December 5, 20204 yr Stray observations: The B-models are cool, but I seriously thought TLG would be past the whole "B-model skips the stickers" thing by now. What are the gigantic bumpers about, exactly? We can see that the real trucks don't have them. @Sariel points out in his 42122 review that the tyres therein are quite sturdy, so why not include them in sets that really are built for them?

It would be great choice to have pullbacks (usual parts pack) with tractor tires, but due to limited functionality of 42122 set it would probably be less sold without small tractor tires...

December 6, 20204 yr These pullback models don't really have a lot of weight, and the jeep tires don't have a lot of grip, since the rubber compound seems to be harder than the current tires. So with less traction, it's more likely that the wheels will just spin instead of launching the vehicle forward. Fun for burnouts maybe, but not great for playing.Â

January 12, 20214 yr Author According to a photo from Grohl's FB page, these two sets are designed by Kasper Hansen. A quick Google search reveals that he joined TLG as a Lego Technic designer in 2019. https://www.linkedin.com/in/kasper-rene-hansen/ Â Edited January 12, 20214 yr by Ngoc Nguyen
January 12, 20214 yr As I did not see this here, I just want to share this pic from @Sariel using the Jeeps wheels. My question is: Why didn't they do this? Are the new wheels to smooth in contrast to balloon tires, so the pullback-action do no work properly?
January 12, 20214 yr Might have been the price of new tires > the price of old tires. Might have been just fear that nobody will buy the Jeep if they do this.

They don't seem to release any new part in large numbers upon release. Even a new type of connector peg only comes in very small numbers when first released. Maybe it takes a while to build the stock up a bit?
January 13, 20214 yr Perhaps the monster trucks' designers weren't aware of the existence of the new tyre. And/or the tyre was first created for the City tractor and the Jeep got it as a last-minute bonus, after the monster trucks were already finalised.
January 13, 20214 yr I'll go with Mr. Sariel thoughts, I will buy it only for tires, Lego will never go all the way in one set..

January 30, 20214 yr Anyone design any other "real" monster trucks in this style? i want to make a Bigfoot to go along with GD and Max D
January 31, 20214 yr Those tire question looks very easy to answer. If TLG put jeep tire on both pullback model, than why we need to buy jeep? We can get new tire and new panel(3x7) for cheap price set. That's why TLG didn't put new tire in pullback set.
