the back (City space helmet price), so they should look good with the City Space ‘24 PDG spacesuit. The visors appear to be metallic gold (drum-lacquered), which we have not gotten since 2015’s Series 16 CMF astronaut, and the legs look useful as well (gold lines on the hips notwithstanding).
I am not 100% sold on the torsos, as the design looks busy and a bit muddled as to what it is supposed to represent (a spacesuit? a jacket with a harness?). That being said, with a bit of armour covering the top portion (such as the Ninjago Imperium armour), these could make for some interesting sci-fi characters.

There is a leak of an upcoming GWP or Insider reward that appears to be a Tic-Tac-Toe game using Classic Space minifigs in White & Orange.  Five of each Minifig.  They have helmets but I can't tell from the picture if they have the air tanks.

Oh? I'm pretty interested in that, is there any hint to when this would go up?

Having looked at the images though anyone else worried that the orange ones just have monochrome torsos?

I had the same impression. I can spot the CS logo on the white minifig, but not on a single of the orange ones.

According to a leak about City sets in Jan. 2025 posted in this thread by user @LCP, we have a new spaceship coming!

60446: Modular Galactic Spaceship

(No word on price or piece count yet.)

It isn't listed in the more recent post from Lego_Minecraft_Goat, so I hope it isn't a mistake. It would be nice if it was a larger spaceship to go with CS'24.

It only appeared in the Nexus Force astronaut polybag from 2010!

IwillnotgetmyhopesupIwillnotgetmyhopesup!

Since LEGO has been doing a good job lately of standardising the colour-schemes and uniforms of the various City occupations (as opposed to the older model of changing police/fire uniforms every year), I think that there is actually a really good chance that this set will use the City Space ‘24 colours and astronauts!
The fact that this is explicitly a modular spaceship also ties it to the 2024 cross-theme airlocks, though I could also see a self-contained spaceship with a bunch of smaller detachable bits (like the Deep Freeze Defender).
Hopefully, this set is either a very large flagship for the ‘24 crew or something rather small ($20-$30 range) in-line with the Interstellar Spaceship (that can be used to build a nice fleet)!

@LCP is a reliable source, so I am not worried about this being a mistake.

Looking at the picture again I'm not even sure the helmets are the classic space ones.  One orange torso looks like it might have the logo but even on the white ones it really isn't too clear. And the orange almost looks close to the Vibrant Coral color on a few.  No idea when this might become available.

Yeah, I fear they may have cheaped out there

By shape they don't look like them, there seems to be no divot in the top and they seem more rounded, though as said above the orange motorbike helmets haven't been in production for almost 15 years!

Well the image quality isn´t that good and it would certainly make no sense to have the logo on one but not the other. That and the fact that it is for sure easier to spot on white tan it would be on orange make me quite otimistic about the torso.

Kinda strange if they would ony do this one set to add to the space series, but in the end a bigger space ship is really missing for this lineup. Hopefully there will be more than just that still though.

Is it strange that Lego saves Modular galactic spaceship for 2025 while the rest of Space City sets are on out in 2024 HY1 and already on sale. But I’m just glad that Lego has some sace stuff in storage for future.

Probably they saw it selling well and decided to do one more set for it since a big space ship really is the thing that was missing for this space wave. There is still the possibility we get more than just that, since we don´t know all sets that are coming - but so far it seems likely to be just a last addition to this years theme.

LEGO City is always on sale in Fall season, whatever the subtheme. Its just the run-up to the holidays.

I'm intrigued by the 'modular' part of the description. I kinda hope it means that sets like the space station can be attached and become a rotating habitable section of the space ship. And a docking port for the interstellar flyer.

Without wanting to get all 'well actually', there are orange ones in production at the moment - they're just printed with the McLaren logo, as they appear with the Speed Champions F1 car. So in theory it might not be too difficult to just include unprinted ones.

Good point, we should keep our expectations low then

Oh, interesting! I somehow missed that! That increases the chances of getting plain orange motorcycle helmets at some point, though I still think the tic-tac-toe set will have the updated CS helmets.
I actually hope that we get plain orange motorcycle helmets at some point (if only just on PAB), since Neo-Classic Space builders deserve to be able to use the orange torsos in their builds as well!

Rumors of Blacktron coming in 2025.

Are we talking a one-off D2C or a full blown revival?

I've always wondered where people see these rumours before they make it to Eurobricks

It's on a Reddit sub called Legoleak, which generally takes leaks from various sources, but also seems to be decent at corroborating things before being posted, so it's usually accurate. And if not, posts about anything being wrong, and generally that they won't trust the 'leaker' in the future.

Nothing mentioned other than 'Blacktron is coming in 2025'.
