Berthil Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 (edited) It was over 40 years ago that LEGO created the 854 Go-Kart. It was part of my youth and for a LUG competition I have redesigned it. Meanwhile the model has been build and free instructions here:https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-63623/BrickPolis/854-go-kart-tribute/ Edited January 23, 2021 by Berthil Quote
neonic Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 Nice one I had that one too, actually still have. Looks nice, different but still recognizable right away. Nice and smooth Quote
JintaiZ Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Fantastic! Much smoother but still instantly recognizable! Quote
Jurss Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Nice rebuild. If today built, most probably, there won't be so much bricks used. Some panels instead. Quote
Berthil Posted January 11, 2021 Author Posted January 11, 2021 Still waiting for the TLG B&P delivery to build the remake with real bricks and publish free instructions. First B&P order got lost and meanwhile delivery is up to 8 weeks! But I managed to source the original 854 go-kart with almost all new bricks including the light gray parts. I think that's amazing for a more then 40 year old set! Quote
Berthil Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 Model has been build. First topic updated with link to free instructions on Rebrickable:https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-63623/BrickPolis/854-go-kart-tribute/ Quote
OneMoreRobot Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 Thanks Berthil. Great passion recreating an icon and sharing instructions for another generation to enjoy. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 Sorry I am a little late to this build. Very well done, and a great tribute to an early set. I love the side by side pictures. I am interested in these tributes builds, as I enjoy the nostalgia. As I build some of these myself, I am struck by how small and simple some of these early set are compared to what is released now. Thanks for sharing the build. Quote
Berthil Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 This probably would have been a good entry for [TC20] but I was too soon. Quote
